Day 5 Q&A: Pricing Your Offer

Brad Hart hosts a live Q&A on pricing masterminds and retreats with participants including Sue Wilhite, Joe, David, Jen, Alejandro, Angie, and Bilal. They cover facilitation techniques like hot seats and accountability spreadsheets, pricing strategies for all-access versus VIP tiers, virtual versus in-person logistics, and structuring year-long programs.

Hey, everybody. Welcome to the Q and A for day five. I'm in the VIP section here, and the air is rare and fine. Let's start out with Ms. Sue Wilhite. How are you, Sue? Let's see the accountability spreadsheet. Do you share that with the group ever, or would that be too shaming? No, I share it with the group always. And we don't shame each other. That's not what it's about. And in the hot seat, you have everyone in the group contribute suggestions or just those who want to. So I'm going to answer that live. What's up, Sue? First time caller, longtime listener, can you hear me? Oh, you know what? I forgot to make Mike a panelist, too. Let me do that. Panelist. Hey, sue, you there? Oh, that's Siri. No, not you, Siri. Okay, Sue. All right, sue, not Siri. How you doing, Sue?
Hey, I'm doing great, Brad. How are you?
I'm well. Thank you for jumping on. I appreciate it.
Yeah, well, I've been here all week, but everything was so clear that I didn't really have any questions.
That's amazing. That's the best thing I could have ever heard, because a lot of people that wouldn't share that.
It was really clear. It's just a lot of work. I mean, just do.
You just got to do it. We try to make it as clear and simple as possible. There's no missing steps, I promise. Just do it, and it'll work. Okay, cool. So your question was in the hot seat, do you have everybody in the group contribute suggestions or just those who want to? Usually I have. I encourage everybody to, but not everybody will or not everybody has something to add. So, yeah, I'll just allow people who will. Who will, you know, generally be okay with it. So there's two ways it can go, right? You'll have people that, like, just want to hear themselves talk, and you have to keep them kind of truncated. And then there's people who will never weigh in. And you'll have to kind of encourage them a little bit, give them a little jab in the ribs and say, hey, you know, we'd really love to hear from you. You haven't really said anything. You've been quiet this whole time. I try to be playful about it, but that generally works it out. Then just a little bonus content that I didn't teach here is there's really three types of questions, and we try to stick to the first two. And I'll explain why. So if you've never Studied nlp. There's this idea of chunking up and chunking down. Chunking up questions get you more broad and generalized. Chunking down questions get you more specific and detailed. And then segueing questions move you from a topic to another topic. So I try to avoid segue questions. So when people come in and they say, you know, you're going down this rabbit hole, you're chunking down, you're chunking down, you're getting really clear and you're about to make a breakthrough, and they get uncomfortable or they get, like, confused, or they, they go down another line of inquiry. I might pause on that question. I might say, hey, that's a segue. Let's pause on that for now and then if it's still relevant, we'll come back.
Right.
Makes sense. So as a facilitator, you have to be right on there being like, hey, it's okay to cut people off if it's not a useful question given the circumstance. So that takes a little bit of nuance, a little bit of experience, but you get there eventually.
Right?
Right. Yeah. When I've been in Masterminds before, it was sort of different. People played in different ways. Some facilitators insisted that everybody ask a question so that everybody participated. And eventually everybody got comfortable. And some of them are just like, hey, you know, if you want to, you know, throw your hat in the ring and give a suggestion, you know, go for it. But what I noticed with that is, like, there'd be 3, 4, 5, 5, depending on the size of the group, people who would always contribute and then nobody else does. And you really have to be on it as a facilitator. I mean, I was really admiring facilitators who could, like, keep up with that. Like, it's been three weeks since Josie never said anything.
Yeah, it's important. And that's why having a spreadsheet and accountability and all that is so, so incredibly important. So I would say that's less of a. Of a travesty. If people don't contribute on the question side, then not everybody gets a hot seat. So that's the thing. I would pay attention more, making sure everybody gets a hot seat.
Absolutely.
Yeah. And that's. That's it. And then if there are people that just. There's some people are really sharp, and I love some of the people that come facilitate with my group. Like, I have people who know way more than me, and that's awesome. But you have to balance it, right? You just have to make sure that everybody Gets a voice. That's all.
Yep.
Cool.
Thank you.
So you feel good?
Yes, Great.
Awesome to have you here. Thanks for being on. Thank you. All right, so, yeah. So Joe, the way the offer is stacked, so he's asking about the 297 price. So if you've bought the all access pass in the VIP already, you've already paid what, 294. So that's essentially the same thing. And if you bought the all access pass, you'll have access to all the things that we're rolling out the content. We're going to continue to stack value on this thing over the next several days. As much as I'd love to do free challenges, it helps to have a way for people to continue to go along the journey and make sure that they have what they need. So that 297 offer is everything that you're going to get if you upgraded to all access and everything of course that you got in vip. But it's like VIP is separate and sovereign. Aap, all access pass is separate and sovereign. You combine all of it together, you get this 297 offer. We're going to keep adding and stacking the value as the next few days goes on and you're going to be blown away by the stuff you get. So I will tease more things and reveal more things as time goes on and this will be really fun for everybody. But if you want to jump in now, it's the best price you're going to get, 100%. And if you end up, you know, working with us on our big program at some point in the future, which, you know, no pressure, it's not right for everybody. But if you do, we'll apply that to your purchase. So you'll take that off the top. Cool. Whatever you end up buying any of this low ticket stuff, we're happy to apply it. All right, Joe, did you have any other questions? Let's just get you on live here. Make sure that's all clear. Hey Joe, can you hear me?
