Welcome to another edition of the Make More Marvels podcast. I am back from the Great White. Icy North. Couldn't take me down. Jay, people were asking me all week.
Why the hell did you go to Canada?
Yeah, why the hell did you go to Canada? That was the first question I get. And I tell them it was 26 below. And then they asked me, is that Fahrenheit or Celsius? I said, who fucking cares? Who cares? It's very cold.
It's cold enough that if you. Yeah, like, there's. There's. And honest to goodness, like, I was really hoping when you got here that because we have this range, like today is plus two. Like. Like that when you were here, we could hit the mountains, we could have hiked a little bit and all the rest, and it's like, screw all of that. We're staying inside, sitting by the fire, plus two.
I like that. That's actually a really warm day in Canada. But, yeah, so I was in Calgary. You guys got some of the story last week. We want to kind of do an update here and also give you a ton of value. Uh, we'll talk about that here in a second. But essentially, we were there talking about Mastermind a million. So Mastermind in Millions is an event that Jay ran for many years. I went to it. It was awesome. It was the first time that I ever, you know, I joined Masterminds. But I was like, hey, I could do this, too. I can create Masterminds, and that's now become a whole brand. The reason 5,000 of you are here in this group and all the amazing people have been through our program are here is because of Jay. And I want to give a shout out to him, but also I want to give you guys the goods, right? I want to give you his brain on a silver platter to ask and answer questions from his perspective. Because obviously, we have different experiences and ways and strategies that we fill Masterminds and run them. So I'd love for him to take a whack at some of the questions you all have been asking consistently, and I'll kind of tee him up, and then he can give you his perspective from his many, many years of experience. So.
And I just. I just want to echo Bretton, by the way. Hello, everybody. I just want to echo, like, one of the great value propositions of doing Mastermind to millions live together is our different backgrounds and approaches. Like, I had 25 years of masterminds in the personal development space before we ever did anything entrepreneurial. I mean, you Jumped into it. Primarily entrepreneurial, digital marketing, a little different angle, all those sorts of things. So for the folks at home, these two things together, when you can discern who your audience is, what your unique value proposition is, you know, these two things together are freaking unstoppable. So I just want to say, it's like I might say shit that is completely different than what Brad said. And that's because I've got 25 years of experiences in a completely different environment. But it's your job to figure out where you're at, how to weave them together, because together they are freaking unstoppable.
So the first question I always get, and by the way, I put the link below, if you guys want to grab tickets, they're the cheapest they're ever going to be. So if you want to come play with us in Scottsdale March 23rd to 26th, go, go VIP. It's the best deal. That's 397 regular tickets. 197. If you're on a budget, you can always upgrade with us later. But I really think you should go with the vip. And if you're looking like, hey, I have a mastermind, I want to bring a table of all my clients. Awesome. We've got packages for that. You want to speak, talk to us. We'll make that happen. So can I just speak to that.
Feedback to the VIP things that literally, we were just talking to our event coordinator this morning. The cost for food, with inflation, all that bullshit is absolutely batshit crazy right now. And the truth of the matter is, if you buy VIP and by the time you get the goodie bag, the extra speakers, the bonuses, the food and.
That, come to the event, hang out with us, have a lot of fun and we'll, we'll have a blast. So that would be mastermindmillions Live. That's in the comments. Okay, so first question that we always get, what is the right price to start your mastermind at? Now, I know you're gonna go off on a little DI tribe. I am. Where you do that, I know it drives you, it grinds your gears, but I want to think about this from the perspective of, hey, I'm doing one on one, I'm getting clients, I'm doing one on one. I need to make that make sense to go from one to one to group and still maintain my margins, maintain the experience, etc. So keeping all those things in mind, how would you approach this?
Well, first and foremost, if you have a one on one practice that is reasonably successful, that means that you have. I'm going to call it latent demand. And latent demand really boils down to this, this idea that there are folks who want to work with you who couldn't quite meet your price point. There's folks who want to work with you that wanted something slightly different. There's folks that wanted to work with you, but they wanted some community wrapped around it. So, so if you're in that spot, like all I can say to you is like, take a moment to acknowledge yourself because that is an epic freaking win. And it's like we should just start with the truth of that. Now the next point, and I'll try to reel myself back. The next point is this, is that you would have to be like, okay, I'm going to speak freely here, Saskatchewan Trumpet. Like honest goodness, you'd have to have fallen and hit your head to not get the math scenario of 1 to 1 at X dollars, 8 or 12 to 1 at X dollars. You know, unless you cut your prices by, you know, a thousand percent, you are going to be further ahead with a well designed, with a well designed package and beginning to gain leverage and some what I'm going to call time and money freedom. Now that said, I don't want to like be just a jerk about it. Without going on the full diatribe, I, I'm just going to say this. And there's an entire process we are going to teach you at Mastermind Families Live called ppsv. But here's the truth of the matter. You shouldn't really think too much about price until you do the promise. Now I'm a big believer in figure out what the promise is, figure out who cares about that promise, figure out the structure to then do the price. So that's my standard thing to this. Now it is possible. And Brad, I never say this to anybody, okay? So I'm gonna say it quietly. You can do it the other way.
Oh, look out.
