As owners and operators in the home service space, you know what it takes to put together a marketing strategy and a marketing budget to help you generate leads. So it can be very incredibly frustrating when the leads start coming in, but your team does not respond fast enough to book the job. By the time your CSR reaches out, that customer may have already found another company, or they might have even ghosted you. And now you're paying for leads that you're not booking because your team was too slow. And as someone who's been a marketing manager and a call center manager in my own HVAC company, I totally get it. Your CSRs are busy and the leads are not just coming in by phone anymore. There are a lot of lead generating resources that you may be using, such as Angie's, Thumbtack, Google Local Service Ads, Facebook, and probably even your own website. And once the lead is generated, the clock starts to tick, and it's very easy to miss a lead when your CSRs have 25 different tabs open just trying to keep up on notifications. In my opinion, this is not really a call center problem. This is a revenue problem. Some independent lead response research shows that contacting a lead within just a few minutes makes you way more likely to reach them. Qualify them, and book the job. If you wait too long, your odds drop fast. Not only that, your response time is a reflection of your business. It's a reflection of how you do business, and it's directly tied to your reputation. So your revenue will definitely be affected, and not to mention the marketing dollars that you've already spent to get the lead.
