Why does healing from PTSD feel so exhausting? Well, it's because you are literally rewiring your brain and your body. You're unlearning fear responses and releasing emotions and changing beliefs that have been running in the background for years. And that takes energy. And feeling tired doesn't mean that you're failing. Rest is not optional. It's part of the process. And so after you process something, allow yourself to rest, allow yourself to take a nap, allow yourself to sleep and sleep as much as you need to. You're not going to be like this forever. This is just a season of your life where you need to allow yourself to have more rest. And the more rest that you give yourself, the faster you will heal.
