Welcome to make more Marvels. My name is Brad Hart. As always, I'm joined by Chris Chandler Yates, one of our longest time amazing clients in the Build a Mastermind program or the Bam Fam for short. Very excited to have you here, Chris. He's coming all the way in from New Zealand. He's got some pretty exciting news to share. He's working on a sponsorship and a new Mastermind. He's had 586 clients to date paid in his mastermind.
590 now, bro.
590 clients in his Mastermind to date. He is just getting after it, gang. I love to see it. People ask me all the time, why don't you start more Masterminds? I'm like, because I got people like Chris to go do that. I just teach him how.
Exactly, exactly. Teach me how. And then we do motorcycle masterminds and we do all sorts of cool stuff.
And she's not the only one. We got Christine. She went to six figures and beyond. We got. I just had a dear friend of mine actually join. I won't say his name for privacy reasons, but he runs a nine figure transformational therapy company that you know they spend a million dollars a month on Facebook ads. He wants help joining a Mastermind. I'm like, this is really starting to tip over. It's really starting to become a thing. Only took three and a half years of concerted effort and planning my flag and making it happen. But all my friends that are like friendly now want to hire me to help them with their Mastermind. So that's pretty exciting. So grateful for that. Grateful to serve all of you. I pray every single morning for all my clients all around the world and all you folks out there that haven't joined us yet. What the hell are you doing? Get on over here. Uh, look us up at buildamastermind.com schedule- now hop on the call with the team or myself and we will get you sorted, get your mastermind up and rocking so that you can make the connections, the resources, the opportunities, the people, the systems all come together into a beautiful world. Because you don't need to know everything if you know everybody. That's my spiel. Chris, what do you got? What do we got for questions today? Let's go.
We don't actually have many questions in the, in the, in the group at the moment, but I think maybe we just talked about the power and the impact that this can have. Like literally the flow on effect from just starting one.
Yeah.
The end of the day, you start one and I use the same stuff that I use. Start one that honest. Obviously I learned from you back in 2019, and I still use it to this day to do everything. The motorcycle retreat that I'm filling, same things, the, you know, the reaching out to police departments that I'm doing, same exact techniques, literally reach out to them, get them on a 15 minute call, talk about it, then go, okay, cool, let's talk further.
And just by the numbers, we did a kind of Pepsi challenge between two clients that one tried one way and one tried the other way. So like one just went for sales calls and went to do that, and one went and did market research. The way we teach. It was an 80 something percent difference in uptake, like one person. I forget the exact numbers. I think it was like 25 outreaches, 20 market research calls, 18 sales calls, 15 sales versus the other person. Got maybe five sales calls booked and maybe got three clients, literally five times the results.
Yeah, I did the both. In the beginning, I did ads that ran like, you know, I went straight, I went quickly into ads just because I was able to get that going quickly because of my niche of police officers. But I use the direct to sales call and you get like, I had like a 10% show up. Right. Whereas when you do the consult calls, it jumps to like a 70% turn up. Right. And so there's a massive difference. Plus then, you know, like right now I run webinars. So I'm running webinars. You know, I've got it. So it's an automated webinar. But I still do the consult call. I still call every single person that registers to that webinar. Give them a call, a cold call, I guess you could call it. And then I go, hey, how's it going? How'd you enjoy the webinar? How'd you enjoy, you know, the live training and then jump them to a sales call? So it's the same exact process.