No, but I'm being a smart ass. But here's the. If you really are a skilled coach, if you really have a value proposition, if you really have this thing called latent demand, if you have all the sorts of things, you could also do this. You say, listen, I want to create a mastermind. And I, and I'm just going to give you a real example of something I'm doing so that this makes some sense. So my dear wife and I have been in a weird personal experience that turned into a broader experience, are in the process of serving, supporting couples to reinvent themselves, primarily Using psychedelics. It's a bit of a weird process, but here's what I decided we were going to do is that we picked a price point which was $30,000. We want 30 couples at $30,000 because by the time the dust settles and all the rest of it, That's a million dollar a year business. 30 couples, $30,000. And then from that position we then backed up and did. So what's the structure that would actually work for that? So this is going to include a personal development program. This is going to include four retreats a year in beautiful locations. Greece, Costa Rica, Italy, all those. So going to put those pieces together. We're going to get access to the purest and the safest materials on planet Earth. We're going to include a whole variety of what is called additional support, like tantra, physical fitness and activity, all those sorts of things. Anyway, we got to hell the package. So the. When I, when you do it the other way around, if you're going to say it's going to be $30,000 for a couple for a year, my stand is this. So what would be worth 10 times that to the couple? So what would be is like $30,000, the biggest, the best deal I ever got in the entire universe because it's worth like a quarter million or 300 or $350,000 in real value to them. Now in our circumstance, and this is a little bit weird, depending if somebody's net worth is $600,000 and we served and supported them through the connected now and forever mastermind. If we did that, guess what? We saved a divorce and that actually saved them $300,000. So I just want to be clear about this. You can do it the other way if you pick and it's like you're being very clear. 30 couples, $30,000 million dollars a year. This is how this is going to go. But then you have got to make sure that that value proposition has 10 times the value by the measure of your participants and clients, not by your point of view. That's the part that matters. That was a long answer, but I hope that makes some sense.
Yeah, no, that's great. I love that. And realistically, these are the questions that come after what is it? Right, the pricing. Just to give some general guidelines if you're pricing too low. It's not a mastermind, it's more like a membership. And there's nothing wrong with memberships. It's just a different offer and it's for a different type of person. It tends not to have that in person component, it's not as intimate, it's not as high, high touch. And you're going to price that accordingly.
A Mastermind, More training?
Yeah. The Mastermind in my mind should be smaller group, higher touch, at least a thousand a month or whatever the equivalent is annually. And you should be thinking about scaling it that way versus a big free for all with like a thousand members kind of thing. You know, you can get to be a Mastermind that has a thousand members, but it's got different tiers, there's going to be different levels, there's going to be all kinds of different things.
It's a, it's a magic trick and a half. And may I just jump in on that for a brief moment?
Yeah, of course. Always.
So, so this idea of the distinction of a training program, of a membership, of a Mastermind, all the rest of. And, and by the way, you can combine these things, okay. They don't have to be, you know, hard and fast lines by any stretch of the imagination. My definition of a pure Mastermind, which you don't have to do with pure Mastermind. You can combine training, you can combine practicums, you can combine case studies, you can combine all sorts of things. Just to be clear about this, we'll teach you how to do that more at Mastermind's Millionaires Live. But my definition of a pure Mastermind is it is a smaller group that has real relationships between not just the person who's leading it and the members, but between the members themselves as well. And that we create an environment where the members are willing to share network wisdom, resources and experiences with each other for the express purpose of bending time, every single one of them. If you do it well, your Mastermind members should be able to accomplish whatever the hell they want. Like I used to joke a little bit about our Vita group. It was like these were Olympic athletes, these were top of their class entrepreneurs. It's like they were going to win anyway. That's the truth of it. But were they going to win in three years or were they going to win in four months? And the difference between winning in three years and four months was the Mastermind group, because they were able to accelerate and put together their network, wisdom, resources and experiences for the benefit of one another. So that to me is one of those discerning factors.
I love it. That's perfect. And where I come from for this, just to remember, remind everybody like, hey, the most important thing you're going to create is the model, right? And the model you May get it right out of the gate. That's probably like 5% of the time that happens. It's going to be a lot higher. Yeah, it's going to be a lot higher percentage of the time with guidance for people who've done it before, certainly. So you don't have to do trial and error so much. Like we're going to give you the models that work and you can iterate on those, but we don't want you to get too fancy. The reason we do these events and the reason we do these trainings and the Q and A is because we want to give you what already works so that you can build on a proven foundation model that can, can go really far. And just to be clear about this, I just want to be serious. I just had a conversation today with a guy who told me that Vistage, which is an old tired brands with like 8,000 members, just sold for $1.5 billion with a B six months ago. Vistage, which is not that sexy or exciting. Tiger 21, big private equity roll up. You know, YP21 bought them or no? Yeah, I'm just saying like some of these events and these, these consistent membership marketing, like the PE firms and the, the even companies that want to take these and go public, like spacs and things like that, they're starting to recognize just how awesome these businesses are. So the one you build today could in three or five or 10 or 15 or 20 years end up being a massive exit if you build it right. So this is where we're starting to play, where we're realizing like, oh my goodness, this is a real honest to goodness business model that has come around full circle from like nobody wanted to buy it to now everybody wants to buy it. And if you can position yourself properly, you can sell this company for hundreds of millions and maybe a billion dollars. So it's something to think about is like if you could just nail it here. I mean, what's a few hundred bucks for a ticket? What's a few hundred bucks for a hotel? Like when you really get it right, the upside potential is massive certainly.
