Wherever you may be in your business, we always have just the nature of the entrepreneur. We always have a next level. There's always the next thing. We hit the goal. Like, all right, what's next? If you're in business, you are setting smart goals, but what you need is something bigger that pulls you so you need something that seems unreasonable so that the next three steps that I'm going to share make sense to you.
Shifting the perspective and being open minded. Because a lot of times business owners are like, no, I've got a plan. And this is, I just got to stick to the plan. But there are other ways to see the plan and other ways that we can incorporate a vision into accomplishing your goals. Good day and welcome to the Wealthy Entrepreneur Podcast. My name is Bob Govrel. I will be your host today. I'm excited to have you here today. I've got a very special guest who I will introduce in a moment. However, I want to remind you that the Wealthy Entrepreneur Podcast is the place where we dissect the elements that contribute to entrepreneurial success, from mindset and, and leadership to profits and revenue. Now, my special guest today is Dr. Nona Javid. And we're actually going to be talking about something that's a little bit science, a little bit of science today because she actually studied neurology at university and I believe it was Berkeley, but we'll let her share that story. And then also moved into the world of chiropractic and had a business there. But what we're going to talk about today is more so around this topic of the quantum leap, how to scale your business while reclaiming your life. And we're gonna talk a little bit about, you know, how we can maybe reframe what our vision is and how we maybe have to relook at that every now and again before we get into a spot of feeling like we're stuck or trapped in our business and looking at the constant evolution of what it is that we want to accomplish through our journey as an entrepreneur. And I'm really excited to have her come in and have a discussion about that today. So just as a little bit of an introduction, Dr. Nona Javid is bestselling author, international speaker, and founder of Elevate Club, where she helps entrepreneurs scale their businesses while reclaiming their time and freedom. With a background in neurology and chiropractic care, she blends science, mindset and energetics to create lasting transformations in business and in life through her one week month lifestyle system and book, Elevate youe Life. She empowers entrepreneurs to break free from the hustle culture and achieve quantum leaps in success. Without further ado, I would like to welcome Dr. Nona Jahid to the podcast today. Okay, so before I invite Nona to share her story, I just want to say how excited I am to have her in this podcast today. What a wonderful background that I can't wait for you guys to hear. But there's going to be so much value that I know is going to be brought not only through her story, but she's got some frameworks that we're going to share, and it's just going to add value to the lives of entrepreneurs. So a wonderful person and so excited. So let me formally bring you in. Dr. Nona Javid, welcome to the podcast.
Yes, thank you so much. I am. I'm excited to be here and share.
Absolutely. So, you know, I always get excited about this, being able to hear the entrepreneurial journey of others who come through, who've had, you know, a certain level of success, but know that we've all had bumps and bruises along the way. Would love for you to share exactly how you got started and a little bit about your entrepreneurial journey.
Yes. So my story, really, I mean, I can go. I can. I have a few struggle moments in my entrepreneurial journey. When I say few, I mean, who knows? However many, just like everybody else is listening in. But I think I had a really big, pivotal moment with my very first official business. So I moved to the United States when I was 16 years old, and I didn't really speak any English. So English is my second language. I was kind of thrown into high school. But one thing was for sure, I was this A plus student, and I was ready to just kind of rock it. So I go to high school. I even started my first business, kind of an underground tutoring company that I started. And I would hire high school students to teach my neighbor's kids. And I would. Yeah, I learned leverage in business at 16, but I always had this love for doing more and accomplishing and hitting the goals. And I think a lot of entrepreneurs, we relate to that and we relate to this idea of freedom, right? Having the financial freedom, the time freedom, the energy freedom. So a lot of the entrepreneurs I talk to have gotten into business, Whether it's brick and mortar or virtual, whatever type of business that they have gotten, or even startups, there's this level of freedom that we are craving. And it happens that that's not always the case, that that's not always the case where we end up at that level of freedom. And I surely experienced that in my entrepreneurial journey. So about. I went to Berkeley, I studied neurology, and then I went to chiropractic school and became a chiropractor. So my goal was I'm going to have this beautiful business that gives me the level of freedom that I'm looking for. So I go and I open up my practice. Shortly after graduation, I did try to work for somebody else. That didn't really work out that well. So here I am, opened up my own practice. Three years into it, I was doing really, really well. I had coaches that were telling me, you know, the things to do in terms of sales and marketing and communication and all the things. And so I had this practice, this brick and mortar practice that was doing really, really well on paper. And from a personal story side, I was married. I had my very first child. So looking from outside in my life actually looked pretty good.
