Bill from Beyond Fitness Online demonstrates the Pallof press with a march, a core exercise that strengthens your spine and improves balance. You anchor a resistance band to the side, extend your arm, and lift one leg at a time while keeping your posture steady. The movement challenges your core, arms, and legs all at once.

Hi, I'm Bill from Beyond Fitness Online, and today I'm going to show you a core exercise that I use on myself and my clients all the time. Now, this exercise is great for building core stability and stabilizing your spine, helps to build better posture, helps to give you better balance. It's a great input for all of the muscles in the middle of your body so that you get a better awareness of where everything is. And overall, that leads to better strength in not just your core, but in your arms and your legs as well. So this exercise is called a Pallof press with a march. And what you're going to need to do is you're going to need a band or a cable, and you're going to attach that to something stable if it's a band off to your side, and you're going to be marching in place while you do this. So I'm going to show you that exercise right here. So you're going to secure the band to something stationary off to your side. The further out you extend your arms, the more challenging this will be. Also, the higher you lift your legs, the harder this will be. So you're going to hold that band in one place, try to maintain good posture, and march in place. If you need to make it a little easier, bring the arms in closer to you and see if you can make the legs go up a little bit higher. If you want to make it more challenging, extend the arms all the way. You may end up with a smaller march, and that's okay. Just try to maintain your posture. I hope you found that interesting. I love this exercise because, like I said earlier, it gives you great stability through the core. Which also in turn will end up giving you a lot of feedback to your vestibular system, and that's in turn how it helps with posture and with your balance and all kinds of other things. So give it a try. Let me know in the comments below how it went for you. And if you haven't already, please subscribe to my channel. I post new updates every Friday.