Well, I mean, honest to goodness, even for a small independent, you know, and I know both you and I and our previous marketing materials and I'll speak for myself, attempting to be believable. So like when we rolled out the very first Mastermind to millions live and the launch of Mastermind Boot Camp, the advertising copy was, you can add six figures to your bottom line. Now while we wrote that copy, we had a huge debate about this because at the time we had about a three and a half million dollar mastermind. Let me be clear about this small mastermind model called Vita that had four cohorts, high level. It was pretty fantastic, quite frankly. I truly loved it. So here's, here's the thing. It's like we wanted to put a believable promise, even though it was so ridiculously low that I resented it. And I had these big sort of debates with my copywriters and they're like, well, people just aren't going to believe it. And it's like, well, listen, I'll send them my. I'll send them my financials. Because it's not that hard to see anyway that that's neither here nor there. But like, I mean, we could be talking billions. That's which still that numbers freaking amazing. I love that. But for lots of us watching, it's like, what if. What if you just got to 3 million and you did so on your terms? You know, like, I'll go back to my model that I'm working on with my wife. It's like, here's. Here's where we are in our life. Don't really have to do much of anything. Our kids are, you know, right this very second, one of. One of my kids is in British Columbia visiting his girlfriend. My youngest is visiting his birth family in Ontario. We're getting to the spot where we're gonna have more and more free time. It's like, what would, what would we like to do? Travel the world, Spend quality time with one another. With a group of moving and shaking couples who are committed to actually creating real relationships. Like, that's not even work. But if we did that and made, you know, a million and change, that'd be okay. Like. Like that. That is so possible. Like, it's so possible that. And I see people struggling, trying to make. Break six figures, rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. For the Christ's sake, just get a.
Model that works anyway. Well, and you really nailed it on the head last time we chatted and I was on, you know, I was on standby for that flight. So I, I couldn't really listen to everything we said. But I remember one of the things that stuck with me was if you can design and build a mastermind properly, you can be financially free. There's no question. And with all those other benefits, if the money's sorted and you're having more fun impacting more people at a deeper level and enjoying your life. Yeah. With people you care about instead of A bunch of hassles and headaches. Like, that's. That's like cheat codes for life.
Hell, yeah.
That's winning. And. And here's the best part. It doesn't take up all your damn time. You know, maybe you're talking 10 hours a month.
You get to have a life.
You get to have a life and go enjoy things. And then you. If you still want to make more money or do other projects like I do, I go out and I do other things in the rest of my time. I'm not sitting around for the rest of my working hours for the rest of the month.
Yeah, exactly.
Playing with my Stretch Armstrong poop that I got for Christmas. I am out there. I'm out there making and shaking and breaking deals. I'm out there talking to people. You know, Like, I just had a conversation today. Like, this guy's trying to put together a $600 million deal, and he's looking for financing, and maybe I can hook him up with a PE firm. And, oh, if I got half a point on that deal, I would be very much more wealthy than I am now. Like, it's. It's stuff like that that you can go do because you have the connections. You have the resources. You're better at talking to people, leading, facilitating, understanding, connecting what have you. And then you can start to connect the dots. Like, the reason I've been doing masterminds for as long as I have, and Jay's been doing it for as long as he has, is we're one to two phone calls away from anybody we could ever want to talk to.
The reach of it is pretty spectacular. In fact, I've enjoyed us working together because, hey, do you know so and so. And honestly, I've been at home with my dear wife and my family for three years. So there are times where I say no, but often it's like, yep, we did something three years ago, and vice versa. It's like, hey, do you know so and so? Yeah, he was in my mastermind group in San Diego. It's like, they're cool conversations. Here's. Can I do a little detour for a brief moment?
Yeah. Far away.
Well, it's related to the same mode of financial freedom. And. And by the way, I just want to say publicly, like, I really appreciate you getting on a plane and coming to freeze your ass off in Canada. Like, it was. The dynamics of my life are a little more complex with teenagers. And, you know, like, literally, I'm part of that sandwich generation where I'm taking care of my mom who's 82 and I'm taking care of my youngest who's 12 and the shit in between. All that can be a little bit daunting is the polite version of that. But anyway, so I appreciate you coming but. But I think the, the thing that I wanted to say about that is financial freedom is actually pretty easy with two things. Number one, a great mastermind model where you are truly serving your unique tribe and number two, clarity and commitment about your lifestyle. Because here's the honest God truth is that my wife and I don't. We're not. Well my definition, we are not extravagant in any way, shape or form. Although some people goes like the number of Porsches you have would mean you're extravagant. It's like. But that's not in my, my standards. That's not true. We chose what we wanted. We got it and we take care of it and we don't want something more. We're not upgrading to a Lambo. We're not getting a Bentley. We got exactly the car and the truck that we wanted and we drive it and we take care of it. That's it. We have a couple of seven figure house. House. And I don't want for anything else anywhere else anyhow else. It's just this is it. So if you can set the standard, stick to the standard and then use the mastermind model to fulfill that standard. Honest God. Financial freedom could be a couple. Could be 12 months away, could be 18 months away. It could be 24 months away. But 100, I promise you it is doable.