Pretty perfect.
Yeah, pretty perfect. I mean, that's what you're supposed to do, right? You go to school, you do the thing, you start a business, you get the A's, you start a family, you have a child, you know, and your business is thriving. However, I was actually completely unfulfilled. I remember having this moment where I had just had my. My son now is 9 years old, so this is. We're talking a decade ago. I put him to sleep. He was an infant at the time, put him to sleep. I took a phone call with my team members and go over the numbers. Just a very typical day of a CEO day where I wasn't in the office. My office was taken care of. And I remember, Rob, I walked into the closet, I shut down the closet, and I sat there, held my knees, and I started sobbing in the closet because I had this very heavy feeling of how everything I had built around me had actually been trapping me into this life where I wasn't fulfilled. There was no amount of money that was going to bring me joy because I didn't have that sense of freedom. And my personal life and my business life had not been integrating well. So I've been checking off all these boxes and to the outside world, to the consciousness of the world, technically, I should feel really successful. This is what they told me to do, and this is what I did. And so here I was in the closet and completely feeling unfulfilled, unhappy. I built a business where I was a slave to. Instead of having the freedom that I was craving, if I left my business for a Long vacation, forget it. I'd have to come back and kind of put some fires out or whatever the case was. And so soon enough, I really realized as I was sitting in this closet, feeling all the feelings, I realized that this business that I had built that was quote unquote, successful in this life that I'd built, those quote unquote successful was actually more of a self sabotage. It was, it was, it was grinding me into the ground, into the ground. And I, it was, it felt more like a self sabotage than something beautiful that was supporting people and helping people and giving jobs and whatnot. So I remember in that moment where I made a decision that I was going to do things differently. And I don't mean differently, like let's set another smart goal. And because that was my, the usual thing that I had done in the past and my businesses. So I walked out of the closet and I started to write down a version of business and businesses that would be freedom based. And I started to write down the version of life that would be really juicy for me to experience. And I wrote down in, at the very beginning, I wrote down I wanted a part time brick and mortar. So part time practice that was collecting a million dollars, I was going to drop insurance, make some changes in the practice. And then I also wrote down that I wanted to start another company that would generate passive income of another million, which I ended up doing at the time. And then from a life perspective, I wrote some goals. I want to contribute to the world in a bigger way. I wanted to have a bigger impact. I wanted to be in a really healthy, loving relationship. I wanted to travel the world. I wanted to. So I wrote this list of things that seemed completely unreasonable at the time. So the version of me that was sitting in the closet, or the version of me that had built the first business could not make those things happen at all. They seemed just completely out there. And that's really the very first thing that I teach my students is having a big unreasonable vision for your business, for your life. Because if you're setting a kind of goal that is achievable, is measurable, is realistic, does not require a different level of identity for you to get to. It does not require an evolution for you to get to. So long story short, in that journey I ended up, and this is the scariest part, because things were semi working, I had a good life, so.
And everybody else would feel that too, right? Like, how dare you. Look at how great you're doing, right? Not necessarily how you feel.
Yeah, absolutely. And so looking at that, I had to eliminate a lot of things that were, quote, unquote, working. And that became a really big part of the process. So as I moved along in my life, looking back in the past 10 years, I call that a quantum leap, because I walked. If I had kept doing the things that I was doing, my future was very predictable in business. I would have had some growth, I would have maybe opened up other practices, whatever, but my life and my businesses, very predictable future. But because of the decisions that I made and the steps that I took differently than what I had been doing, I was able to quantum leap, create three other businesses on top of what I had done, and then tap into some virtual businesses, create more freedom, and then create the life that I wanted to create. But every single one of those required a different version of myself. And so looking back, and this is where I developed the framework. Looking back, every single time that I did those, the quantum leaps, if you would, they took exactly four steps to.