Just hit it. Unmute.
All good. How you doing, Joe?
Good, how about you? Good.
Well, I'm doing well, thank you. Did I answer your question or do you have a follow up?
Yeah, the only follow up was the videos go away for the VIP as well.
No, the video won't go away for the VIPs. You'll still get the recordings, you'll still get the 21 day challenge, a five day challenge. All of that will still be as part of your vip. Yep.
Ah, great. All clear. Thank You.
Thanks, Joe. Alrighty, next thing is next. Let's do. David, in the current Covid times, what are you seeing working best in masterminds as far as meeting places, people's willingness to travel versus doing virtual meetings? So let's answer that live. David, where are you? And I want to commend you on being here consistently and asking great questions. How you doing, David?
I'm doing wonderful. How are you, sir?
Doing well, sir. So to answer your question, I found it's kind of split and it's starting to get. It was very virtual for a while right when everybody was staying home and everybody was quarantining, social distancing. And now it's starting to move more towards getting back in together. Like people in Florida right now, it's like it never happens. Like there are no masks, everybody's doing events there. It's like back to normal the most part. And then in places like California, it's a little bit more towards that line, but it's not crazy. And just depending on the location and how badly it was affected, like New York, nobody's doing anything.
So just talked to a guy two days ago. He's like, lives in New York and he went to a event in California. He told me. He's like, I haven't traveled in a year because I have young kids. He's like, I'm really excited to go travel.
Yeah, exactly. So it just kind of comes down to that place, that type of people. And, you know, some people are immunocompromised, they're not going to come out for the next two years. I totally get that and I appreciate that my mom's in that situation. My grandmother died from it. She's scared because she's, you know, her kidneys are jacked up and she's on dialysis. So that's going to be a, you know, a huge issue for her. And I don't blame her. Like, she doesn't want me to visit for the holidays, so I really get it. So you just got my mom got your people.
It's really interesting because my mom got dengue fever in West Africa a year ago. She got something similar to Covid three months ago. Yeah, she. She came back to the US to recover from the dengue. And yeah, she. She actually, like went to Florida to take care of my aunt. So it's sort of those things where she's like, concerned, but, like, she's like done several. She's had several things that killed a lot of people and she still, like, still kicking, but Safely, she travels safely, she's taking tons of vitamins and stuff, so totally.
So it really just comes down to your group, your people, what do they feel comfortable with? And when there's a mix, I would say offer them the opportunities to do more virtual stuff versus having to go to the events, you know?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Like, if I do do live, I'd like to do live and allow that for people who want to come attend live. I looked at the ticket and I was like, this guy invited me to the LA thing. It was like $108 to fly the round trip to LA from Detroit. I'm like, it's insanely cheap.
Yeah.
But then I was thinking, hey, if I have like, and this guy knows some guys in a hundred apps. So I'm like, if there was a meeting of supposed to be 10 guys and only five of them wanted to travel, that's. You totally got to offer the zoom to the guys who either don't want to or can't travel.
Well, now with the technology, you could have people blending. It won't be the same experience for everybody, but you could blend virtual component, put people on the big screen, in the lounge or the conference room or whatever and then. Or the living room if you're doing like a little small airbnb kind of deal and have them zoom in as well as everybody who's there live. You just have to get the audio, visual equipment to make that make sense.
Yeah, a friend of mine just did. They ran a mastermind group, I think it's this weekend actually, and they rented some mansion for just like $500 a day. And I got it for three days in Scottsdale and I'm like, holy crap. Like, I think the thing has a four or five bedroom house. I was like, that makes a lot more sense than doing a hotel. I mean, you have the privacy, you have like the luxury resort experience without having to go to the Caribbean. It was like, it was a really cool deal.
Yeah, I do that often. Actually. We had three or four masterminds in 2019 that were based in houses that I had rented for the day because I thought they were cool house. I wanted to do a mastermind there. You know, I'd zoom through airbnb. I would see a, you know, a living room or a pool that really spoke to me and I would rent the house for the weekend, do a mastermind to pay for it.
How did you, how did you decide, like, what's your recommended best way to find cool houses on Airbnb Like I've seen tree houses. Like you can search keywords. I know.
Oh, yeah, there's. That's. That just comes down to the price point. I go for the most expensive and work my way down. That's a good indicator. Yeah. If they're getting 7,800,000 a night, the more expensive, the cooler they tend to be for whatever reason.
Yeah, that's cool. Yeah. Right now I rented a house in. I forget the name of the city. It's Fort Lauderdale. For Lauderdale. That's like half hour north of Miami. But a lot of people. Yes, yes. We did a three day mastermind there and he basically rented this house because it had eight bedrooms and like a crazy long dining table with like seating for 16 people.
Yeah. Oh, yeah, you can find them.
They're really like, look, that table was the reason he rented the house was the table.
David, you feeling good? You got what you need?
I did. Thank you so much for that information.