Yeah and here's the thing is that people are crying out for community now more than ever. That's the biggest untapped pandemic that we haven't even talked about. Nobody's talking about the fact that there's so many lonely people out there, business owners and otherwise that it's, it's a trillion dollar addressable market that nobody's even talking about. It's like loneliness is an epidemic. Community is the cure to loneliness. 100. You don't have community. Create the community. Go get some friends, have a couple bottles of wine, work some out, get paid to do it. It's, it's a no brainer honestly.
Well and here's the thing that I, I think is so important about that which is personal development doesn't happen at the mountaintop. Personal evolution doesn't happen outside of relationship. Those two things are fundamentally true. So we, we require relationships. Family and community. Now for some of us family isn't the most ideal thing in the world. I'm blessed that I, I'm fortunate in that domain. But I'll tell you what, that is not the case. So if we don't get clear about creating relationships, family of choice and of genetics and community, the truth is we are going to be in trouble. We. We're not in the middle of a mental health epidemic by accident. We're not in the middle of a, of a marriage. Like the institution of marriage is in jeopardy, by the way, not just from divorce, but from people just saying, hell no, I'm not doing that. Like, just, I'm not doing that.
It required some convincing on my part. I had to meet Jasmine before it made sense.
Well, you gotta, you gotta meet the right person. I. And by you, you know, from my story, I was anti marriage as well. Until it was like camera until 54, 56 in January. No, you know what it was, was we were, we were renovating our, this brick warehouse that we had bought and we weren't married yet. And, and it was like, you know what? Because I, my parents had this show of divorce and it was like, I don't want to split my, I don't want to split my net worth. It's the honest God truth is like you did. And it was like, you know what? She works as harder, harder than I did through this goddamn difficult time. And if something were to happen to us, it's like she damn well deserves half like, like regardless of whatever the laws are and all that, it was just. That would be the right thing to do. So that's a stupid excuse. That was part of my story. Anyway, my point is the big picture of where we are today, which is we are never more connected and yet further apart than before any time in history. If we can't begin to weave that together in terms of a manner that works, our mental health, our sense of well being is going to be more.
And more and more challenged.
And I don't know how much you followed over Christmas here of men between your age and mine taking their lives. It has been daunting. And, and let's just be perfectly clear about this, that does not happen when you have meaningful relationships and you are actively engaged in community. That happens when you believe you're completely alone and there's no way out. So this is more important than just. It's like, oh, I'm making 10 bucks on mastermind or I'm going to make a million bucks on Mastermind. This is, you know, think of, think of it this way. And I Say this in my. In my stage presentations, most of humanity is simply walking around with their umbilical cord in hand, looking for a place to plug in and call home. That is what most of humanity is doing right this very second. And if you are sharp enough, strong enough, clear enough, enough of a leader to provide that home, I actually believe you have an obligation to do so.
That's so powerful.
I'll get off my high horse for a moment now.
No, it's so important. And I just want to give a shout out to Jason Moss. He's been a longtime friend and client. He's coming down. He's taking action. He's getting set up with the hotel. We're still signing contracts. So you can call him and tell him to jump in on the room block. They'll accommodate you. We sent the number as well. So, jj, thank you for. For grabbing that. Tabitha, a question. Will there be an online option to join, too? We went back and forth on this. We're not doing online for this very first one. We may do it in the future, but we'd love to have you there in person. And I'll. I'll send you that comment as well.
May I just lean on that for a little bit?
Sure.
I know it's a hell of a lot easier to turn on Zoom and all the rest of it, but. But here's the honest God truth. And Brad and I talked about this a lot, like we were. Tremendous debate here. The true experience of connecting in a relationship and the. This sharing of network wisdom, those are the mechanics.
Right?
So network wisdom, experience and resources, that's one thing. But there's also this almost. Not almost. It is metaphysical. There's another metaphysical component to that sharing, which is presence, love, energy. All of those get shared in a. In a. A thousand times more meaningful manner in person. That's what we want you to experience so you can carry it forward to your mastermind. So I get it may not be convenient. Hell, I give you my word, it is not convenient for me. If you knew my life and my family and the people I take care of, it is anything but convenient. But I'm juggling my life in my world to do it because it's important, and I really believe you should do.
And we're not making you go to Calgary. I'm getting them to come down here to Phoenix, where it's going to be really beautiful in March. I just want to be clear on that. I went to Calgary so you don't have to.
All right, so it sounds a little Bit like going to the gulag kind of goulet.
I mean, like, you know, if you ship me off to Siberia, I wouldn't be having a different experience, let's put it that way. Okay, so here's what I did. I went through and I found our top 11 questions that everybody asks. And now I've written at length, just a little aside. I wrote a 2,000 word Facebook ad answering all these questions because they were the ones that as people came into this group, this is the number, this is the top 11 questions that people had.
So now I'd like to see that post so that I can answer these problems.
Yeah, it's awesome. I just took all the questions without giving you any additional, you know, coaching or beyond any of that. I put them in the chat here on Zoom. So if you want to pull up.
The chat, I literally, I just pulled them out. Okay, perfect.
So you can pick any three or four, whatever you want that you want, pick that you think are the most useful for the audience.