Get there 100% well. And I want you to share those in a minute. But I want to share a similar experience that I had now. It wasn't necessarily on the, you know, reconsidering, you know, life and what, what it meant, but I know I went through an acquisition a few years ago where we brought on, you know, 20 to 30 team members, and they were all remote. We were trying to learn how to incorporate our business into the. Into the online space and learn from that sort of environment. And I remember having very similar I need to reinvent myself conversations of, you know, I'm not the leader that this business needs right now. I need to understand what that leader looks like, and I need to come up with a path of how I get there as fast as possible, because otherwise it's not going to work. And I remember having to reinvent myself in that capacity, and it was really challenging. So I know when you have to put, you know, look in the mirror and go, this is not what I wanted, and this is not going to work going forward. We need to reinvent. It's a scary moment for people, and I would challenge that. Most entrepreneurs on their journey are going to have some moment of reflection where they go, either this isn't working, it's not what I signed up for, or I need to change who I am if I want to get to another level. So completely appreciate that story. Can feel that emotionally. You know, that hits home. It probably hits home for, for everybody on how we get impacted along this journey. But thank you for sharing that. It's incredible. Before we get into maybe looking at what that framework looks like. I know. And this maybe ties into some of your story as well. The work life balance as a CEO, you know, is really challenging. And I know I tell some of my junior team, you know, that I. There were nights, many nights annually, especially during a busyness of a personal tax season, that I wouldn't go home, like, I would work straight through. And. And they can't even believe that that was a thing. And I'm like, it wasn't that long ago. I've been doing this for 18 years. But, you know, we're talking in the last three to four years. That has still happened every now and again, and it's not good. So what are your pieces of advice or guidance on how we can scale our business without burning out as a CEO?
You know, I, I loved how you shared about the, the identity piece that you had to become a different leader. And I think it plays a role in here because most of us, to go from owner to CEO or to go from, you know, practitioner being in, or manager, being in our businesses to go into being the owner or being the CEO is a complete identity shift. And balance is not when you're working in your business. Balance is when you have the opportunity to work on the business. And that in itself is a complete identity shift. Now, most people that are listening to this, I would say almost everybody I've ever talked to, including myself, we were told to work hard to be successful. I mean, we were told money doesn't grow on trees. We were told that in order to accomplish any level of meaningful success, you have to struggle. The hustle culture is extremely strong. And trust me, I've, I've been there too. So with the consciousness of the world and how we were brought up, I mean, imagine those are the things that are just engraved in our nervous system, right? We have an association of struggle and working hard with success. So, you know, I think a very commercialized piece of science is Pavlo's dog, right? They ring the bell and they give the dog a cookie and there is saliva. They ring the bell, they give the dog a cookie, There is saliva, they ring the bell. There is no cookie. Eventually, there is saliva if you do that long enough. So what does that mean and how does that relate to entrepreneurial ship is that those are the nerves that are running together that have wired together. That's why there is saliva without the cookie every single time, because the neurons are working together, together now. So for the typical entrepreneur, these are the wires that have, these are the nerves that have, have wired together is if there is no struggle, I don't feel success. If there is no struggle, I'm not going to bring in the level of success. So if my meaning is, or my foundation is, I have to struggle to bring success well, even at the next level, even at a quote unquote massive level of success, I'm still going to be struggling. And if I associate, you know, struggle with working too many hours, then that's going to take away from my, you know, from the hours with my wife or with my kids or with my husband, whatever the case is. And so that's where the balance gets lost. So one thing I teach my entrepreneurs is go, okay, what, where do we need to go next? What are the neurons that we need to make sure are what are wired together well, what if we anchored ease with success? And for most people it's like I will have a panic attack if you tell me that, you know, I have a mastermind called One Week a Month Mastermind where we teach entrepreneurs how to scale and grow in just one week a month. Right. These are high level entrepreneurs. Most of them are in the mastermind because they can't sit still for more than five minutes. Right. And this, that's a very typical struggle of the entrepreneur. All of that has to do with the neurology. There's the addiction of the emotions of I have to do to be worthy, I have to do to be successful. And the reality is it's, it's not like that. I know you deal with so many super successful entrepreneurs and business owners and we both know that there are entrepreneurs that are, you know, heavily involved and work. Elon Musk you or like sleeping and.
