Hi, I'm Bill from Beyond Fitness Online, and today I want to show you a core exercise that I use to help build up more core stability. Now, core stability is so important because it helps our posture, which then in turn helps our strength in our arms and our legs, and it helps our balance. It keeps us more coordinated, and the list goes on and on. So the exercise I'm going to show you right here is called a standing pulldown. You can do this at the gym with a cable machine. You can also do this at home with bands, and it's super simple to do. You can do this 2-sided or one-sided, and I'm going to show you that right here. To begin this exercise, have the cable or band fastened above your head in front of you. Grab it with 2 hands in this variation. Keep your arms straight and maintain good posture with a visual Target, and pull down to your hips. Now if you want to, you can make this more challenging or more specific by using one hand and using the same principles: visual target, tall posture, straight arm, down to the hip. I hope you found that interesting. It's a really great exercise to help build that stability and start to incorporate movement. It's not a beginner exercise, but it's not super advanced, so most people are able to do this. Start with a light band and work your way up from there.