Absolutely, brother. Great to have you here. Thanks again for the questions. All right, Jen, sounds like you were matched with people further along with that really cool mastermind you were in for a few years. Can't remember what you said. Let it. How do you curate paid groups? You run? People always want to be paired with people farther along than them, but everyone is at a different spot. So that's a really good question, Jen. So let's talk about that. Let's get John here. John, John, John. Hello, Jen.
Hello. How are you? Good.
Good to hear from you.
Thank you so much.
So, yeah, with that, it's easy in the beginning to be paired up with people who are further ahead than you because you're not that far ahead. When I was 24, you put me in a room with anybody almost that was older than me and they probably were more accomplished than me. But in that next three years, I made leaps and bounds. I started a hedge fund and was successful at it and I traveled the world and I did all these really cool things that gave me a lot more experience than the average 27 year old. So, you know, when you're just first starting out, that's a really easy thing to do. But if you've been around the industry for a while, you'll probably know a lot of really cool people you can bring in. And one of the tricks I use to see the mastermind is I make sure I get a really key anchor expert and a really key two or three anchor clients who I invite for free that I just know they're awesome. And then we build from there. And I tell their story when I'm enrolling other people. Like, who's going to be there? My friend who you know is awesome, he does this, that and the other thing. Or, you know, she, she has this big business or she won this award or whatever it is. That's really exciting. And you kind of see the Mastermind with a few free spots and a really solid expert just to start. That's what I typically do. So that other people are like, oh, there's going to be awesome people there to meet. And at the very least, I'll meet some awesome people.
That's awesome. No, that's such a great way to think about it. When, especially with the key clients, you know, I'm bringing them in and just letting them know that it's for free. But it's. If you, if I could get, like, maybe.
Yeah, you just say, you're my guest, you don't have to pay anything. Just get yourself here and you can come to the Mastermind.
That's awesome. I like that.
Is that helpful?
Yeah. I mean, I find a lot when I do, when I do the interview calls that people are like, am I going to be the smartest person in the room? Because I've been in Masterminds where everyone else isn't near me and they're bored, you know.
So what I might ask that person is like, well, who would you want to be in the room? Who would you want to meet? What would blow your mind and make you super excited about. And then they'll probably tell you, like, oh, I really need to meet somebody that can X, Y and Z. And then you can get creative, be like, okay, who do I know that's X, Y and Z? And I can invite them along as an expert.
That's awesome.
Yeah. So those experts, would you. Because what I, what I did last year was. Or this year, I guess, is I would have my Mastermind meeting and then if I was bringing in an expert to teach, they would come in on a different day and it would just be like a zoom call with that expert where they would do teaching and we'd interact with them and ask questions. But do you do the Experts at the same time as you do your masterminds?
Yeah. So in an ideal world, if we could have no Covid, I would love to do really intimate 20 to 30 people masterminds catered in a beautiful Airbnb somewhere in a nice spot. Right. And in doing so, you get to give everybody a hot seat. All the experts get to participate. They get to show up and actually network. And that's been the most intimate and unique experiences that I've created, is when everybody's kind of, you know, on the same page. Even though some people are speaking and some people aren't, they're all on the same page. They get to interact and mingle with each other and that. That tends to be the best thing.
And I would imagine that's a good way. Like, do those experts come in for free then? Since they get.
Oh, yeah, yeah, the experts come in for free. Yeah. I don't charge experts, but we might work a deal on the back end where if they get a client out of it, then I get a piece of that. And typically, if they sell them something that's completely off of their time, like a, you know, like a. Not a book, I wouldn't worry about that, but like some course or some sort of, you know, ongoing type of deal, I'll get 50% of that. And if it's more of a. They have to put their time in together, like a coaching or consulting relationship, I would ask for a 25% referral fee.
Yeah. And they're not charging you for that, for that time for showing up.
That's right.
That's pretty amazing.
Yeah. This is. This is how I've grown my network so well too, is by being at Masterminds and putting on Masterminds. You know, that's been the hugest thing. I forget. I forget how many people I know sometimes. That's like. It's getting to that point. Like, I'll completely forget. I'll ask somebody and then they'll be like, well, don't you know that person? I'm like, oh, yeah, totally forgot.
Okay.
Yeah, that's. That's so amazing. Forgot what I was going to ask you about that, but anyway, it'll come back to me. I'll type it.
Yeah. If you think of it, just pop it in the chat. I'll have you back on. No worries.
Yeah. So I have some other questions. How do you determine pricing when trips are involved? Do you leave it at a flat cost and then if they can't make it, they just can't make it. Or do you have them pay for their own travel and lodging?
Yeah, so I don't play travel agent. That's one thing I never do. Yeah, that's just too many ups and downs and, you know, it's just gonna be really. It'd be really a hassle. I'll tend. If we have rooms in the house that I want to, you know, if I want to have people staying with us. I'll sell those rooms at cost or whatever just to recoup some of the money, or I'll give them to the speakers as an additional incentive to come and share their expertise. Again, it's easier on virtual. They don't have to travel, but sometimes you could do that. Uh, and as far as the price, you got to make sure that all the experiences and everything is inclusive. And I have to figure out beforehand what all that's going to cost so that I can have a good margin at the end. And, you know, you, you can kind of run it however you want to run it. You can run lean and not charge a lot, or you can, you know, really pad it and try have a huge margin. I've done both and it's worked out fine. It's just a really, a matter of, you know, what will the market bear? You know, like our Bali trip, we were 10 days in Bali and like the ticket per ticket price was like 29.97. We were staying at like luxury, luxury places because Bali is cheap, you know, So I would, I would use a little bit of. There's a word I'm looking for. Anyway. I can't remember the exact term for this, but there's arbitrage. Okay, so you're using arbitrage between cultures, between countries that are cheaper than the US or Europe or wherever you live in order to get the savings and pass that on to your people. So like a $3,000 mastermind, we could do that here in San Diego for a weekend, or we could do 10 days of really incredible, life changing adventures in Bali. You know, that's the difference.