Not going home for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And there are also entrepreneurs who have an easier time and it all has to do with how they're seeing their definition of success, for sure.
And I, you know, it's even, it's interesting. It's almost like everybody has to go back to your moment in the closet and have that experience where we need to write out what it is that we're looking to achieve, you know, And I know you're saying smart goals was, you know, an element of running your business and that was something that you wanted to maybe get away from in that moment. But it's like, well, it is essentially part of it. It's like, here's the next level of goal. Like, let's forget the framework for a minute, but let's find out exactly what we Want to be successful, like, what are we trying to achieve? And you're right. You know, we work with, I'm going to say, about 2,500 entrepreneurs annually within all facets of our business. And some of them are working hard and grinding, you know, a part of that culture. And some are not, you know, some have found ways to really leverage assets and maybe, you know, those, those that are working maybe less hours are finding ways to digitize and automate a lot of things. And it's completely possible. Right. So what is it that people are wanting? And I think we have to be clear on that in order to get, to get to where you want to go. So. Yes, I love that. That makes sense. Tell me more about your, your event that you have where you have entrepreneurs out there and you're focusing on this.
Yeah, we, we host about four, three to four retreats every year. And the focus of the retreat is really retraining the nervous system of the entrepreneur to feel, find safety and regulate to the next level that they have for their business. So wherever you may be in your business, we always have, I mean, just the nature of the entrepreneur. We always have a next level. There's always the next thing. We hit the goal and we're like, all right, what's next? And the first thing that needs to happen is the nervous system has to find safety in that. So what, even what you were doing in shifting the identity or recognizing, I have to become different, completely different kind of leader to, to kind of take over this. All of that has to do with my nervous system has to feel safe in this next level leadership. Otherwise I'm going to self sabotage back to where I was. So I use tools and obviously it's an immersive experience. So we have, you know, depending on the retreat, if we've done it in Tulum, we do it in United States. Next year we're going to Rome. But it will always be immersive. It's like three days of rewiring the nervous system to that next level. And a lot of it is vision casting that next level unreasonable, dreamy life business that we are looking to get to.
I'm a little bit envious of your time spent studying neurology. You know, the, the human brain is just something that I wish, like I dive into every area that I can, but I just never had the ability to really jump in and understand how these things work. And you know, super powerful to work with people like you who, who understand how to help people break through in that way and what A very impactful sort of event that you have. Congratulations on that. That's really exciting. I wanted to actually just step back on the, on the evolution that I had from being the next level leader. You know, I, I feel like. And this is what you're helping people to do. So it's super powerful. I had to actually go through another one. Over the last two years, I've had to go through two. And you sort of enhanced or touched on the second one. But that was going from being, you know, the professional, the expert to being the CEO. First one was understanding how to be the leader that the team needed to lead. The second was to give up, you know, my identity as a professional. That one. I actually, I. We had our annual. And I'm sharing this because I know it's. It's tough for people and it was tough for me. Um, we have our annual training. We had it in town this year. There were 110 of us that were here. And it was a little bit emotional sharing with everybody that that's something I had to give up this year. And, you know, it was emotional because that was tied into who I was. Right. Like 18 years ago when I started my business like you did. Being the chiropractor, giving that up is hard because that's, you know, who we come to be. But it's important having those moments and reflecting on where it is that you want to go and being able to identify and say, I do need to shift here to this next level. Yes, it might cause some pain, but overarchingly it's going to be really beneficial in the end. So I can share that. I did go through that transformation and I'm still here and I would say maybe more powerful than ever. Right. Coming through that and learning about yourself. And so it is powerful. So thank you for doing all that you do to help entrepreneurs.
Thank you. I think you're right on. The identity shift is required for every Quantum Leap because if there is no identity shift, like I said, the future is very predictable. And it is scary because a lot of self worth and validation comes from my previous identity. So whether it's the professional or the chiropractor or the coach or so any Quantum Leap I have to make happen, there are parts of me that have to die and it's. It is painful.