I'm going to pick number two because it's one of my favorite questions of all and honest to goodness, my friends, and number two is how do I get the right people in my mastermind? Good Lord. That is the correct question. That is the correct question. Because the truth is, if you put the right tribe and the right people in your mastermind, this is the most joyful, beautiful, loving, profitable, fun, entertaining experience you'll ever have in your entire life. Like, you're going to be a mastermind.
Meetings.
And, and by the way, I've had this experience, like, I can't tell you how many times I where it's like the person I'm working with, my business partner, or like Corey and I were doing a little thing the other day and it was like we just turned to each other. It's like, can you believe we're getting paid for this? Can you believe that? Like, like. And honest to God, I wish that for each and every one of you. I wish that that moment of there you are with people you love, with people you care about, moving mountains and creating results and being financially free. That's. That's what I want for you. So back to the core of the question, which is this. I think the most important part of getting right people in your mastermind is this. I'm going to say something that is probably a little contrarian, but it is this. You do it by stop selling your mastermind. And this is a entirely contextual, this is an entirely belief shift. And I don't want you selling your Mastermind? I want you to begin to think of yourself as the gatekeeper to an incredibly powerful, to an incredibly privileged, to an incredibly beautiful, to incredibly amazing community. And that you take that role of gatekeeper so seriously that when somebody has quite literally, whatever your price point is, 10, 20, 30, 40, $50,000, and they say, let me in, you say, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not sure you qualify. Your capacity to pay has very little to do with your capacity to qualify. Let's back up the bus and see if you were right for this group, if you deserve a seat at the table, if the people who are there want you at the table. We're going to do all those sorts of things. I'm ever taking your money. And what happens is the shift in psychology around that I think does more to qualify that filter, and I'm going to say manifest the people that are right for your group than any other single factor. By the way, there's about 10 more things I'd be happy to teach, and we will at Mastermind. That is live. But that's. That's number one.
That's the big psychology shift. You have to be the prize, right? Yes. Psychology would show over and over and over again. You could talk about Cialdini, you can talk about any study that's, that's holds water and has weight. People chase things that move away from them and they run away from things that move towards them. It's as simple as that. Even if they're good?
Even if they're good, yes.
It has nothing to do with the value proposition. It has everything to do with the way it's presented. So you take the same exact Mastermind offer with your perfect pitch and positioning and pricing and all that, and you chase people with it and they run away versus you become the prize. And you hang back and you let them know it's available and you invite them in. You say, hey, listen, there's going to be a few hoops to jump through, but if it's the right fit, this will change your life. Now you get a much better response. So that's one of the things I love about Jay and what he instilled in me very early is like, hey, this is not right for everyone. I'm here to filter, not to sell. Yeah, great question, Great answer.
Yeah. And I love both of them. It's. Was I having this conversation with you, Brad, or somebody else? Anyway, my wife and I are doing this thing called the connection experience for couples and all the rest of it. And this Couple reaches out and they're like, well, I'm not sure. And so we get a little more information. We just reply back, so this is not for you. And what was funny about this? That communication was like, probably like four to nine hours apart, like over a span of like five days. And we reply back, so sorry, we just don't think this is for you. 13 seconds later. What? What?
What?
Well, if you read the nine things you sent earlier. Yeah, anyway, but it is. Anyway. Never, never underestimate the power of that. So the next one I'd love to tackle is, I don't feel confident. How can I run my own mastermind group? Good Lord.
That's a.
That's a fantastic question. And you know the. And I'm going to do a little sidebar and hey, I'm doing this course, which is an annual review course. And by the way, I've been teach. Excuse me. I've been teaching an annual review course and I've had a ritual that I have done for damn near 30 years. And this year, because this is the year of everything is different. Like, I'm just. There are no sacred cows. I'm doing something different. I'm doing somebody else's annual review instead of my own. And I'm really, really quite enjoying it. But here's the interesting part about this, is that if you don't feel confident, then you do exactly what I did. Exactly what Brad did. Exactly. What every single successful, intelligent, resourceful person does is you go get support and you learn from somebody who has been there, done that, not once, not twice, not three times, but hundreds of times, thousands of times that has a broad range of experience that isn't from reading a book. And my Mastermind's been running three months, but from 30 freaking years for me. 10 freaking years. Like, you go and you get support. And this, by the way, is the reason why there's no online version of this. We want you in the room, we want you at a table. We want you experiencing what it really feels like and what it looks like and what the questions are and what the consciousness is to participate in a true mastermind. So you have to experience it and you get support. You have absolutely no freaking right, not one right in the freaking universe to try to run a mastermind unless you're in one. Okay, so we have a fervent belief, which is this, you need to be in two roles. Top of the list is this, you need to be in a mastermind that sharpens your sword, that is on the leading, learning, bleeding Edge of your personal evolution, your business evolution, your development as a human being here on planet Earth. You need to be in that group that kicks your ass, that challenges you, that taxes you, that inspires the living, you know what? Out of you. That's where you go and pay. Please hear this. You pay. You get your credit card out and you pay. Did I mention you pay? This is not some free that you and your three friends who are all in the same goddamn spot do together. I'm so sick and tired of that, I can't tell you.
So that's how you really feel, Jay?