Yeah, and here's the, here's the big thing. Like I can give you the scripts and all the what to say, exactly how to say it, and train you on that. But here's the big idea. People think it's more work, and objectively it is, but I think it's actually more work overall if you don't do it this way. Like if you just take 15 minutes to connect with somebody as a human being without any gotchas, without any like hard sell, without any, like, you know, just asking them about what they're interested in, what they're excited about what they're trying to accomplish, what their goals are, what their values are, really connecting on that level as a human being first before you ever asked for the conversation. It just gives people a time to be like emotionally safe. They don't have to feel like they're on guard. And that's the biggest issue. And we've run into this as a team before. It's not like we've nailed this and forever. I gotta like never fix it again. Like from a leadership perspective, we've had some new setters come on and some of you might have got a phone call from us where it's like a little bit salesy and we gotta like pull that back. We gotta listen to those calls, we gotta dial it in with these people, gotta remind them like, hey, we're not throwing food at people, we're inviting them in for a nice dinner, right? We're not going on the first date and saying, hey, jump into bed with me. It's like, no. We're going to build a relationship. And based on that relationship, if it feels like a good fit, great. If it feels like somebody else would be a great fit, let's refer you out. If it's not a good fit at all, that's totally fine too. We could part as friends. But taking that 5, 10, 15 minutes to really connect to somebody on a deep level first, get clear on where they're at and where they're looking to go and then make a recommendation is a game changer. And too many people are trying to do the fast food mentality when it comes to relationship building. It doesn't work. And I just launched our money mastermind as a partnership with better wealth. I invited 300 people. It's all curated. And I put a list together of all the people that would make a good fit. They're seven figures plus. They want to learn how to manage their money. What got you here will not get you there. They're starting to get to a place where they really need to learn how to protect and grow their wealth, not just to earn it. Um, it's a different mindset, it's a different skill set. So I made this list of all seven figure people. It's about 300 people on the list. I just been inviting them, you know, talking to em a little bit here and there, inviting speakers, putting it together basically on my own dime, not trying to make a bunch of money on this. You know, I'll probably lose money on it. The point is 90% of the people that were on this list did not come from my audience and I have a pretty sizable audience. We have 20 something thousand people that are actively reading our emails in the last 90 days. That's significant. We got a pretty good following. We did a hundred thousand views on social in the last 90 days in our new TikTok strategy, which is really fun. TikTok and Instagram and YouTube and all that stuff. Like, we've been online marketing online for seven, eight years now. Maybe closer to 10. I don't even know. Like, I think we really got started in 2014, 2015. And of all those people that I've met over the years, 90% of them have come from one to one. Relationships I built with masterminds of the real heavy hitters, the really successful people that are seven figures plus and that's where they come from. And I'm so intrigued by that because I'm hearing so many people say to me like, Garrett J. White had a great conversation with him. He said, I've always been playing the competition game. I figured out paid traffic and I just scaled. And he was basically an island. And he was very successful as an island. And now he's backtracking. He's like, hey, I got to build relationships. Grant Cardone, same thing. I made a bunch of money, realized I didn't have the relationships. I want to compete to win. These are my words, not his compete to win. But I need to collaborate now to dominate, right? If I want to be a billionaire and build enterprise value, I got to partner, I got to find the holes in my game. I got to bring on people that are partnerships and I got to grow it. I just had a conversation literally five minutes before this conversation with Michael, an entrepreneur, 30 years old, doing really well in the E comm space, the mergers acquisition space. He's like, hey, is it really valuable to go networking? I just basically explained this all to him from soup to nuts, like, yes, absolutely. And you should be part of Masterminds and you should join another younger entrepreneur helped Cole Gordon build his business. Was the CMO there for a while, same deal. I had like eight calls today. So they're all running through my head, example after example after example. Hey, is it valuable to be in this mastermind or that minor? What's your, what's your best advice for growing success? Like you have. And, and I'm like, it's, dude, it's all the relationships. It's. It's building the relationships before you ever even conceive of a need for them. It's building that. Well, how can I support you? How can I help? What are you excited about right now? What are you grateful for? Getting clear on their outcomes and then making a lot of times a connection to somebody else to, to move them to the next step of the way. And yeah, you can make money doing this. That's not the point. The point is we're growing an army of loyal relationships, people who will answer your call. You don't waste their time, they don't waste yours. You're just there to help. And if you ever need something, it's not even a question that it's solved. Right. Because you as an island is not as powerful as you as an army. So that's the point of building masterminds. That's the point of being a mastermind creator. That's the point of bringing people together. The right deal, the right connection, the right person at the right time can change your life drastically or somebody else's in your network. And that's a way more fulfilling way to live life. I don't want to climb the mountain and realize that I'm by myself on that mofo.