Absolutely. So what a wonderful tie in. So you have this process, this framework that you talk to or speak to about the quantum Leap and you identify four steps. Would you be able to share that with us?
Yeah, I would love to I'd like to define a quantum leap too, please.
Yes.
That we can kind of get on the same page. Because you say quantum leap, it sounds a bit woo. But if you look into right. People are like, what are we talking about at Quantum Leap? I was told there's a TV show that was called the Quantum Leap that I've never even seen. But the. A quantum leap. If you look into quantum physics, when there is a particle that goes from one layer into another layer. So that quantum jump that happens in a quantum physics perspective at a, you know, atomic level, practically, that, that jump does not require more work. The, the jump for the particle to go from one layer to the other does not require more work. What it does require is a different energetic state. So when you step into the CEO, from the owner or from the professional to the CEO or whatever the title may be, that shift is not necessarily in doing more things. That's an energetic shift that happens. And that is what, that is really what the definition of a quantum phys in quantum physics, definition of a quantum jump is. And so translating that into what entrepreneur, what an entrepreneur might be experiencing is to go, okay, what is the energetic shift that needs to happen in order for me to go from this point in my life, whatever version of your closet may look like, to the next version of my, my life and my business, in leadership in, to my team, to my company, whatever the case might be, or complete pivot in different companies. What are some things that energetically I need to shift to show up as a whole different version of myself with a really, you know, different result? So I always say, what if you, you want wildly different results, you've got to do wildly different things. But that also comes from being a wildly different version of yourself. So that, that's my definition or that's the definition of a quantum. Hopefully that, that lands back to science.
Right. We can, it's pretty hard to argue with science. No, that lands well, it's great.
Yes. So the very first step in a, in a quantum leap is actually having a vision that's outside of the comfort zone. Again, this is not me saying do not set smart goals. Obviously, if you're in business, you are setting smart goals, but what you need is something bigger that pulls you. So you need something that seems unreasonable so that the next three steps that I'm gonna share actually make sense to you. Now, that next level vision that you may have for your business or your life, it only seems unreasonable from where you are sitting. So you know who you were, Rob, in your Old identity as the professional. If all these other things hadn't unfolded, that next level would seem so unreasonable. Which is exactly why we set a vision that's unreasonable. And I encourage entrepreneurs because we tend to be. When I talk to entrepreneurs, they're like, yes, these are the things for my business. And then I go, what about for your marriage? What about for your kids and your family and where do you want to live and what kind of things you want to personally experience? So I encourage entrepreneurs to create a crystal clear, unreasonable vision for their life and their business, an integrated version of it, so you don't end up, you know, working and overworking, but you're really doing that as a tool to create the life and the level of contribution that you'd like to have for your family and your community as well. So that's the very first step in the process. The reason this is, this is a really important step is because you're giving your nervous system something to mentally rehearse and to get state to feel safe around or in that area. Like I gave the example of one week a month entrepreneur, the mastermind. One time one of our members was kind of describing this really beautiful life and business where she only works one week a month and her team's running everything and she has a beautiful exit and all of these things. And I said, with all due respect, I could come into your business and give you all of that and give you that lifestyle. And I know her obviously a bit, but I said, you're gonna have a panic attack and you are going to self sabotage yourself back to hard work and back to this thermostat. And whether it's a dollar amount or amount of work that you're putting in or whatever, you would self sabotage right back to that previous identity or previous way of doing things. Unless your nervous system has had a chance to really mentally rehearse that experience of a next level. Because ultimately we, from a neurological perspective, we only experience what we have experienced in the past is, is why people get into toxic relationships over and over. This is why people get into the struggle habits over and over. So if we want to experience ease and we haven't, we have to give that to our brain and neurology over and over again. So the very first step is a crystal clear vision.
I love that. And you know, would you. And it's a lot like it's a. That was a very in depth sort of perspective on it. Would you tie this in as well and not to sort of road stop you from getting into 2, 3 and 4. But would you tie this in as well as being very clear on the purpose of why it is that you do what you do in your organization? Like would you say that as you're reflecting on this, like it shouldn't be your identity, that's the business, but like should we be doing that same sort of reflection on the business identity and saying what is really the purpose of this? So that we're getting clear on maybe a separation too? Is that something, something?