Yeah, yeah. What about for like a year long Mastermind, where, like, I had people ask me that last time. They were like, I really want to sign up for a mastermind that has, you know, a retreat.
You know, in that case, you would do calls that are virtual on a consistent basis, and then you do two to three retreats a year where everybody shows up.
And then. So the cost is built into the cost of the Mastermind.
That's correct. Or you can have one price for the Mastermind is what Tony Robbins does for Platinum Partners. You can have one price of the masterminds, 85 grand or whatever is to get into the Mastermind. Then you got to pay the flat rate for the trips, which is just at cost.
Okay.
And if I'm, if I'm running multiple masterminds, which is my goal, it would be fine, like to have all the mastermind Groups invited to the same trips, Right?
Sure. Yeah. I mean, depending on what the goal and the purpose is, as long as they're not across purposes or totally different, then, yeah, that shouldn't be an issue.
Yeah.
Okay.
You can even partner up with other people that run trips and retreats and masterminds. Like, I have a mastermind concierge that's a part of our group. His name is Shane. And, like, if somebody doesn't have a budget issue and they just want to have the. The craziest, most awesome trip, he'll get it together for everybody and just charge a fee, and that's that. And if you're charging 25k plus, and that makes sense for you and you don't have to think about it, like, he'll get you set up in the Maldives. He'll get you set up in Belgium. He'll get you set up in Ireland, Scotland, wherever you want to go. He'll just put the trip together and individualize it for every single person down to the itinerary. From the point they leave their house to the point they get home, everything is in a little guidebook. Everything is, like, you know, photographed, and everything they need is, like, you know, perfect for them. And they even get, like, a photographer that walks around and, like, takes pictures candidly of them enjoying themselves and going on adventures. And it's like, you never know they're there. It's pretty cool package. So you can do stuff like that, too.
Oh, my gosh. That is amazing. Yeah, I want his name.
Yeah, he's great. So Shane is one of the people we. We refer people to out of the Build Mastermind program. But if you reach out to me, I'll connect. You guys would be happy to do that.
That is amazing. Okay. I did have one more question.
Sure.
Do you have people fill in their own spots in the accountability spreadsheet?
No, I fill it in as I. As I talk to them.
Oh, okay. So at each meeting, you just update?
Yeah, I'm just updating as they talk. And like, okay, what's your. What are you declaring you're gonna do by next week? I never allow them to do more than three things, and I always make sure they have at least one on there.
Okay. And so everyone sees that you said.
Yeah, for a weekly mastermind, again, you don't want to overwhelm them every week. But if they can make consistent progress on three things that actually move the needle forward, they're going to get so much more done. And then if they're just like, you Know fits and spurts and procrastinating, then trying to do it last minute. If they just stay consistent, that's going to get them so much further, so much faster.
Yeah, yeah. So do you, do you find with curating the groups, do we talk about that? About how you curate it or you.
Just ask them, when you say curate, what do you mean specifically?
So like, you know, if you have a group and people are a lot of different levels, is that something that.
We kind of brushed on it. We talked about it kind of in the beginning and maybe day one or day two. But my general thesis on this is in the beginning. It doesn't pay to overly overthink this. Right. Get people in who are willing to pay. And then when you've done one or two, you can be like, okay, this worked, this didn't. These are the types of people I want. These are people I don't want to. I find when people put too many parameters too early on, they won't take action. They'll get paralysis analysis. It'll become clear for you over time who's the right fit for your mastermind, who isn't. And then you focus on those people going forward in your messaging and your marketing and your application and all these things you just really can't know in the beginning.
Yeah, that's true. Okay. Thank you.
You're welcome. Hope that was helpful.
Super.
All right. All right. So Jen, Alejandro, you do hot seats for everyone in the group of 10 people? Yes. They give a mastermind of 12 sessions, one a month doing session, everyone sharing goals, five of the year and they are advancing each month after the session, adding the accountability within the group and having two hot seats at the end of the session. I think I get where you're going with that. We'll talk in a second. My goal is to have five groups by the end of the year and offer once a quarter some cool experiences. Bond amongst the five groups. I think that's an amazing idea. Cooking classes, wine tasting, yogurt retreat, camping on the beach, etc. Unless. Oh, and another thing is like ask people in the survey and the intake when they buy, like, what do you, what have you always wanted to do? Where have you always wanted to travel to like get that data so that you can come up with ideas because you'll have an idea of what would be an awesome vacation. But you know, maybe somebody doesn't drink and they don't want to do wine tours. Or maybe somebody's more into like physical activities or sports or. I don't Know, something like that or they've always wanted to see, you know, football, you know, wherever. Like, I'm not a big soccer fan, but, you know, maybe that's something they've always wanted to experience. And if you have multiple people being like, yeah, that's where my head's at, you know, pay attention to that and make those cool. Okay. And last, having four calls today to pitch the idea with close friends. That's amazing. Well done, Alejandro. Way to take action. So let's get you on here and chat if you have any additional questions that we can. Hey, Alejandro.
