Unreleased Vlog | Service World 2019

Richard Cobra documents the 2019 Service World Expo in Las Vegas, capturing keynote speeches from Michael E. Gerber and Ken Goodrich alongside footage of the event and his personal reflections on the experience.
What's going on, everybody? Okay, so let me preface this one. What you're about to see is a video made up of footage that I shot at the 2019 Service World Expo in Las Vegas. I had shot some footage while I was there. I intended to put together like a vlog video, kind of like I did for Pantheon 2019. But I got like halfway through editing the video and I just. I wasn't that happy with how it was turning out. I felt like the video didn't really have a clear narrative and I felt like maybe I didn't get enough footage while I was there. So I ended up just about abandoning the project. But now, a year Later, Service World 2020 just happens virtually. And Pantheon 2020 recently happens virtually. And with everything that's been going on, I just felt like, you know, I should dig that old footage back up. And I think that just the nostalgia of being at an in person conference would be enough to make it a compelling video. So that's what I did. I finished editing the video and that's what you're about to see. So I hope you enjoy it. What's going on, everybody? It's Richard Cobra here, the blue collar nerd. I'm out here in Las Vegas, Nevada for Service World Expo 2019. I've only been to this event one time before, a couple years back, but it was a pretty good time, so I'm looking forward to it. Should be pretty cool again. I've got my dad with me this time, so you might get to meet him. But I'm out here in the Paris Hotel. Got a beautiful view. I'm sure I haven't really checked. Check. Okay. Well. Well, this Pantheon had a better view. But hey, we're in Vegas, right? It's gonna be a great time. Looking forward to it. See you.
Sam. It.
Well, that's presumptuous.
Sam.
All right, that is a wrap on day one. It was a lot of fun. Drove a Ferrari, had a good time. Hey, did the drug dealers sell drugs by just kind of saying the name of a drug to you? Because this guy walked by me, kind of made eye contact and just low key. Was like cocaine to me. And I don't like, was that an offer? Was that just on your word in the day calendar? Like, I don't know what that, what that was meant to imply. Anyways, I might go back to the hotel room. Catch you guys tomorrow.
His books are among the top selling of all time. The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, and Inc. Magazine. And so many more. He also has an iconic phrase, go to work on your business, not in your business, which I think is fair. Fantastic. He's also joined on stage here by Ken Goodrich. He's the CEO of Gettle Air Conditioning and Plumbing. And I know Ken is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with more than 30 years experience in acquiring, integrating and developing H Vac Plumbing and Contracting businesses. So please, let's give a warm, enthusiastic, authentic and robust Service World Expo 2019 welcome to Michael E. Gerber and Ken Goodrich.
As old as I am, and as long as I've been doing this thing that I've been doing, as long as I've been connected with guys on the street doing what you've been doing, as long as I'm seeing the problems that every single small business owner has, yes, I know you don't have any. But as long as I've seen that, known that and wondered from the very beginning of my life as what is called a thought leader in the business of business, growing a company of one to a company of 1,000, I know absolutely as clearly as anything anybody could know exactly what it takes to grow a company of one to a company of 1,000, no matter what kind of company it is. I'm going to be introducing you to a gentleman you probably all know, Ken Goodrich, who has co authored our latest, what we call vertical E Myth book, the EE Myth H Vac Conference. Book by book by book, message by message by message. All about the dream, all about the vision, all about the purpose, all about the mission. I'm going to tell you about that shortly. All about the client fulfillment system, all about the client acquisition system. All about the practice. Improving, improving, improving, improving. Working out of the system, not just in the system. Can you hear me back there? Can anybody hear me? Raise your hands if you can hear me. I'm sharing with you, sharing with you the absolute gift that you're going to receive. Okay, focus.
Now.
How many of you ever watch Martin Luther King say, I have a dream? Anybody ever do that? You get the spirit. Get the spirit. Get the spirit. Tens upon tens upon tens upon tens. Get the spirit. Spirit. Get the spirit. I have a dream. I have a dream. Okay, focus. Get the spirit. It's a freaking lottery. Free, free, free. Can you imagine this stupid idiot listening to that premise? Why are you here? Do you hear me? With you. Where you're doing what you do and where you're doing what you do and improving how you do what you do.
And then the closing objection. I said the one Service roundtable There's hundreds of rebut rebuttals to those three. Those three objections to buying. Document them and let's start training. And so they came back with our system called the Rise system.
R I, S E and I can spell that.
And so we took the system and I had acquired a ghetto air conditioning. And as Michael alluded to earlier.
The.
First air conditioner ever lit up with a flashlight holding it from my dad at 10 years old was a ghett.
It's it.
Awkward. Awkward, Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. Awkward, Awkward, awkward, awkward. Alright, so we're here at the exhibit hall. I've got to tell you guys about my favorite thing that has happened so far at this event and that is this bird. There's a bird. Okay, so Scorpion has this big fancy booth because they like to be flashy, you know. And there's this bird in the exhibit hall that keeps perching on top of their display and they keep chasing it. They're swatting at it with Swiffer mops. They're throwing stress balls at it. They'll take a lap. It just lands right back on it. So there's the poor guy up there with the Swiffer chasing the bird. He's been chasing the bird all day. Come on. Oh, it's got a little face. Yeah, it's an animal emoji. Nailed it. Hey, hey. I won. What do I. Thus concludes day two. Very tired. Don't really have the energy to walk around the city and do shenanigans tonight. So going to bed. Got to get up little extra special early to meet with Service Titan. So see you tomorrow, blue collar nerd. What's going on, guys? Day three. I'm here with Connor. Connor, what do you do at Service Titan? I run business operations. Runs business operations. VP of operations in fact. Right? Big time. Got a big wig over here. We're going into the expo hall now, see what's going on.
Sam.
All right, that's it. That's the video. I didn't really get like a closing wrap up clip. Kind of part of that lack of narrative I was talking about. But I hope you enjoyed it, hope you had a good time and I hope that it brought back some fond memories and I look forward to a time where we can all get together and do stuff like that again. Be sure to like the video if you had a good time. Be sure to subscribe to this YouTube channel if you've not done that already. And I'll catch you guys in the next one. Appreciate it. Peace.
Race.