Yeah, absolutely. So in the, the vision, the way that I teach it, I didn't want to get into too much detail, but the way that I teach it is first of all it has three categories. So there is the category of wealth. So this is one category, wealth, lifestyle, contribution. So this is the purpose of the business. Whether it's you're going to serve a non profit or the business itself is serving people in the way that it's serving people. All of that will go in there. The second is in the area of health, so mental, emotional, spiritual health. And then the last, not any particular order, is connection. So how are you connecting to yourself? How are you connecting to your higher self, your version of it and how are you connecting to other people? This be your team members, the people that you are serving, obviously your spouse, your kids, your family members and things like that. And there's a whole process I go through. For example, one of the things that, that the brain really needs to feel safe in that next level is actually emotions. So the limbic system which just sits in the back of your brain needs to be activated in the vision casting process. So most entrepreneurs were left brained. Right? So we go, these are the things, these are the numbers I'm going to hit. But there is no right brain activity there. And that does not engage the limbic system. And so, and that's why it doesn't stop stick. That's why we get stuck at a certain level. So in order to do that in the vision casting process, just in step one, you'll incorporate the kind of impact which is, you know, typically the why. Right. The kind of impact that you are generating in, in the lives of people that you are serving.
Beautiful. Okay, I won't interrupt again.
No, I just want to make sure.
I cover all that's, that's, it's beautiful. Yeah, that's really, that makes so much sense. And you know, the fact that you're bringing science back to this is, you know, that would be, those would be the areas that I continue to try and study in to Be like, how do we take this, you know, process driven, goal setting strategy to the brain and the emotions. And you're doing a wonderful job sort of sharing and explaining that. So amazing. Okay, what's step two?
Okay, step two is a lot of what we already talked about, which is identity. Right. So I have to actually sit down and contemplate on the next level leader that I need to become for that, that dream business that I just wrote up. Right. So let's say I determine this is my next level and I describe it and I write it down, well, who do I need me to become? And that's kind of what you described so beautifully that you've done.
Where were you two years ago? Yeah. No, I'm just kidding. Yeah, it's. Yeah, for sure. It's. That's amazing. Okay.
Yeah. So step two is. Okay, well, what does the identity of the version of me that's living that life and is at that next level of leadership and business, or, you know, owner to CEO, whatever the case is, what is the identity of that individual and writing down the trades? And you can do this by, you know, I could do this. Look at, look at Rob. What do I love about Rob and how he's running his business and how he leads his team and how he's been able to make these quantum leaps. And I can identify the pieces of, of the traits that Rob, that you have. And I could say, okay, these are the things that I would like to embrace and express more of. And then there are also parts of, you know, if you're listening to this, there are parts of your identity that are not serving you. So you might have a sense of control that is holding you back from expanding. So obviously there are parts of the identity that need to be let go of, that need to die. And then there are pieces of the identity that we need to express more of. So in this step we're contemplating and sort of coming up with what are the things that I need to, you know, have in a package to be able to get to that next level?
Amazing. Okay, love that. Okay, okay. Number three.
Number three is going to be the embodiment. Embodiment. So, you know, Rob, if you're looking in the mirror, you're like, I gotta be this next level leader. Okay, well, how can I show up? What would the next level version of me show up? What would be the decisions that the next level version of me make that maybe the version of me in the closet or the last version of me as a professional would not be making right this decisions or the behaviors. And so I can, since I've identified the traits in the identity of the next version, I can embody them and I can show up as that kind of leader, that kind of professional, that kind of entrepreneur to the next meeting, to the next podcast, to the next zoom call, to the next sales process, whatever the case might be. And I will say one little thing about this. Some people get stuck on this step because they go, oh, isn't that fake? Aren't you faking it till you make it? And my answer is, you're most likely faking it right now. So if you have limitations, right, that are holding you back, you're just kind of holding on to certain pieces of your identity and going, oh, no, no, I am the professional. I can't be foolish, fake. I can't, I can't be anything bigger because I'm going to be faking it. My answer is, if there is something that is limiting you, you're most likely faking it right now. So get into the embodiment of it. And this is where you engage a lot. Again, a bit more of the limbic system to show up as that version of yourself that you really need to.