Hey, bro.
How are you?
I'm doing well. Thank you for the question, man. You're. You're getting after it. I appreciate that.
Yeah.
Are you excited?
Super excited. Oh, good. I've been taking notes and I'm ready. I have my idea. I think it's like 80% done. Go ahead and pitch it and see and see where it goes.
That's a perfect place to be, man. You got most of it out of your head. Now you're going to go fill in the gaps with talking to people.
Absolutely.
Beautiful. So did I answer your question or do you need additional clarity there?
Well, in fact, it was really clear with your answer, and then with Jen, Jen was asking pretty much my same questions. So I'm excited to call, to have this call today, and then I'll just let you know in the. In the Facebook group.
Awesome, brother. Appreciate that so much. Alejandro, you're. You're a rock star. Keep it up and keep. Keep us posted with wins and everything that goes on with these calls.
Let's do it. Thank you.
All right, have a going. All right, how do you determine pricing, what trips are involved? We already talked to Jen. Angie is doing a one day mastermind. Good to start, then do two days, then three days, test my market, how to price it. Let's chat. Angie, let's jump on here. Can you hear me?
Yeah, I can hear you. Thank you.
How you doing?
Yes, I'm excited to start this right away.
Okay, great. Yeah. So I say the first mastermind can be as long as it needs to be, but keep it on the shorter side just to make it not too much. Right. Just the minimum effective dose to get the result that you're promising for those people in that first group. And then you'll have way more data afterwards to be like, okay, you know, this many people paid, this is what I charge. You know, all that. And keep the pricing, you know, a little uncomfortable for both of you. Not crazy. You know, it's a beta. It's a pilot. You don't have to go, you know, out of out of bounds here. But I like the 500 to $1,000 range is reasonable for the first one.
Even for like a one day.
Yeah, totally. I mean, I've been to multiple masterminds that are in the five figures, and they're only a couple days. Yeah, like, there's a huge market for this. It just depends who you're marketing to. Yeah, I have a guy who's first mastermind. He sold for $38,000 a seat, and it sold out for. For a weekend. Yeah. And he was like, he really did it up. It was like, fly, fly in a private jet and like all the whole thing. So it just depends who you're marketing to. He was marketing to hedge fund manager, so it was like, yeah, for him. But wherever your audience is at, then price accordingly. But make it a little uncomfortable for you and a little uncomfortable for them.
And so if it's a one day, what's like, number of hours to spend?
I think people start to, like, with content, especially no more than 4 hours, but with everything total 8 to 10 hours, you could push 12 would be probably bordering on too much content.
And then if it's a two days, the same thing.
Yeah. So the way I structure mine, and you can do this however you like and test it out, but the way I structure mine is typically, you know, we talk about our motto, make more marvels is be more, do more, give more. So we do like a B component of personal development. We do a do component which is masterminding and taking action. And then we do a give component, which is giving back to the community. So that could be over three days. One. One a day. That could be, you know, you jam it into two days or, you know, one day will be a little tough to do that. But like, one to two days should be plenty to start with. And it kind of just comes down to what.
I'm sorry.
Yeah, it just kind of comes down to what. What makes sense for that group and that outcome that you're looking to give.
The content part is like four hours, and then the other.
Yeah, if you're doing more than four hours of content a day, people are gonna zone out, they're gonna get tired, you know, and like, when I do them in houses, I'll always have like a nap room that people can go just chill out for a minute if they're stressed or they want to meditate or something. Because sometimes it's just overwhelming to be Around a lot of people all day. You know, people need different things, so I try to be cognizant of that. Make sure there's enough food and snacks to keep everybody engaged. Make sure there's coffee, drinks, that kind of thing. You want to just take care of people, anticipate people's needs and take care of them as best you can.
Okay, perfect. Thank you, Brad.
You're welcome, Angie. All right, Joe, are the videos. No, we talked about that. Super inspired by the sessions. Thank you. Alejandro. Doing One Day Mastermind. Yep, we talked about that. All right. Do people fill in their own spots in the accountability spreadsheet? No, I do it for them. Okay. So Bilal, the mastermind I'm planning to do has people who are in different countries, so it has to be virtual. Fine. Does that affect the price? Yes. You're going to tend to price that as lower than doing trips. Although you could bring them all together for a trip and raise your price. You know, have them come to the. To the UAE or to Dubai or wherever you want to do it. Saudi Arabia, that's a place most people have never been before. Somebody said, hey, you have this opportunity to go visit Saudi Arabia. I would be into that. I've never been there. I think it'd be cool. And you could show them things that are very unique to that country. So that's one idea. Are there any special skills I need to develop as a facilitator? Yes. Asking great questions. We'll talk more, but I just want to get through these, make sure I don't, you know, miss anything. How would you structure the groups? Is it based on experience, interests? With joining form? Has any classifying. Classifying questions? Okay, let's get you on here in chat. All right. Hello and good evening. Bilal, Can you hear me? Hello, Bilal, you're on the air. Maybe he had to step away, but, yeah, to answer your question, if you can't hear me or if you. If you're having issues at the moment. Oh, here you are. Okay. How you doing?
