Day 3 of the 21 Day Build A Mastermind Challenge

Brad Hart (speaker) presents Day 3 of the 21 Day Build A Mastermind Challenge, explaining why masterminds work through three personal stories (a Bali charity/retreat with the Greatness Foundation; a JV product-sourcing mastermind to China/Hong Kong that taught Amazon sourcing and paid for travel; and a weekly local San Diego mastermind). He contrasts masterminds with courses and events—arguing masterminds are quicker to launch, higher-priced, lower-maintenance, and better for learning—and gives practical advice on running and selling masterminds. The video ends with a call to action to visit buildamastermind.com and apply.

What's up gang? And welcome back to the Build Mastermind challenge. Day three. I am super excited about this. Alright, so day three, what do we got here? Let's see why Masterminds? Let's go ahead and share my screen because I want to show you why Masterminds. I'm going to talk about why Masterminds. All right, there we go. So why Masterminds? So, story time. So I've had the great fortune of being a part of 26 high end masterminds. I've started eight of my own. I've been to places like Bali, China, Hong Kong, Italy, Greece. I'm just going to tell quick three stories about different masterminds I put together. So I'm wearing this hat today because this is the logo trademark of the foundation I'm on the board of. My dear friend Mike Shcherbakov found it. It's called the Greatness Foundation. It's been around for about five years. In that time we've done God oodles of house builds. We do double and triple builds down in a local working class community called Mannedero down in Mexico. We've built schools, we've worked in refugee camps, we've done retreats. And one of the retreats that we did was called Do More Great Things because my brands make more marbles and things Do Great Things. So Do More Great Things out in Bali, which is really exciting. We had about 16 people show up and we went to Bali and had a really blast like with 10 days and did all the tours through Ubud and Canggu and all these different places. Super fun. Highly recommend it. That was one of the masterminds I got to do and it paid for my entire trip to Bali and then some. So that was really fun. China in Hong Kong was an example of a JV mastermind because I wanted to learn about product sourcing. I met a guy at an event by a guy named Jay Fisette. And if you don't know Jay, he also teaches how to build mastermind groups. He's got a program called Mastermind Millions. It's really great. It's one of the first events that I went to. He has like an event and a workshop and a mastermind for masterminds. So I'm at Jay's event and I'm at the VIP reception and you ever just have one of those experiences where it's like a tractor beam pulling you towards somebody, like you're supposed to meet them, it's like meant to be. Well, I had this very experience with a gentleman at the food line. And I walked over and started talking to him. We just fell right in love with each other. And his name is Michael Quinn. So I was asking Michael about his family and about where he grew up and all the things that I normally ask, what he's excited about, what he's grateful for. And I came to find out that Michael runs a business that sells cat tunnels on the Internet. I'm like, cat tunnels? What the hell are those? They're like those little tunnels that you have and the cat runs through, rings the bell. Well, I'm alert cats. I didn't know anything about cat tunnels. So I asked him, like, well, how much money you make a month with this business? Like, 90, 100 grand. I'm like, wait, hold on a second. Back up the bus here, Michael. You make $100,000 a month on cat tunnels on the Internet. He's like, yeah, man. I'm like, that's pretty exciting. He's like, yeah. I went to Bali with my family for six months. We built this muse business. Now we all run it and it takes care of everybody. I'm like, that's pretty epic. So I was like, all right, teach me your ways, master of Amazon. And I wanted to learn. This is going back three years now. And he's like, all right, well, my one on one coaching fee is like, you know, 20 grand or 30 grand. I forget what it was. Some crazy amount of money. And I'm like, you know, I could probably do it, but that's quite a bit of money. And I find I always work better in groups. So I was like, hey, man, you have a lot of people that want coaching, right? He's like, yeah, like most people can't afford it, right? It's like, yeah. I'm like, what if we could get a group together to go with you to China, Hong Kong, Yiwu, you know, all these different places that you've visited in the past, you've been the last three years at that point to source products and then teach people how to source products. And we can make a little mastermind group and everybody will pay their flights and accommodations, and they just show up and we'll do like a six week training beforehand. They show up, we'll be in China a couple weeks. It'll be awesome. I'll sell all the spots, I'll do everything. All you gotta do is show up and shine. She's like, all right, cool. And we became partners. We did a 70, 30 split on that, which is great. And I went and I did a bunch of sales calls over the next two weeks and I sold. We ended up bringing, I think, 52 people. So I was