I discovered you, a few like other big people, but your channel is the one that kind of stuck out. There was a lot of videos. So I had a trip booked to Jamaica back in December and the hurricane, it was canceled and I took 10 days off for vacation. I was panicking, but then I remembered I have a sales job. I could just open my sales calendar and that's exactly what I did. And I was able to make money while I was supposed to be on vacation. I will say it's nice having this job because little things that I don't normally treat myself to, like upgrading my plane ticket to first class, going on vacation and upgrading my room, it's kind of of, I call it play money, which I shouldn't call it, but it's just nice to have the extra funds to just like kind of elevate my life.
All right. So we have Miss Lydia Segura. Lydia, how are you doing today?
I'm good. How are you?
I'm doing good. I was excited to do this little mini interview because you are one of like the many girls that we have in the group and you were pretty much brand new into sales when we first met a couple months ago and now you're doing pretty well and closing. On a very high-ticket offer. But yeah, I guess give me a breakdown. I think what a lot of people may wonder is like, where was your life at before you actually got into remote sales?
So before remote sales, I was running my own business. We were doing really good, but due to health reasons, I wasn't able to be on my feet. So I was out of work for about 2 months. And after that, Um, being out of work for 2 months kind of made me realize like, holy crap, anything could happen at any point and I still need to make income. So I started looking at ways to generate income from home.
Yeah, that makes sense. Um, similar for me when I got, I mean, different, I didn't have health, health reasons, right? But things like that could force you to go down a new path in life. For me, it was like having a daughter and realizing, shit, you know, I don't want to work a 9 to 5, 6 days a week and never see her. But, um, But cool. So with that being said, I'm sure you saw when you realized you had these health issues that like there's a ton of ways to make money online. Um, so what, what pushed you or made you decide that, hey, sales is the thing that you're going to do?
Well, before doing this offer, um, I definitely was struggling trying to find a remote job because there's so many out there and none of them kind of aligned with me. Uh, I stumbled upon your YouTube channel. And that was kind of— I fell down a rabbit hole, realized that sales was actually a job you could make money remotely. And that's kind of what got me interested in calling you and scheduling.
Yeah, that makes sense. What made you open? I guess, you know, if you just do a quick search right now on YouTube, remote sales, high ticket sales, whatever, there's so many people talking about it right now, especially in the women's space too, right? Like you have the So many girls, Shelby Sapp, right? A lot of people that stemmed off from her. I guess what pushed you towards coming to our team with Learn Sales Group?
So initially I actually, an ad popped up on my Instagram about high tickets and I don't remember who it was, but it was not somebody like that's big out there, but it was a younger kid. And so I don't know why, just something just didn't feel right. So I started looking into high tickets and when I went on YouTube, I discovered you, um, I think I saw Alex Hormozy, a few like other big people, but your channel is the one that kind of stuck out. There was a lot of videos and, um, I went, looked at all your videos. I probably spent— I was up till like 3 in the morning watching your videos and I decided we're going with Alex.
Yeah, there you go. It's still a little weird for me when people say they watch my videos because I'm not really used to it yet, but Oh, yeah. What concerns did you have before? Because it's one thing to think like, oh, you know, you could teach me stuff or good videos on YouTube I could learn from. It's another to like book a call and actually move forward with it. So did you have any concerns before making the jump of, you know, essentially investing in yourself?
To be honest, I am going to be upfront. I'm somebody that I'm very open to investing in myself. If I feel confident in it. And after requesting to have my onboarding with you, um, we had our call and I, I don't know, you gave me a sense of like relief, like, okay, I, I, I feel good about this. I can do it. And, uh, knowing how long I was gonna be part of the program, that definitely eased my mind a lot as well.
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. I think, uh, one of the concerns you mentioned earlier too was like, How long is it going to take you to make your money back? Right. Which is pretty normal. So let's cover that. Right. I mean, I think you've been with me for like 3 months. How long did it take for us to land you a role as a closer? If you could remember.
What was it, 4 weeks? I think it was 4 weeks. Yeah.
I think it was by week 3, we're, you know, interviewing. Yeah. We went, put you through the training, right. Doing a bunch of mock calls. By week 3, we're putting you through interviews. I think week 4 is when you accepted the offer.
And we weren't even sure if I was going to get, I was gun-ho, remember? I didn't want a setting. I wanted just, I wanted to be a closer.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
Which obviously you're doing good with closing now. So let's cover this too. You accept the offer a month in. How long did it take you to make your money back?
I was able to, once I joined the offer, I think within the first 3 weeks, I was actually, I closed enough deals to make my money back.
Yeah. That's exciting. There you go.
Yeah.
Well, cool. But with that being said, I guess how, and I'm not looking for a spectacular answer with this, but have you noticed at all how your life has changed since getting into sales, whether it's like personal mindset, things like that? I know you mentioned the vacation, which you could touch on.
Definitely for me doing the sales was just having like a second source of income. God forbid there's another medical emergency and I can't physically be at work. But I will say it's nice having this job because little things that I don't normally treat myself to, like upgrading my plane ticket to first class and like going on vacation and upgrading my room, it's kind of, I call it play money, which I shouldn't call it, but it's just nice to have the extra funds to just like kind of elevate my life.
Yeah, for sure. For sure. Plus having the freedom of like being able to Because we were talking earlier, right? You know, you went on a vacation and obviously can't do your in-person business, but you were able to take sales calls and make money.
Oh, yeah. So I had a trip booked to Jamaica back in December and the hurricane, it was canceled and I took 10 days off for vacation. I was panicking, but then I remembered I have a sales job. Even though I didn't book people for my business, I could just open my sales calendar. And that's exactly what I did. And I was able to make money while I was supposed to be on vacation.
There we go. For sure. Well, I appreciate you, Lydia. I'm excited to see that you're crushing it. Um, and we'll keep pushing forward and growing your commission week by week, month by month here.
Yes, I appreciate everything. Thank you. Cool.
Let's do it.
