A short sales-focused monologue arguing that all types of leads—marketed and tech-generated—are opportunities that can be closed with the right mindset and approach. The speaker emphasizes finding the customer's pain, treating every lead as a chance to win a new customer, and framing customer acquisition as ‘capture the customer.’
All leads are an opportunity to play big boy poker. I know some people that run nothing but marketed leads. They don't want to run tech generated leads. I know other people that only want to run tech generated leads. They don't want to run marketed leads. It's a mindset of what you think you can close, right? The all leads are good leads. Nobody in the history of mankind has called up and said, I need a plumbing salesperson, I need a plumber to come out here because all my plumbing looks great. Nobody's ever called us and said, send one of your products project managers out here to give me some options for an air conditioner. Because we're thinking we might do it in two or three years. And if you're buying that pile of crap you just got sold, all right? Nobody calls us out there. You got to find the pain. You got to find the pain. There's a reason you're there. If it's a marketed lead, they might get more than one estimate. If it's a tech generated lead and they love your company, you might be the only estimate. But either way, you can close that deal. You can close that deal, right? You can sell a marketed lead, but because that's a chance to win a customer over that's not used your company before, and that's the name of the game. The name of the game is capture to customer. It's like capture the flag, but you got to capture the customer.