Did I. Did I mention you should probably pay for it? Like, you go pay as much as you can for the highest level mastermind that they will let you into. And by the way, how you'll know that is you'll get declined from a couple. Say you're close, but you're not quite there. So you take the next one that you can actually get through the door.
Yeah, and that happened to me, by the way. So I just want to be clear about this. When I was first getting started, I joined something called Camp Maverick, which is my very good friend Janik. He's brilliant. And I went to one of their events and I just wasn't quite there yet. And they let me know as as much. Right. And five years passed. And then we had another conversation. He's like, I really want you to join Maverick. And I'm like, well, I'm not sure you qualify. Listen, honestly, we love Yannick. It's nothing. It's Yannick or the Maverick. They're a great organization. I want to be a part of it. It's just I'm already part of six freaking masterminds. So it's like, you know, I'm trying to do less masterminds, not more masterminds. So at this stage, it didn't make as much sense, but there was a time when I was aspirational and I wasn't getting in the room. Another great example of this. Trying to get into Abundance360 was like pulling teeth, you know? So Peter Diamandis, Dan Sullivan, and Joe Polish got together and launched Abundance360 to really get people. Like, it was so sexy. It was like the future of everything. You know, you want to learn about 3D printing and AI and VR and all these new technologies are changing the world. And, oh, by the way, I a company that mines asteroids. And like, you want to be in that room because it's just fricking cool and sexy and it's where the world is going. I couldn't get into that Mastermind. I didn't qualify. But here's what I did. I went to the event. I found where it was being held. I got a suite. I invited people over to watch it virtually. We tailgated the Mastermind, and then I went down and met all the people at lunch, and I met all the people during the breaks, and I got to meet Joe Polish, and I got to meet all these people that now I am in relationship with and friends with and joining their masterminds because of that event. Because I didn't take no for an answer, and I made sure that I was there.
That's awesome, by the way.
Dinners and all that cool stuff.
That's a Joshua Hayward move. And I just got a important text from my wife. Can you give me, like, 30 seconds to go?
I'll finish the story, and you come up.
We've got kids on planes, and I just want to make sure that nothing's going awry here. Okay?
No stress whatsoever. Jay. So. So, yeah, just to let you guys know, wherever you're at, wherever you're looking to go, whether you're brand new, fresh off the street, you know, I would say probably want to have at least been in business for, like, a year, just to have a little bit of, you know, some of the skills that pay the bills and some of the collateral and just kind of understand what you're trying to do here. You know, it'd be hard to take you from complete zero to hero in three and a half days, but as long as you've been in the flow of business a little bit, you got some clients under your belt, you've had some success stories, maybe some case studies, some testimonials. I think it's great to start thinking in terms of a mastermind, both joining, one that stretches you and makes you level up, because that's been the biggest key to my growth, and I think Jay would agree with that. And as well, coming to an event where you're surrounded by people who have done this again and again and again and again, we really have this model figured out, not just with our own stuff, but like, helping consult with Tony and Dean, for example, and helping to launch big events and huge masterminds all over the world, been to 26 countries, 43 states, myself, and I can't even imagine how many Jay has been to. Like, just having all of that, to be able to just plug right in from the get at a price that's literally we're never going to charge as little again, like we, we did the math after the fact, after we published the prices and we're like, we're losing money on these tickets. So general admission is just a buck 97 right now, $197. VIP is just 397. That's inclusive of everything. That's your meals. That's all of it. The hotel is beautiful. We got a beautiful. Every single one of the rooms is a suite. It's right on the golf course. There's a hot tub, there's a pool, there's a bar. It's breakfast is included. All this really co. Cool stuff.
Wine every afternoon.
Yeah, there's going to be wine, there's going to be cheese. You can have my share. I'll give you my drink tickets because I'm not going to use them. But yeah, we want you there. And if, and if you want to play bigger, you can let us know as well. But definitely 100%, without a doubt, go to mastermind of millions live.live mastermindmillions live. Grab tickets right now. Get on the list. Make sure you're in there. Make sure you're locked in. This is gonna be a great time. You're not gonna want to miss this. Everything sorted with the family, Jay?
Well, I feel, just to be clear about this, in my world, I feel not qualified to give advice about many things. But here's a little bit of parenting advice that I can share with any of you who are parents or plan to be parents, is that when you get a Note from your 12 year old on the airplane traveling across the country that says, hey, what's your PayPal password? You just say, no. That's what that was. It was like, hey, I'd like to buy some online. And what's your PayPal password?
No, the way I saw, I thought.
It was urgent, but that's not that.
The way I heard that going in my mind was PayPal. No, hey, pal, you're not. You're not my friend guy. You're not my guy buddy.
I type back, lol, over my dead body.
Okay, cool. What are some other questions here? So we answered, I believe, two so far, 11 to choose from. I think we got time for maybe two more.