I'm doing well, thank you.
Good, good. Okay, so I think I got number one and number two down. That's really just practice, right? Asking great questions, getting used to the cadence. You know, we have a lot of recordings you can listen to as well. You know, all that's in the. In the program that I know you're going to sign up for. So you'll get all that. That'll be easy. As far as number three, we kind of touched on this. It just comes down to what's going to be the mastermind. That's right. For the people you have. And that can be a moving target a little bit. Like as you enroll people and the people that you're getting and you're getting their intake forms, you can kind of tailor it more to them. So I wouldn't go in, like I kind of mentioned before with a preconceived notion of who should be in the group because the people who show up are all individuals. You have to kind of take them as unique group and like say, all right, now that we have these 6, 7, 8, 10 people, what's the best experience for them? That's the best way to do it. But when you get a little more experienced at this, you may decide like, okay, I know exactly who my people are. This is their income bracket, this is where they live, this is what kind of work they're doing. And then you'll get more stringent over time. I just try not to get too tight on the first or second one because it's better to just go in and do it and get it under your belt and like answer the questions in real time. And then you can get it more stringent later than trying to make it impossibly stringent to begin with and then not getting it off the ground at all.
Okay.
Right on. Thanks, Paul.
One more question.
Sure. What's up?
It's like I was talking to one of my clients and it's like he was asking me about references for in company masterminds.
Okay.
Like as a part of a corporation, like in the people in that corporation mastermind together. Is that what you're asking?
Yeah. So that's basically for like something like self development, like away from the HR team, management and so on.
Sure.
Is this something that you have done before? Is it done before?
Me personally, I've never had a corporate journey. I never worked for a big company. I'll just be real. Like the biggest company ever worked for was a real estate agency in New York, which is maybe 500 employees. So for me, no. However, I've spoken at multiple companies now, including Microsoft, about how that goes down. I think we talked about this a little bit a while back and I know for a fact that people are starting to do more mastermind type things because people read it, you know, read my book, and they reach out to me and they say, hey, I did this with, you know, my leadership team, my management team. But here's the thing, they don't always call it a mastermind. They might run it like a Mastermind, they do might do hot seats. They might have different elements of a mastermind, but they'll tend to corp. You know, they'll call it like a workshop. They'll call it a corporate training. They'll call it a, you know, professional development group. They'll call it something else. There was another like kind of buzzword that they used. Roundtable. Executive roundtable. Yeah. That is, you know, kind of like a mastermind. But they don't call it that because for whatever reason it's just, it hasn't caught on in the corporate lexicon just yet. Okay, is that fair?
Yeah, it's fair. Actually it does open an opportunity.
I mean.
It'S like more effective than the training when it comes to self development. Because typically people, the experience of training would be lost from people's head in like a day or two.
That's right.
Whereas mastermind experience, it just stays in their heads. So whatever they call it, I think it's a good corporate opportunity.
Agreed. And if they never buy it, they'll never get that experience and they'll never get that transformation. So you gotta, you gotta present it as something that they'll buy in order for them to get the experience. And then they'll say oh my God, that's the best workshop ever been to. Yeah. Because it's a frickin mastermind, not a workshop.
Okay, thank you.
You're welcome. Bilal, great to have you. All right, David has another question. Let's get him set up here. Have you ever experimented with selling coaching that includes a couple mastermind retreats? Yes, I have. Versus selling MM's, loan and or that have a couple of coaching sessions included. I've been debating how best to split test this. Yes, I've done it usually as an upsell. Let me David there. Okay, so yeah, I usually do it as an upsell because I want to make a clear delineation between what a mastermind is, where the mastermind ends and where the coaching begins. I don't want it to be like, you know, I'm giving away a whole bunch of my time as a result of this. However, when people join a mastermind for a year, it does pay to have like a session that's included. Like it can be just an intro session. It doesn't have to be hours, it doesn't have to be coaching. But they should have some face time with you if especially they're going to be with you a long time. And maybe you do one midway through as well and maybe you do one at the very end. Where it's like 15 to 20 to 30 minutes somewhere in that range where you give them accountability, you give them action, you give them a plan, you kind of like get a feel for where they need to go. And this way you're not, you know, you're not on the, you're not on different pages when things go through. But I would, I would hesitate to call that coaching. That's really about getting clear on where they're at, where they need to go. Because. Yeah.
So like 3, 3, 3 check in sessions, 3 check ins.
If it's a year. Yeah. If it's like three months or six months, you could probably get away with one or two. But here's, here's the thing. I actually have a really good. I borrowed this from a friend of mine. It's in my book. If you have my book. It's, I think it's towards the end of one of the appendixes. There's some really great questions to intake clients and make sure you're on the same page. And like, you know, once they've already paid, once they've enrolled, once they've signed the contract, you have this session with them and then you make sure that you understand what kind of feedback they need. What does that look like to them? Give some examples. How are they going to screw this up? Stuff like that. That's really valuable to know. So that's in the book too if you want to check it out.