You know, it's so funny, as you're walking through this, I'm like, oh man, I totally did this without knowing, without knowing at all. And you know, this is why it's so wonderful working with experts like you. It's like, here's the guided path instead of, you know, making it an 18 step process where you've stumbled now, you know, highlighting the key areas that you need to focus on. And this was one for me. And I know at a massive focus of saying, how do I get more energy, strength, power, health for me personally, so that when I do show up, that I show up 100% every day. And I know there was a huge transformation for me and my commitment level to my own personal fitness and health to show up as that leader, to be like, I'm here, I am, I'm ready, I'm prepared, you know, as one form of embodying that form of leadership. Not that I, you know, I'm not going to be tired, I'm not going to be, you know, out of shape, I'm not going to be sick. I'm going to show up in a way where I can be physically at my best so that I can be as supportive as possible. So you talking through it, I'm going, geez, I was making conscious decisions and I didn't really understand the implications of it. So wonderful. I love that so much.
Yeah. Thank you for saying that. Yes. Because your identity drives your behavior. Behavior. If you are identifying with a fit individual who is healthy, who is leading a big team, who is doing great things well, then your behavior is going to show which, you know, goes into the embodiment. And then of course, the last step, which is taking unreasonable action. And so when I first say that people are like, what do you mean? And what I don't mean is don't go make, you know, if I may say, stupid decisions. Right. Unreasonable actions don't mean making stupid decisions. It means making decisions based on where you are headed. So if you already have a vision, if you've already determined the identity, and if you've already embodied, this step should actually be not that difficult to be identifying the kinds of actions that this next level leader would be taking versus the kinds of actions you would be taking in where you are right now in the current status of your business. So any action that's outside of your current identity would, that is, you know, would quantum leap you to the next level, would be considered an unreasonable action.
So, and I love this, this is beautifully laid out when you think of the unreasonable action. You know, the first thing I was thinking about as I'm, you know, processing all of this is Atomic Habits, right. Thinking of that book and now is this unreasonable action like forming new habits to make sure that these new habits and how you show up for yourself are contributing to who you are and what your vision is. Is that like, I'm just trying to think of actionable items from this too. Is it focusing on, here's the steps, here's the things that you need to do. I guess the main idea would be you can't continue to do what you've always done. Right. Because we know that that's not going to contribute to this evolution of who we want to become or contributing to achieving our vision. So we've got to find ways to start putting our steps forward towards achieving this. And you know, habits was the first thing that sort of came to mind. Is that aligned with what you're doing?
Speaking to A little bit, but I'll expand on that if I may. So Atomic Habits actually makes a lot of sense from a nervous system perspective. Because if you are, if you are defining like success in health, like for me it used to be I have to go to the gym five days a week and I have to eat lean and clean every day, take the vitamins, drink the water. I have to do all of These things to be successful in health. That was my definition. So obviously I was failing week after week, even though I was in the best shape of my life, because I just wasn't hitting the mark. Right. So with Atomic Habits, the. The big sort of concept here is you do the small things that your nervous system goes, oh, here's success. Like, I could be like, every time I drink water, I'm successful at being healthy. Every time I have a healthy, nutritious meal, I'm healthy. So Atomic Habits tells you, hey, give your nervous system, you know, a little, you know, kind of clap and go, hey, great job, you're succeeding, you're succeeding, you're succeeding. And then stack those up so that your nervous system goes, you are successful at health. Which basically means, oh, wait a second, maybe I am healthy. Maybe I am in the identity of being healthy. The way that I have understood it even more to the next level is, wait a second, if I identify. So it's kind of flipped over and I trickled down effect. If you would. But if you. If I identify with a fit individual, like we all have those friends, I. Sadly, I'm not that friend. But I have friends who are gym rats and they identify with being healthy. And somehow they will always find a way to get a healthy meal. They always find time to go to the gym. They never once in January sat down and wrote, I'm going to the gym five times a week. Why? Because that's part of who they are and that's how they identify. So for me, an easier way to quantum leap in reshifting any habits actually starts in the identity. So who do I want to become? And then tapping into the identity of a fit individual of the next level entrepreneur, next level mom, next level wife, and then the behavior follows that.
