Men, Stop Dreading and Start Living! #shorts

A short, first-person motivational monologue aimed at men who feel stuck or unfulfilled while juggling work, family, health, and other responsibilities. The speaker describes common bad habits and distractions (alcohol, drugs, porn, binge-watching, scrolling) that pull men back from pursuing dreams, shares personal setbacks (stressful work, breakups, burnout), and warns that unaddressed drift leads to wasted potential.
Let me ask you, like, when was the last time you looked in the mirror and thought, you know, I'm living a great life and I've got my shit together, and it's okay if you aren't. If you aren't living a great life and you haven't got your shit together. What I would say is that most guys are juggling everything. And that could be work, family, kids, bills, elderly, parents, your fitness, your health, your job, your stress scrolling and eating late at night from the fridge. All these different things that guys can be juggling. But ultimately inside you feel like you're stuck in a gap. And that gap could mean that you feel a bit lost, or you feel like a fraud, or you just know you've got a lot more in the tank. And what I find frustrating is that men say they wake up dreading the day ahead. Like, we don't want that. And I've interviewed on the podcast, like, over a hundred men, and for a lot of them, there was times in their life where they had that and then something needed to change. And maybe you've been doing well, but you still feel empty. And again, that could be your journey job dragging you down. Could be your marriage, which is, you know, going a bit tits up, or mates that are just happy with, like, things are decent enough, but that's not enough for you. So the way I look at it is most men carry big dreams, and they might not tell people about it, but there's stuff inside you that you want to do. And every time you try and take a step forward with that dream, or whatever it is, it could be a side hustle, new career, new business, make more money. Whatever it is, something pulls you back, and that often is bad habits and bad thinking. Or it can be the fucking chaos of life, especially if you've got three kids like I have. And I get it. I've been through lots of stuff myself. I had a collapse along my 20s. Painful breakups, which fucking drives you mad. I spent two decades working in the city, 200 hours a month at my desk until I was sick of the sight of it. I was making money for people I'd never meet. And even when I did get money, I got so heavily taxed on it, I was like, what's the fucking point? But anyway, what's easy is that men bury all this under distractions. And for some, it could be, well, you know what they are. Beers scrolling. I know lines of coke, Netflix, binges, porn, football on repeat. You know, watching men chase a little ball around a field for hours at a time and still saying you haven't had time to work out and work out your side business. That doesn't, that doesn't fit, does it? But ultimately, one day you look up and realize that, like, years have gone by, decades have gone by, and your potential has, in short, gathered dust.
