Grandma. Hello.
Hi.
Hi, Janet.
Hi.
Hi, Grandma.
How you guys doing?
Good, how are you?
Oh, good. How are you, Bradley? Nice to see you.
Nice to see you.
Hey, Mom. I told you I was going to bring Bradley. This is magazine for you. I didn't mean to forget about Bradley.
Wheel down to the computer room maybe.
Yeah, yeah, if she wants to go. Do you want to go down to the room and see Brad for a few minutes?
I spent quite a few years in these types of places.
Oh, you did? Why?
Well, life stories transport people, right?
Oh, right, right.
Two years on an ambulance.
Yeah, I know.
And I did.
And I did. I did. I worked straight through these doors in the kitchen. That's where the kitchen straight back. I worked here about a year and a half.
Oh, this is cool. Brand new Mac, huh? Every James Patterson novel ever written. Anne Rice, everything. It's snowing. Nice one. How are you?
Hey, Paul's here. Paul loves his weeds do fall to this place. Oh, this is great. You get to see him. I just gotta say hi to my brother.
So crazy, huh? Paul is kind of the real life poly walnuts for the Sopranos holiday. So got rock and roll. Christmas songs, people, loud and dear antlers.
Oh, candy, candy.
Cheers.
Birthday, my birthday and my retirement and Christmas. I'm going to have to see you for Christmas.
That's right. I'm going to be gone. It's hard to believe it's all gluten free, huh?
1.
Cheers. What are you getting? Yeah, what you got?
Spanish, Spanish, Spanish, Spanish.
A mighty meal. But I took it down right? It's Polly Penguin.
He's so cute.
What's up, Paulie? It's freaking freezing, Mr. Beaglesworth. So I'm just gonna chill Polly the pig. So if you're ever cold in bed, you gotta do a runner. Just kind of run underneath the blankets. It'll warm me right up. So one of my mom's favorite things to do is go in the hot tub. So that's what we're doing this morning. I'm trying to relax, so it's really easy. I read about this in a book called the Rise of Superman. It's about flow states. He has what they call present people, right? The hedonistic instant gratification. People talks about the marshmallow test where kids either get a marshmallow now or two marshmallows later. And how it's a predictor of success in the future. How all of western civilization based on people who have a future mindset or they're willing to delay gratification work really hard for a particular outcome or result, but it causes a lot of stress and burnout and, you know, not enjoying your life, too. So the key is, as he says, Steven Kotler, the author who also wrote Abundance with Peter Diamant, is one of my favorite books of all time. Changed my life in a lot of ways. He says the best thing to do is to mix, right, these two different philosophies on life. So you want the present state, the futuristic state, mixed together so you get the best of both worlds so you can enjoy your life. Also delaying gratification in certain areas to receive even greater benefits for yourself, your family, your tribe and humanity. So I think that's a really key piece, is to not get stressed out too much. So I recommend the book highly and every once in a while, even though, yes, I want to write 2000 words for my book today, and yes, I have to do work for tomorrow, and yes, yes, yes, yes, there's a million and one things I could be doing right now. I'm gonna go in the hot tub with my mom, hang out with her and my stepdad because life is too damn short to work all the time. Great to go check it out.
Sam.