I did that once. I've met more people through, well, your network, through the different masterminds. Yeah, networking is everything. It's one of the things that back when I was a cop, I wish somebody had told me, make sure you stay in touch with all the people that you meet. Because, man, I had some network, I had some people that I was in contact with back then. I didn't keep any of their contacts, didn't touch base with any of them, didn't network at all with it. And yeah, you'd be surprised at how much you have network wise, that when you go to, and especially again, you're just there to support them, that when you need assistance, they'll be like, yeah, come.
They'll run through brick walls to help you. So, yeah, I guess what I'm trying to say here is what we do is valuable. I get that. That's already proven right beyond a shadow of a doubt. But why it's valuable and where the market's going is going to be more relationally based as we go along and less one to buckle my shoe and give me your money. It's going to be more focused on how can we grow together over the long term versus how can I have a quick win and just make a little bit of cash. And there's nothing wrong with making money. I'm not beating up on making money. I'm just saying that, you know, you might be Missing out on the real value that a relationship can create, including more money if you just aim as everybody is transactional and you keep everybody at arm's length. And I get it, it requires a few different belief structures that you may not have. Right. Trust is one of them. Right. I tend to operate under the assumption that, you know, if somebody's in my network and they know people and, you know, I've asked around a little bit, I know that they're trustworthy. Right. I trust everybody until they give me a reason not to. That's a big shift I've had to make. Right. As opposed to the default setting. And humanity is like, I don't trust anybody until they give me a reason to trust them. Well, that's a very limiting perspective. Right. That's not going to win friends and influence people. So trust has to be given in order to be received. So that's one, you know, going first, being willing to go first. I'm willing to add value to you even if there's nothing come back from it. Because I don't believe in the individual iterations. I believe in the aggregate. Right. I know that if I go first often and always and add value first often and always, that I'm going to get 10 times back every time over aggregate. It might not be from that person or those people, but over time, in aggregate, 10 times. Easily. Easily. Just the easiest thing, just plant seeds, right? The farmer doesn't hold onto their seeds and wonder why they're starving. They plant the seeds, they water the seeds, they let the seeds grow, they harvest, and then they have their bounty. So if you're in this community, for brand new to this community, the whole point of make more marbles is to understand that we have an opportunity to play two different games here. And they're both games. You can play whichever one you want. One is Hungry hungry hippos grab for all the marbles. There's only so many. And that's it. The other one is the abundant game. It's let's make more marbles. Let's make more for everybody. And in doing so, we make a bigger pie and we have a part of it. I would rather have a smaller part of a larger pie than 100% of a very small pie. And that's it. That's what we do.
That's why we do masterminds. That's why we all get in the same room, we talk about stuff, and you never know the idea that's going to come out of it. There's been some pretty Crazy ideas, Brad?
Yeah, quite a few. And they don't stop. And when you're that person, everybody wants to be around you, everybody wants to connect with you. You become the epitome of success. And the money is the byproduct of that. You know, all you have to do is just, just when you're in, like, put it this way, an analogy of a car. If you're in first gear, it's hard to get second gear, it's hard to get third gear. Once you get third gear, you start to pick up some momentum. It's actually pretty easy to go to 4th and 5th. And when you're in 5th, just cruising down the highway going 70, you don't have to think about going 75 or 80. You'll do it accidentally, but it's not work. At that point, you want to go a little faster. You just, you barely even think about it. It's, it's not even emotion. You're all of a sudden going 70, 80, 90, 100, you know, worrying about a speeding ticket. But that's the same way with wealth creation. It's like once you get in those higher gears, you're not struggling anymore. You're just deciding like, okay, I'm gonna focus a little more here and make more money there. And it just becomes easy because you're in flow.
Yeah, definitely. And, you know, it all starts with that consult call. All starts with that 10 minute, 10 minute conversation that you have with somebody. Just seeing where they're at. Just see where they're at.
And how can you help?