Well, that is beautiful. The four steps to the quantum leap, which I think is a fantastic framework, I don't want to go any deeper on that because I feel like you did such a great job articulating it and providing us really valuable, implementable sort of concepts that we can characterize in our life. We can think about, we can plan about, we can create this new vision. So I love that. Thank you for sharing that because I can imagine that there's a lot of time and effort developing this framework and research and science behind it. It's. It's wonderful. And I know even just considering it as an individual and saying, how can we implement this quantum leap into our own lives? I know it will be impactful for anybody who heard you share it. So thank you for that. I know we've spent a good amount of time focusing on this, but I want to just maybe ask you one last question. As an entrepreneur yourself and working with entrepreneurs, helping them have quantum leaps and finding that new level of success in their life, finding the life that they're really truly looking to try and build, what would one really key piece of advice be for entrepreneurs in helping find that really that dream life?
To find the vision or to go get it. So I think the, you know, I, I was asked the same question differently. I was asked where do people get stuck? Which I thought was, was also an interesting question. So in this process of having a vision for the next level dream life or vision business that they have, and then getting to the end result of a quantum leap of being there and collapsing time, getting there a lot faster, where do people get stuck? Well, my first answer was immediately. I can tell you every single time people get stuck in the very first step. Most entrepreneurs I work with are extremely successful and they already have goals. They have goals. This is not what we're talking about. A vision beyond the reasonable. That's where they get stuck. And this is where I would say start with three to five things that you know you would like to experience that's out of, outside of your current reality or outside of the reasonable things to accomplish. Start there and then expand it. And the second place people get stuck is as you move through the four steps, there's a lot that needs to be eliminated. Now this might be people in your circle of influence that are not serving or there's lack of alignment, people on your team that need to go. People that, and not just people, but also tasks and things that you are doing. A lot of things need to be deleted or delegated or automated. That's a different conversation. But that's another space where people get stuck. So recognizing that, okay, that might be coming up and I gotta become aware and be able to pass through that is also really important. So the vision and eliminating what's in the way of getting to that vision.
Eliminating roadblocks, I love it. Yeah, we, we can all get caught up in that as well. And I think, you know, even just hearing you speak about this, it's almost, you know, shifting the perspective and being open minded too. Because I know a lot of times business owners are like, no, I've got a plan. And this is, I just got to stick to the plan. It's like, okay, well, yes, but there are other ways to see the plan and there's other ways that we can incorporate a vision into accomplishing your goals. It doesn't have to be the one set way that you've always had. Let's continue to be open minded, continue to learn from others, especially people who've been able to find that level of success in their life and maybe some ways that we've been missing out and being open to hearing that feedback. Everybody, this is Dr. Nona Javid, who is absolutely a wonderful source of information as a business coach. Also, you know, we're seeing a little bit of the science come into this and the neurology background is certainly coming through, which is amazing because really that's how we all sort of interact. I just want to thank you so much for coming and sharing with us today. Certainly profound steps on how we can, you know, look at adjusting or taking the next step in our lives to making it better and improving. How can people get a hold of you or where can they find you?
I think that my website is easily searchable. Also a really good place to connect personally might be on Instagram. That's kind of where my team and I put a lot of free resources in there. And if they happen to resonate with this conversation, they want more of a training or guide. I have tons of free resources that I'm happy to share with your audience. So they just have to kind of send me a message and, and say, hey, I listened to this podcast and you know, and here's what resonated and I'm happy to share whatever valuable thing it might be in that case with them.
I love that. And so we're going to make sure that we include in the show notes any of that contact information. Now, you mentioned you also have a podcast as well.
I do, I do have a podcast and it's shockingly, it's called the Unreasonable Life podcast.
That is so on brand. I can appreciate that. And so where, where can we find that podcast? Is it on all the major.