Okay, awesome. Yeah. Because I know one guy, he, he had like a $3,000 a month coaching program mostly on marketing and sales. He would use that to help people and then some people would hire him for you know, do it for you services or done with you services where he didn't kennedy that he had a 10% on the back end and helped several people build million dollar a month funnels and he got 10% of that. So he looked to make about 4 or 5 million a year from the totally those done with you clients. And then he would do like 3 mash 2 to 3 mastermind retreats a year to create like a sense of connection amongst the client base. And also if someone is paying them 3,000amonth for coaching and they're in a room with some guy who's making an extra 500,000 with the guy services, it totally serves the other purpose. So it seems like looking at a lot of the groups. I read a lot of your initial book. I mean if anybody listening here hasn't read it, like they totally need to read your book about masterminding well, thank you, David.
I appreciate you saying.
You mentioned, like a lot of the groups. You know, there's, there's so many groups. There's Ryan Dice's group, there's Tony's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's 20 of them that follow the model where. That's always interesting to me that some people, like, they invest 25, 20, 25 grand. 15 to 25 grand to be in a mastermind. And really like, they're mainly getting that connection through the other people.
It's a glorified guru coaching thing. Yeah, it's like a glorified coaching program.
But that's the problem.
That's why I want Mastermind. Yeah. And that's why I want to create. That's why I'm taking my stand in the world. And I want to create a world where people really get what a mastermind is and it isn't. And they create ones that are really transformative because, like, for me, nothing has transformed my life more than masterminds. And I want to give other people that experience, which means training people to do it. Right. That's really what we're here to do. Cool. So you get, David. Yeah. What you need.
Yeah, I do. I mean, I'm thinking about selling the mastermind instead, instead of selling the coaching. And then I like your idea of having the command sessions. Yeah, yeah. And if they want more engagement, then I could offer them the coaching. Like, and I offer relationship.
You know, I don't sell it usually as a one off because nobody ever wants to buy it because they haven't, you know, established a relationship with me. But I charge like $1,000 an hour for consulting. If somebody wants to buy it, I'll sell them my time at $1,000 an hour. But you know, when they're a client, they're more willing to actually buy that. So now they get it and I give them a discount. So.
So last question. How do you, how do you. Without dishonoring anyone else, how do you draw that very strong contrast to other groups? Like, this is not going to be you listening to me. And like you're paying premium for a seminar. Because I felt like several masterminds I've gone to, that's what it is. And I'm like, this is not masterminding.
Yep, I agree. And the key is to ask great questions beforehand. Are you saying when you're a buyer or you're saying when you're facilitator? Just so I'm clear.
When you're. When you're a facilitator. Because I don't want to ever. I'm never going to say anything bad about anybody else.
I would just say, like, listen, I've been to a lot of masterminds that aren't masterminds, and here's the reasons they are, and here's the reasons they aren't, and here's what's different about us. That's in your advantage as part of your offer. As you talk about the contrast between yours offer and your offer and other people's offer, without being disparaging, it's just, this is. This is what I offer versus this, and this is why it's better.
Okay. Yeah, yeah. That's a good way to do it. Thank you.
Yeah, yeah. Just think about it. Features, advantages, benefits, stories and causes. You hit all five, and that takes care of everything for the most part. You might have some objections. If you hit those five, you'll be in good shape. All right, so Lisa had a quick one. My pleasure. Lisa had a quick question about the offer. Again, I'm already vip, so is it worth me signing up for today's offer? Yes, it is, because you'll be getting so much more than just vip. With the vip, you get recordings, you get the access to the Q and A's, you get the Zoom versus the Facebook Live. You get the 21 day challenge as well, which we bonused in. And I think there was one other thing which is escaping me at the moment, but with the all access pass, you get like, basically all of our programs that are the, you know, the lower ticket stuff, we put all that included. You get an all access pass to all our content, you're going to get a bunch of extra bonuses. We're going to give you sales training, the marketing training, the additional masterclass, you're going to get the offer creation domination. There's just so much value packed into that. And we're gonna keep stacking over the next few days, so you're gonna get incredible value for that, especially now when it's cheaper than it will be in 24 hours. So highly recommend it if you're not satisfied, you know, we'll guarantee it, you know, give your money back. But I think you'll be very, very pleased with what we put together. And we're gonna continue to stack more and more value. So you can buy today cheaper, you can wait till tomorrow, and I really pitch it, but that's up to you. And we'll keep delivering value. And regardless, for free, if that's not for you too. So you're in the right place and I hope to see you guys on the masterclass tomorrow. I'm really excited to share. I could just give you a little teaser real quick on some of the stuff we're going to go over, which I'm really excited about. Let's do that. Some messaging. So a little teaser for you right now to whet your appetite. My team is working really hard to put this together. We're going to share the top posts, how they work, give you some real insight into that. We're going to do some live copywriting. I'm going to talk more about the bonuses and offer that we're doing. So this is geared towards getting you your first 10 to 100 mastermind clients. And that's again tomorrow at 11 o'. Clock. And you have the zoom link already because you're on it. It'll be on this link again and I can't wait to see you there and I'll see you tomorrow. I think those are all the questions. Let's just double check. We have Jen asking, what are all your offers? Like, what's the biggest one you offer? Our biggest enchilada is the build a Mastermind family, which we'll discuss as well tomorrow. And I'll give you kind of a rundown on that. That's where you work with us for six. We're actually thinking about improving it and giving some additional time. So it's lifetime access to all our content, everything we've ever created, all the expert interviews, everything that we've done up until now, which is vast. It's a lot of content again, that you