Yeah, and how can you help? I remember when you first told me to do them and I was like, this is going to take up so much of my time. Oh, my God. From a business perspective, it actually increased my revenue. I don't even know by how much because now people knew, like, and trusted me just from a place of, hey, this guy actually cares about me. And there's, there was many, many calls where I was like, I don't think we should go any further than this. I think that I should, we should just, you know, how can I support you right now? These are some tips, these are some tricks and tools, but I don't think that what I have. What I've. What, you know, I don't think that we should go onto our next call and talk about things because right now it's not the right time for you.
And those are the best clients. The ones that go out, do the thing, come back, hire you, et cetera. Sabo recently joined and I Originally had a call with them, wasn't the right time. You want to go off on his own, do it. And we made an agreement. We said, hey, listen, you think you got four clients in you this month, six clients in you next month. Let's just put a check in on the calendar. And to his credit, we checked in. He hit his first year. He was very excited about our call. He said, I got a lot of value from that. You really changed my perspective on some things. I'm like, great. He didn't buy anything. It's like, cool. If you're not at four clients by this month and six clients by the next month, let's re evaluate you doing it on your own versus my help. And he, he hit his first goal. Four clients, he's. He's cranking. And then the sixth client thing came around. He's like, dude, I gotta join your program. Like, cool, I'm happy to help. And now we get to work for each other essentially forever. Like, I don't kick people out. You know this. You know, once you're in, you pay the price. Like, you got lifetime access to content, you got lifetime access to community, which is beautiful people like Chris and everybody else and, and then lifetime access to our hot seats. We give you priority access in the beginning to get you moving and make sure you have to wait too long. But I'm never kicking people out. As long as they're willing to wait and like, go in their turn, the priority people get to go first. You essentially have lifetime access to me for as long as I do this program. So that's, that's valuable. You know, I'm going to guarantee eight months for everybody that joins. And if I decide to do something else in the future, then maybe I'll install somebody to do it for me or move on in a new direction. But the goal there is to make sure that you have the support that you need consistently. It's like, I have office hours every week. I'm the professor of the course. I'll keep updating it, I'll keep making it better, you'll keep getting access to. But realistically, if you want to show up to my office hours any week, even if you haven't talked to me in six months, I'm still going to help you. And that's the craziest thing, is the people who stick around, like yourself, keep getting the rewards, keep growing their business, keep learning and gleaning new things, because there's so much I can teach you up to a certain point that you're not going to be able to absorb at all. You're just not. You're going to get some parts at some point that's the most relevant right now, and then you're going to master that, and then it's going to be time for a new conversation. But what people do is they. They get the one thing and they're like, oh, I learned what I learned from Brad. I'm done. It's like, no mofo. I got more in the tank. I got a lot more to give. And more than that, I can introduce you to people who do. So it pays to keep the relationship going, pays to keep showing up to calls because, you know, ultimately, at the end of the day, there's so many more directions you can go. There's so many more ways you can grow. There's so many more people and connections to make and more things I can teach you because I'm learning things all the time. So going deep with One mentor, over 50 mentors, is, I would say, preferable because you're not spread too thin. You get more value for your money, and you really grow as a relationship. Now we do things, we hang out, we go on trips, we do masterminds together. It's worth it, in my opinion. So that's my thoughts on that.
I couldn't agree more. I'm always learning stuff from you, just from watching from the back end. I might not be on the calls all the time, but I'm always watching. I'm like, oh, okay, Brad's doing that. Okay. And then I might message you. I mean, we have direct contact with each other because we've slept in a tent. And I didn't kill you for sitting under a blanket with my wife, but glad you did.
It worked out.
It did work out very much. And, you know, it's always that learning. And I always, you know, this is the power of the mastermind. And I know we're going on about it a lot, but being in the right room at the right time with the right person can change your life. That's exactly what happened. Being in the right room at the right time changed my life. I met you, and I've met so many other people. You know, I'm talking with people from your program about doing other things, and it's, you know, building.
