Brad Schipke says people with PTSD can recover independently by learning two skills: coping mechanisms for daily symptoms and methods to release emotions and reframe the original trauma. He claims his clients improve faster because they can run their own therapy sessions throughout the day without relying on a therapist.

Is there a way to help yourself with PTSD? The answer is 100% yes, and I would say that is the most important thing for anybody with PTSD to do, is to actually learn the tools on, one, how to actually cope and manage your symptoms, so managing, and then 2, how to actually identify the root of the symptoms and fully process it. And to fully process the trauma at the root, there's 2 things you need to do. One is release the emotions, the negative emotions attached to that trauma, and change the traumatic belief that was formed. And that is the emotional and logical journey that needs to happen for a trauma to be fully process. The best way to heal is actually learn the tools yourself so that you're not dependent on any one person for your healing, and you can heal as fast as you want. So if you know the tools yourself, you're able to put in a therapy session per day or 10 therapy sessions per day because you have the tools and you can move as fast as you want. And that's how our clients are actually able to make such fast recoveries. It's because, it's because they are independent of the therapy system and they can heal on their own, on demand.