Okay, so. So actually, can I complete this? So if you change the psychology of, if you change the psychology of, how do I get the right people? Because I just want to complete this one. Then the next piece is this is, you must have a great intake form and you must have a great interviewing process and both of those things. Brad and I will teach in great depth and detail at mastermind2millions live. Quite frankly, should you choose to come, we will give you a. Or you and I haven't really talked about this, but I have a bunch of samples that I'm happy to share with folks who actually come to Masterminds Millions Live that we'll just do that as part of the free prep content because those intake forms and those interviews are worth, and I mean this in all seriousness, millions and millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars. Because if you get one wrong person in a group of 12 right people and they eff it up, that costs you more money than you can possibly imagine. So anyway, I just wanted to add that one point that great. You. You change the psychology of sales. You have people pursuing you. Great. What, what are the, you know, hoops of burning fire that they must jump through so that you actually know? Because it's one thing like, and I don't know, Brad, I'd love your perspective on this. Have you ever been in. In a circumstance trying to qualify, whether that's abundance, 360, all those sorts of things where it's like, they don't really have a process. It just seems like it's. They're throwing a dart at the wall to see if you make it or if you don't. And it's like that. That, by the way, does not bode well on you. It makes you look like a popularity contest in high school, which is for morons. Like, you really do need a legitimate process that you, your potential clients and existing clients understand, because if they don't, it becomes a popularity contest which will only bite you in the ass. Do you want to add to that?
Yeah, it felt arbitrary sometimes. It felt personal other times. And you just don't want to walk away with a bad taste in your mouth or a rock in your shoe. So when you do decline, people, you just need to have very clear, stringent criteria as to why. So they can look at the thing and be like, oh, yeah, I would have made that decision as well. That's it. And it's like, you made it up. It's your criteria. But they get to look at it and say, oh, yeah, that makes sense. I get that. No hard feelings, we're cool. And ideally, you can push them to another mastermind that might be a better fit. And you don't have to do that yourself. You can lean on us and our expertise of like, oh, this person isn't. You just have to come to us, be like, this person isn't a fit for me for X reasons. So we could say, oh, great, well, they need more remedial work. Let's put them here. Or oh, they would be actually a better fit over here. Oh, they don't even do this, they do that. Let's go put them over here. And that's part of one of the values that we create is like we want to have the ultimate, the penultimate community of masterminds that are so tightly knit that everybody gets served. Because no matter where you're at, from beginner to amazing, you know, I've sold my company eight figures, this and that, whatever, you have a place where we can help you get to the next level.
Yeah, love that. And just how do I put this? These two ideas might sound a little paradoxical, but point number one is you are a gatekeeper and your job is to protect the quality, the caliber, the integrity, the energy, the sharing of the community that you have built and that you're protecting. So that's one piece. But the other side of it is that the folks that come to the door, we still want them to feel served. Like, if they had the courage to show up at the door, we want them to feel served, but that might not mean us. So. So if you just hold those two sort of paradoxical ideas, one of which is I'm gonna guard this gate with my heart, mind and soul. And if somebody has the courage to get to the gate, I want them to feel served whether they got through or whether they did not. So. And anyway, it's a, it's an interesting idea.
That's great. And I just want to give a shout out to everybody watching live. We got 12 people live, hashtag live. We got some people watching the replay, I'm sure hashtag replay, let us know where you're coming from, what you're up to if you're joining us. Mastermind to Millions Live to grab your tickets right now, they're the cheapest they're ever going to be. We got a crazy deal running through the end of the year. It's 197 for just a regular ticket, 397 for VIP upgrade, which includes the, the pre event wine and cheese, the multiple breakout sessions, the meals, all that great stuff. So you definitely want to do that. Get your hotel room, get it all set up and let's rock. So, yeah, I really love what we're doing here. I'm really excited about it. We got some really great sponsors and speakers coming as well, which we'll be announcing in the coming weeks.
But Honestly, we should have like a whole. And to be clear about this, the requests for speech. We should have like a bonus day of just all the speakers that want to speak. I just add a day on. You guys are all.
Yeah, yeah, honestly. And, and for the folks, I was.
Joking, but then I said it was like, yeah, it's not a bad idea.
And for the folks that are like sponsors, they get a table, they get a booth, what have you, or speakers. We're going to also have a VIP mastermind the day after. And one of the things I was going to pitch to you, Jay, as a possibility is we should have an offer on the way in for people who are like mega vip. They should be able to show up, get red, you know, white glove service, red carpet roll out for the whole thing and join that mastermind as well. Now that would be a multiple thousand dollar thing, maybe three to five grand, something like that. But that's, I believe, a sexy offer that kind of encapsulates what we're trying to do here. We want to give you a white glove experience, from soup to nuts, start to finish, give you everything you need to to nail this business model, to knock it out of the park, to grow and to thrive and to make a huge impact and to do it while having a lot of fun and having memories and having photographs of that. Oh, that time I got picked up with the by a limo at the airport. And you know what I was thinking.
Is that is that time I got to pose as James Bond in front of The Aston Martin DB7.
That's it.
Yeah.
Like we had a really cool Monday, which Jay put together. I give him all the credit. But we got to select from like seven or eight supercars, which I chose three. I was able to drive a Shelby Cobra, which was just a freaking and pitbull on wheels. It was crazy. The Audi R8, which was amazing. It was an old manual one. I think it was like a 2013 or 14. And then I got to drive an Aston Martin DB9 Vanquish, which was like, you know, I dressed up to the nines, I got my suit, you know, I did my whole James Bond thing and I got to make pictures. It was great. It was such a cool experience. I'm not even a car guy.
