How do you tell if you have repressed memories from trauma? Well, you may have repressed memories if you're experiencing symptoms of trauma and can't find a cause. So if you can't find a conscious cause to the symptoms that you're experiencing, it's likely that you have repressed memories that you are not aware of. For some people, it's very obvious. They know the trauma or traumas that they've experienced. But for other people, they experience things like anxiety and depression and kind of look back on their life and say, but I can't really think of any trauma that would cause this. So your mind may be repressing those memories to protect you from them. Now, even though you can't remember it does not mean that you're not being affected by it. But the good news is that when you heal, you don't necessarily have to uncover all those memories to fully heal it.
