Bill from Beyond Fitness Online shows a single-leg exercise with a resistance band or dumbbell looped on one side. Stand on that leg and reach your free leg to touch targets placed around your body. Progress by raising the weight overhead or moving continuously without resetting your foot between touches.

Hi, I'm Bill from Beyond Fitness Online, and today I want to show you an exercise that will challenge your core stability and your balance all at the same time. It's really simple. All you're going to need is some kind of band, or if you don't have a large band to put around your shoulder, you can do this with a dumbbell. And then on top of that, you'll need some kind of target for your feet. I like to use cones, but you can use pretty much anything that you can visually see in front of you that's not going to roll away from you. So without further ado, here's that exercise. In the first version of this exercise, we use a band. You're going to pick one side of your body and put your foot into that band and then loop the band over that same shoulder. This is going to create more stabilization needed through the core on that side of the body. You're going to stand on that leg and use the free leg to reach out and touch the targets at various positions around your body. There are various ways to make this more challenging. In this version, we put the foot back down at the center spot between each target. If you don't have a band available, you can also do the same thing with a dumbbell. Again, you'll hold the dumbbell in one hand, and then with the free leg, reach out and touch each target. Be sure to have targets in all different directions of your body. If you want to make this more challenging, you can take that weight and hold it up higher on your shoulder or over your head. Again, you can reach out with your feet and touch the targets, and if you want to make it more challenging, you can do it without putting your foot down in the center each time. I hope you found this exercise helpful. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. If you haven't already, please subscribe to my channel.
