In this instructional YouTube video, Bill from Beyond Fitness Online introduces a little‑known technique that uses tongue positioning to boost midline stability, core strength, balance, and even alleviate headaches or vertigo. He explains that by placing the tongue just behind the front teeth on the roof of the mouth and making an “L” sound, the posterior part of the tongue presses upward, activating a chain of muscles from the throat through the spine. Bill demonstrates how to incorporate this cue into common flexion‑based movements such as bicep curls, crunches, or sit‑ups, advising viewers to start gently, maintain breathing, and gradually increase pressure. He claims the method yields rapid strength gains, improves stability, and can reduce dizziness. The video concludes with a call to visit his website and blog for more details and to subscribe to the channel for weekly updates.

Hi, I'm Bill from Beyond Fitness Online, and today I'm going to show you a little-known technique that will help you to improve all of your midline stability instantly. So if you have an issue with balance, if you are feeling weak through your core, you're feeling stuck with your workouts, if you get dizziness, any of this stuff, this may be the secret weapon that can fix All of that. Now, there's a muscle that we need to work that we almost always ignore, and I'm going to show you that right now. That muscle is your tongue right there. Now, here's the deal. If we can really start to increase the tone in the tongue, it will start to strengthen everything from the throat, in the spine, and then right down the spine. It can help to eliminate headaches. It will make you feel more stable. It can even in some cases help to eliminate symptoms of vertigo. So all we're gonna do, this is really simple, is I want you to picture your front teeth and I want you to put your tongue on the roof of your mouth about a millimeter behind your front teeth, and then we're gonna make the sound of the letter L. So it's just like this. Now when you make that L sound, you should feel more towards the back of your tongue go up towards the roof of your mouth. Once you've got that, that's the part of your tongue that you want to be pressing into the roof of your mouth. So here's what we're going to do. Try any exercise, especially with flexion. This really works great. So a bicep curl, a crunch, or a sit-up. You could try anything where you're bringing your limbs in closer to your body. Now do that, get a gauge on how difficult that is, then put your tongue into that place and press your tongue into the roof of your mouth and try it again. I guarantee you're going to find that that feels a lot stronger. Now, when you start to incorporate this into your workouts, you want to do this easily at first, so you don't need to press super hard, but just get your tongue into that space and then try to also maintain your breathing with it while you do it. You will find that you make incredible gains very quickly with this little trick. I hope you found that helpful. If you have any questions or want to know more about this, you can check out my website. I've also done a blog where I incorporate some of this recently. I'll put that in the link below.