don't need to watch all of it. But it's a really great learning library where I can point to you and be like, hey, here's the thing for you. You can check it out, come back to me with questions. It just, it leverages my time a lot in learning and teaching. So, like, you get the mastermind component for six to eight months. I think we're playing with. You get the. Hold on one second. I'm just gonna. Just mute one person here. There we go. Okay. You get the mastermind component for weekly calls. You get, you know, Facebook, which allows you to answer questions 24, 7. We get back to people within 24 hours. It's just a really great program. We've had over 100 people go through it now, so it's been really well dialed in. We're actually rolling out a second version of it now after all the Feedback, all the things that we've done. So it's like taking what you've learned in the challenge, just going to the very next level. Like, it's just, it's, it's gonna blow you away. There's all the sales training, all the marketing training, everything to really, you know, bringing in all the experts I know to write world class expert copy, to build and design funnels, to build systems around your business. And you can use that for masterminds or anything else online. So if you're like, you know, serious about getting into online business. I've been doing this for many years now. I've run agencies, I've run hedge funds, I've run real estate. I've run all these different things. I bring all of that to bear in this program. So that's what that's about. Do I share my cell number or email address to attendees? Just to put a pen in that. Whoever asked, I think it was Jen. We're going to talk about all that tomorrow. As far as the pricing, the pricing doesn't make sense out of context with the whole offer. So let's pause on that. If you really want to chat and you can't wait, you can jump on a call with one of our team and they can walk you through it. We can jump on a Clarity call and make sure it's right for you. And again, this is not to pressure anybody or put anybody on the spot. I just want to make sure we're not off the cuff, just winging it, saying, hey, it's this and that and the other thing. And then there's sticker shock or, oh, there's, you know, that's not what I expected it to be or whatever. I'd just rather go through the process and be really clear on that. So if you do, Jen wanted to jump on that. I can have Micah reach out to you and set it up. Hey, Mike, are you there? Okay, he's working out. But if you reach out to support @MakeMoreMarbles and just say, hey, I'd like to jump on a clarity call and talk about the Build Mastermind family, we can have you set up as quickly as possible for that. So that's that. And that goes for everybody. Happy to do it. Because, you know, if we're not clear on all the different components, the prices are relevant at that point. And anything you've bought so far, we can also apply to that. So we can bring the price down for you. All right. And Jen gave me the thumbs up, so I guess I did okay, thanks, Jen. Hi, Jasmine. I think that's it for questions right now, guys. Last question. Angie asked if I share my cell number, email address to attendees as a facilitator for clients to ask questions in between meetings. Yes and no. It kind of depends at this stage. I asked them to go in the Facebook group because they get a better value from that and people. I don't want 50 inboxes, right? If I have 50 active clients and they're all asking me questions and doing it privately, two things happen. Like, I have so much more to respond to and the other people don't get the benefit of my answers. Right. So I love group questions answered because a lot of times people have the same questions and I get to solve it all at once versus individual. Like, I'm not looking for one on one clients, so that's, that's what I kind of default to. So some of them, yeah, they end up with my number. I'm not like afraid to give them my number. I just, I set that boundary and it's clear and we have an agreement that they're going to ask their questions in the Facebook group and I just gently nudge them back to the Facebook group consistently. So that's how I do it. You could also use Voxer. You can use different communications technologies that make sense for you, but you just have to find the thing that makes the most sense for you. Even with my one on one clients, I typically discourage them from calling. I'd rather just have a voice memo or something I can listen to or an email or something along those lines. Or, you know, if you really can't wait, we jump on an emergency call, but that's fine. We just, you know, kind of come up with that as we go. With the mastermind people, though, it's, it's pretty stringent. It's like Facebook support is where we, is where we do it. Otherwise it's like, you know, it's too much going on and it's hard to respond to everybody. And, you know, it's been very rare that I've had clients that have been difficult in that regard, which, you know, I couldn't rectify it. But it does happen. So it's best just to not give them access to your private life. Okay, cool. How many masterminds you run at once? What's your threshold? I would say, I would think about it by clients. Like, I've got about two hours in me. Like, I'm starting to get to the end of my two hours right now where I can Be on. That's my personal threshold where I start to get like a little wonky and tired and cranky after a while. So I say two hours is about it for me. And however many people you can serve in two hours, that's usually between 15 and 25 people, depending on where you're at. You can also have multiple facilitators and multiple experts and break it up. And as long as you're not on for more than two hours at a time and you have a little bit of downtime, you get to take a meal, meditate, nap, whatever it is, you should be good to go. But as far as groups, you could have as many groups as you want as long as you're, you know, prioritizing self care. All right, everybody, I think that's it for today. I'll catch you on the masterclass tomorrow. I'm so excited to answer more of your questions and talk about marketing and messaging and how to really grow this and blow this up to the next level. I will talk to you later. Thanks for being awesome and asking great questions and for being here all week. I can really see you guys putting in the effort. I know you're going to have incredible masterminds and touch people that I've never met. So this is, this is definitely exciting for me and my mission and this is my highest joy. So I'm so grateful to have you all here. I hope this is the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it and that we will continue to help you in the future. So reach out to our team if you need anything, if you're interested in what we have to offer, we can start that conversation and make sure it's a great fit for you and for us and we'll go forward from there and I'll see you on the masterclass tomorrow. Alright, have a great day. Bye. Bye.