We're just going to keep growing. So, again, this is not a hard pitch. I don't hard sell anybody, but there's people out there that need that little nudge, and I just want to make sure they have it there's. People out there who don't get what we do and they don't understand what we're about. I think that's important to restate that pretty often we have a lot of great content, low ticket, high ticket, books, whatever you want. There's so much good stuff you can dive into, especially if you're new. Don't just sign up for an email list and never absorb anything. What's the point? You're just wasting your time. Give it its due, get some value out of it, learn a few things, go and implement those things, see the value in those things and then come back and have a conversation with us. That's what I say. We have about 50 people a day joining our email list right now, which is really exciting. Welcome. Thank you for being here. Some of you are in conversation with us. I'm really grateful for that opportunity to serve you. Uh, and I just want to reiterate, like, everybody on the team's at a different place. We're, we're in different levels of training, different levels of experience. If you're talking to me, you're going to get a different experience than talking to some of my people. Uh, don't hold it against them. That's, you know, me training them. It takes time and I got to reiterate and, and drill the lessons in, but, you know, answer the phones, have a chat with our people, give me feedback. I'd love to get feedback, but definitely explore what we have to offer. Because it would be a terrible tragedy for me to have learned and invested so much over 10 years of my life and a million dollars in investing in development and business and masterminds to not share and pass along those lessons. And this is an unprecedented time where you can actually hire business owners who have real track records, who really know how to teach and really know how to coach versus the way it used to be. Where you were lucky. If you had a successful business owner in your life that you could learn from, let alone have some sort of mentorship and being able to mentor somebody and actually do business at the same time is really challenging. So you have a huge opportunity to be able to work with us. And if you don't align with our values and what we're doing, then there's other people we can refer you to as well. So I think it's worth having a conversation. We're not here to grab for all the marbles. We're here to make more marbles. So definitely encourage you to jump on. It's BuildAMasterMind.com schedule now. BuildAMasterMind.com schedule now. I think it's also at Marbles link apply if that's easier to type in. The main thing I want people to come away with is you're part of a community now. We have a lot of content to help support you. If you align with our values and what we're talking about here, please do book a call and chat with us. And we're excited to serve you.
That's it.
That's all I want to say.
As you probably saw in Brad's email, you've seen posted in here in this group, 586 at the time of that, which was a few weeks ago. I've signed up obviously more people since then, always signing up new people to join my mastermind because it makes an impact. And what I will say is that in the beginning, I didn't know where I was. I didn't know what I wanted. I didn't know how to get this rolling. But I did. And now all I do is I look for one thing. So, yeah, this conversation that we're having, grab one thing from it, start to implement it. But honestly, if you want to make some big movement, big traction quickly, it is the build a Mastermind program. But it's. It's all about finding what works for you. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone and then really moving forward and taking action on that. That was the biggest thing, I think also, Brad, you literally having us put money down at times going, what do you. What's it going to cost? What's going to. What do you need to put down so that you actually do this and actually take action? Because that's what stops everybody. And now I take action on stuff so quickly that sometimes I actually have to pull myself back. So thanks for that, Brad. Oh, my pleasure.
Absolutely.
It's unbelievable what you can do through a mastermind and where your mind starts to go, I look at different people. Like, I look at builders and things like that. I sit there and go, dude, you could start a mastermind for other builders and teach them all the stuff that you know because you've been doing.
I've talked to so many trades people about this. Nobody's pulled the trigger. I'm like blown away. Roofers, fencers, construction people. Like, guys, you need to get out and start teaching your people. Oh, but it's competitive. Are you kidding me? Like, if you figure it out in one place, in America, for example, if you figure out one place, one state, one city, you own that, that demographic, you Figured it out. There's 500 clients out there that want to want your help. You could add another 2, 3, 4, $5 million to your business. Just teaching them what you already know, which will make you sharper them better, and they'll never, ever compete with you. Many of them will probably partner with you and go nationwide. Like, you're shooting yourself in the foot if you're just like, I'm gonna just grab my little marbles and go here, and I'm gonna own. I'm gonna own, but fuck Tennessee. And that's gonna be my only thing. Come on now.
