Why does trauma make you overthink everything? Well, it's because when you have been through a trauma, your brain becomes addicted to control. It overanalyzes, it predicts, it plans every little detail just to avoid being blindsided again or being hurt again. So it's a survival mechanism. Overthinking is just your mind's way of trying to stay safe. But here's the thing, safety comes from processing the root of your trauma. And when you process the root, you teach your nervous system that the danger is over and your brain stops spinning out of control and overthinking absolutely everything. You start trusting yourself again, even when you can't predict everything. So overthinking thinking fades as you process the trauma.
