Feeling Empty? Men's Midlife Crisis & Career Change #shorts

Anthony Astbury spent nearly 20 years in London's financial markets as a trader and broker, then hit a wall in his mid-to-late 30s. He felt trapped by the monotony and couldn't face another 20 years of the same work, a pattern he sees in men who have money and status but feel empty inside.
I love talk about this stuff because I don't talk, because I think about it. I know about it because I lived that. And I saw. I saw men living that. And I have worked with lots of men that have lived that. And, you know, take me, for example. I worked in the city for nearly 20 years in London as a trader. So in the financial markets as a trader, primarily to start with, and then a broker. And what I saw, I mean, for myself, you know, I'd worked in that industry and I kind of got to that mid to late 30s and thought, is this it? You know, I enjoyed it for a period. So it's not pretending that a lot of guys don't just. Just go straight to a job they hate. But what you can find is as. As it could be, sadly, with a marriage, but with a career, with a business, with anything, you might do it for a decade or two decades, and it just starts to get boring, monotonous. Groundhog Day. So I started looking around and realizing that, you know, I was. Let's pretend I was nearly 40, but you were still looking at another 20 years of doing that until I retire. And I just thought, that just doesn't work for me. So, in short, that's what got me kind of interested in postal development, interested in leaving the city. And, you know, soon after that, I'd taken all of what I'd learned and thought, you know, who do I know about? Who do I understand? Men who on paper have got the money, the car, the body, the townhouse, the job, the titles. But actually underneath, part of you was kind of just fucking pissed off with where you were because you either wanted more monetarily as well as more freedom, but also you just felt like you needed a bit more excitement because you didn't feel alive anymore doing your job.