I was keynote speaker at a printing thing that they wanted me at. And literally, one of my things for, like, continual, like, growth is the. Is having mentors and having coaches. And I was like, I asked, you know, in here who's. Who's been printing the longest, and one of the guys was 40 years of experience. And I was like, all of you should be figuring out what he's done. To be able to do this for 40 years and be as successful as he is, you should be picking his brain continuously, because that's who I got, like, to get in the room with and pick the brains, because it is. You learn so much from people. So that's the power of all of this. And it can be scary and daunting. I remember when I jumped in with you, Brad, everybody. There was people making millions of dollars at the time. We had AJ in there, and I was like, you know, and other people doing, like, high six figures. And I was like, I'm here doing, like, 3K a month, if I'm lucky. And I'm sitting there going, and they're doing 3K a day. I'm like, okay, cool, let's use this. Let's level ourselves up. I'm in the room with some powerful people. What are they doing? Let's figure it out, and let's. Let's copy them and learn from them.
And that's it. There you go. And you won't ever be forced to grow that fast anywhere else. Except when you get in a room like that, we're like, oh, I'm a rounding error.
Proximity, man.
What I'm doing is like, let me get. Let me get my big boy pants on and go, you know, or big girl pants on.
And some of these guys I'm still in touch with, I'm still communicating with, you know, I have to take time to time.
Relationships only grow in value. Businesses go up and down. Transactional volume goes up and down. Money goes up and Down. Relationships only grow in value if you invest in them. In my opinion, it's the only. I'm not saying any one relationship right. So don't get scarcity mode on me. But in the aggregate, the only thing I know of that grows with value pretty consistently over time that will beat the S and P. And every other index is relationships. You know, your relationship index. The people you know, times the connections that they have, times the knowledge, the wisdom, you know, the opportunities, the whatever that they have is endlessly abundant. Billions of dollars, trillions of dollars if you keep growing. And every single one you add to it multiplies all the rest of it by that factor as well.
Yeah, totally. I want to call out. Blake Farrell has commented. Sorry, I pronounced him wrong. He commented on our Facebook group, saying how he's been saying the exact same thing, that we are the tradesmen and people and even a printer person recently. So I don't know if he's part of us.
Yeah, Blake. Blake. I know personally from San Diego. He joined our mastermind. He got the value, saw the mission. He gets it. Recently, he reconnected, hired me as his coach, and now he's actually helping us set as well. Like, pretty much all the people who join and get it, they want to end up working with us. So that's exciting, too.
Yeah. I don't know if you saw, but my uncle, the actor Kyle Chandler is looks like he's coming along with us.
Nice. Congratulations. Yeah.
So so long as he doesn't get called up for a movie. He's like, I'm there. He's like, I'm excited. I'm gonna. He's gonna bring his KTM and have some fun with us.
Yeah. We had JJ reached out to plays Daryl on. Yeah, Norman Reedus. He was gonna do it, but he's got filming in Spain during that time, so we'll get somebody really cool like that. I think I'd be fine.
My uncle's, like, 90% and he's like, I'm pretty sure I don't have anything. He's like, there's a few projects that are in the woodwork at the moment, but he's like, if they don't, they're not. During that time, he's like, I'm there. So looks like we're gonna have Kyle Chandler coming along.
Let's go. Let's go, baby. All right, everybody. Great to see you. If you're on the live, hashtag live. If you're watching the replay, hashtag replay. If you haven't had a conversation with us. I invite you to head on over to Marvels link, apply or build a mastermind.com schedule now and have a chat. We'd be happy to get your mastermind off the ground and just generally teach you about how to grow a business in 2022. Not 1970, not 1990. Nothing wrong with that. But it is 2022 and want to make sure that we're along the cutting edge using time tested principles and also brand new cutting edge strategies in order to grow your business and your influence, your network and everything that that is going to help you succeed and thrive in this modern world. I love you. Thank you. Bless you. 30 minutes. We're up. We're done. Hit me up with questions in the comments and we'll circle back. Have a beautiful rest of your day. Welcome. If you're new, welcome. Thank you for being here. Talk soon.