really decent on the revenue end. Paid for my whole trip to China and Bali. I'm sorry, China and Hong Kong. And then I was able to also learn a heck of a lot more because in the group setting we had a lot of people asking a lot of great questions, and you learn a ton more from extracting that knowledge out of the expert's head. So that was one JV mastermind I did that was really sexy and exciting. And then finally, I want to tell a story of my local mastermind. And, you know, just to pin the Amazon thing, I ended up running an Amazon company. We built it to seven figures and I sold my share in it, which is really exciting. We were on a seven figure run rate when I left the company, so that's exciting. But yeah. So the next thing I want to talk about is the mastermind that I run here in local San Diego for entrepreneurs that is just really simple, clean, easy. Wednesday nights we come in, everybody gets eight minutes and it's just free mastermind, free value for the community. We have about 370 people in the Facebook group, many of which have already attended, many of which are planning to attend, which is really exciting, and it's just a great way to serve the community. It's grown substantially since I started, you know, just a few people. So that's been a really great experience and has brought a lot of joy to my life. And if you ever watch that video of my story around masterminds, you can check it out in the various assets we have on the interwebs. It's probably followed you around. If you've been retargeted by us, you will see kind of some of that story as well. So I can put a link somewhere if I remember. Anyway, not. Not a big deal, but I want to give you three stories just to understand, like, why I love masterminds, why, you know, they brought some of the best people into my life, the best circumstances. The first mastermind I joined, I launched a hedge fund out of there. I was able to get published in Forbes. I got in the best shape of my life. I traveled all over the world. Now I've been to 25 countries and 43 states. I freaking love masterminds because masterminds have allowed me to do all of this. It's been in service to others that I've been able to do all this wonderful stuff. So I want you to see that in your life as well. So here are some of the things that, you know, you might say, well, why masterminds versus courses? Well, courses take up a lot of time to produce. It's difficult for students to get results for a variety of reasons. It's really hard to make a great course and it's an iterative process which takes a lot of time. I'm on month six of my latest course and we're still dialing things in all the time. So it's quite a bit of work. They also don't allow for a higher price point. If you just give a course and not a mastermind or some additional support, you're going to have a hard time charging what you can when you give people individual attention, even in a group setting. So I would recommend checking that out. Plus, people are kind of burned out on courses, you know, unfortunately, I'm not saying they're never going to buy them, but they're just kind of burned out on having videos and just, you know, here's a bunch of value you got to sift through to find the things that you need and there's no real support. They want something more than that. You know, why not events? Events are very difficult to pull off. They're very costly. It's expensive to put down deposits. You got to go sell tickets. There's a lot to it and it tends to be again, lower price point depending on the type of event you do. And then finally with a mastermind, you can roll things out on your schedule because the very basic core elements which I'm going to teach you here on this 21 day challenge are actually very easy to implement and don't take up a ton of time. And you can finally get a lot of impact, a lot of income and low time invested because they're not expecting a whole big course to do. And you can create that. I'm not saying you can't, but they're not expecting that. You don't have to sell that. That's not what they're asking for. So you don't have to have all these different assets created before you go and sell it and then begin to fulfill it. And you can begin to while you're getting paid augments and make it more robust over time. So I don't want you to get hung up on vehicle names. I don't want you to get hung up on the various things you could do. This is still day three. Sorry about that. Anyway, just choose the best one for you and start serving people with it and you can continue to tweak it over time. You can always adjust it later. And remember, help a lot of people. As long as it does these three things, we're happy. Help a lot of people, have a lot of fun, make a lot of money. Cool. So again, if you want to go further faster with us and you are interested in booking a call to see what that looks like and see what we have to offer and everything and see if it's a good fit for you, you can jump over to buildamastermind.com and check out the case studies, check out the testimonials, jump on our calendar, fill out the application, and we will rock it with you. But also now we can decide if we want to go to the next step together. So really excited. This is the end of day three. Thank you so much for being here. I'll see you on day four in the next video.
