Hi, I'm Bill from Beyond Fitness Online, and today I want to show you how you can lower your stress levels while doing an exercise. Now, you can use this technique that I'm going to show you with pretty much any exercise, but I really like to use it with a rotational exercise. Now, the rotational exercise I'm going to show you is going to be using a band. But you could also do this with cables or even a dumbbell. The key is you need to be able to use your vision in order to make this work. So what we're going to do is you're going to have your eyes on your hands or your weight while you do the exercise, and you're going to be moving. You're going to be noticing as you're watching and focusing on your hands that the ground seems to be moving behind it. So in other words, when you're here and you're watching your hands go, Peripherally beyond that, you can actually see the world kind of going by. Now what this does is it actually lowers your sympathetic nervous system by incorporating more peripheral vision. This is called a VOR cancellation. If you want more information on this exercise, you can watch this video right here. So I'm going to show you this exercise right here. Set yourself up like you would for a normal cable or band rotation. Begin the exercise, but keep your eyes stuck to your thumbs. As you're doing this, you want to notice in the background how the world seems to be flying by. You can do this at different levels. You can do it with your arms raised higher, or you can do it with your arms down lower as well. I hope you found this video helpful.
