Sell Your Art Without A Gallery

Lennon shares three ways artists can sell directly without galleries: show who you are beyond your process, build an email list you own, and run timed sales cycles with clear start and end dates to create urgency. He offers a free audit tool for artists who comment "quiz".

Let's talk about 3 ways that artists can sell their work online without needing the approval of a gallery. Because between you and me, you getting approved by a gallery or a market is subjective as all get-out. Number 1, show up as yourself, not just your process. What do I mean? Process videos are great, but they should not make up the majority of your content. They reach other artists. Buyers are going to connect with your why, your mission, your beliefs, your values. The more that someone actually connects with you as a person, the more they're going to connect with your work. Way, my name is Lennon, and for the last 8 years I've been helping artists who make sales in real life take those online by building personal brands that feel really authentic and true to themselves. So as the influencers say, if you want more content like this, don't forget to hit the follow button. Number 2, build a priority list or an email list. This is simply people that are raising their hand saying, yes, I'm interested in your art and I'd love to buy it from you. Your email list is the only audience you will actually own. Nobody can take that away from you, so please Please, please, please be building that thing. Number 3, run release cycles. This means that you're setting a start date and an end date for when you're selling. This does 2 things. One, it keeps you from burning out because it's a lot simpler to say I'm going to sell on this week from Monday to Thursday, and it builds a culture and an expectation for the people that follow you. They know that when you sell, you're only going to sell within these timeframes and they need to purchase now. Like they better get in and buy it while they can. Random posts don't have the same punch because when you're in a cycle, you can go hard for a short amount of time. If you wanna go deeper on building a plan that sells your art on social media, I have a free tool that will audit what you're currently doing on social media as well as your sales plan and give you the exact steps on how to fix the online side of your art business. Just type quiz in the comments below and my little robot buddy will send it over to you.