I wish, I wish I had that picture because it's a spectacular picture. Okay, let's go to. How do I create the right culture environment in my mastermind group? Number one, I love that question. That, that somebody is or the people who are, you know, trying to Figure this out. There's not one thing. First and foremost. There's absolutely not one thing. I'll list a whole bunch, then I'm going to focus on one, first of which is who is in the group. So that whole selection process is the paramount issue related to this. So get the people in the group. It often takes care of itself. The next piece of this is great. Facilitating skills, knowing how to lead a group. Please hear this. When I say lead a group, I don't mean necessarily being the guru on the stage. I don't mean teaching training. I mean creating a context, a container, an environment where we're trying to make sure that the people who are there bring again, network wisdom, resources and experiences. That's the, that's the mechanical piece. Plus love, contribution, presence, desire, positive energy for other folks. Like those are all really important components as well. And we're bringing those things together. So here's the, the best mechanic that I have ever come up with for people who are, I don't, I don't mean this in a negative way, but just for, for people who haven't had as much experience in managing groups. So if you, if you're like a one on one wizard, Yahoo, hats off. But please know that the complexity and the difficulty of managing a group doesn't go up in a multiplication component. Like, it's not like, oh, now I've got two people, so it's twice as hard. Now I've got three people, it's three times as hard. That's not how it goes. Because the truth is, in a mastermind group, you're now managing not one, you know, you and another person, which is one relationship. Now it's you and another person and another person. And you have to actually manage their relationship, your relationship, your relationship with the other person, our relationship with everybody. And then every single person you add, please hear this. It makes it exponentially more challenging. Not mathematically, not geometrically more challenging. So, so anyway, I'll tell. I'll teach more about that in Mastermind Millions live. Here's the part you need to know. The simplest way to do that is to have a pledge. And the pledge communicates the values, communicates the stand, communicates the reason, and embeds in it the individual's reason for participating, the outcome that they want out of it. And every single time we get together in the Mastermind, we simply review the pledge. And that pledge takes about two and a half minutes. And it brings me back to. It's like, oh yeah, this is really why, why I'm here. This is who I want to be. This is the results I want to have. And I'm going to show up here in a meaningful manner. So we'll teach you the pledge at Masterminds Billions Live. There's a very specific format, there's a very specific structure, there's a very specific preparation piece. We'll give you the worksheets, we'll give you the tools, we'll give you the processes. You just got to get your ass there.
I love it, I love it, I love it. So we're running up on a five minute warning here, gang. I just want to remind you that we can answer your questions. Feel free to leave a comment below, but definitely head on over to Mastermind to millions dot live. That's all spelled out. Mastermind 2 to millions dot live. Grab your ticket. You're definitely gonna want to be here. This is going to be a badass event. I'm really excited about this. I've never done a big event before as big as this one. We're looking to have over 300 people in the room. And keep it still intimate. I think that's about the top of where we could do and keep it still intimate.
Yeah.
Jay's run these for many years. It's not the first time around. We've got it planned out to the minute. Like, I could show you the actual form. That's like five minutes this, six minutes that, eight minutes that, ten minutes that. Like, we've got it really drilled in. We've got an incredible team to support you and we're just so excited to. To bring this back and to do it with one of my mentors who's guided me over the years to create so many amazing things. So let's not leave it to chance, gang. Let's not try to figure this out on our own. Don't do it the dumb way. Do it the smart way, which is get your butt two Masterminded Millions. Be a vip, go through the full experience. Get there in the hotel before the hotel suites book out, all suites. So it's pretty fun. You can hang out in the hot tub with us, have some wine and cheese, ask us whatever you want to ask us. Let's have a fun time.
You know what, Can I just add to that, Brad, because that's one of the pieces I've been going through, old footage and testimonials and those sorts of things from our previous events. And one of the most consistent bits of feedback is we are accessible. Like, like we're there. We're not like prima donnas floating in to be on the stage and floating out. It's like quite literally, we are there running the show, being in the show, serving, supporting you. Because our objective is for you to have a mastermind. Our objective isn't for you to attend an event. Our objective is for you to have a mastermind. And we will. You'll feel that. You'll see that in all of the testimonials you will get that you. And this is going to sound a little bit, I don't know, egotistical perhaps for a Canadian. But. But here's the honest goodness truth. If a mastermind is in your future, you'd be damn lucky to have a ticket and a seat at that event because there's no more direct route than this.
Yeah. And I am living proof of that. So I am grateful, Jay, as always. Thank you so much for being here. We're going to do this again in your group because I think it's really fun to take like a great answer questions and I'll answer them and what the different perspectives approaches are. And yeah, guys, if you haven't grabbed your tickets, if you have questions, hit us up. The tickets are at Masterminds of millions dot live. That's masterminded millions dot live. They are 197 for general admission, 397 for VIP just until the end of the year. We already have it set up. The page is going to update the price. It's going to be a new price in January. So don't say, oh, I thought I was going to get it. But no, that's the new price. In February, it's a new price. March, a new price. They're just going to go up from here. If you have even an inkling that you want to be there, you have to grab a ticket now because this is the best price you're going to get. And we wanted to give it to you guys first because you are my loyal Facebook group. Folks, there's 5,000 of you. All right, Jay, thank you so much. And I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye. Bye.
