Welcome to Make More Marbles. My name is Brad Hart and we're here to interview the game changers, the future makers, the co collaborators and creators who are here to collaborate with one another towards a better future for all of us. Enjoy the show. We've got a great guest coming up for you right now. Welcome to Make More Marbles. While he's figuring himself out, I'm going to introduce Adam Roa. Adam, you're awesome.
Thank you.
Appreciate you, brother. Thank you for being here live in the flesh. I'm just so blessed. Thank you guys. I miss you guys. I do. I don't get to see, like, people live literally blocks from me. I don't get to see them unless we have a podcast.
Well, that's not entirely true, is it?
Yeah, we tried to go surfing that one time. Didn't quite work out.
I go surfing multiple times a week.
We should go.
We should go, right?
And let's not just shoot all over ourselves. Let's actually make a plan. I got three surfboards in the garage. I'm ready.
Make more marbles. Do you have a business page?
Oh, yeah, sure.
What is it? Make more marbles. Yeah, make more marbles.
More marbles. There it is.
Bam. Done.
Now we're live.
And we're live. Now I'm getting off my phone so I can be actually live.
Good to see you, brother.
Good seeing you, man.
Thank you for coming.
Yeah, we got. We got Costa Rican jungle.
That's right. Oh, my God. The Naked Truth. You remember that With Alexi and Preston. That was fun. So Adam and I met in Costa Rica in the jungle.
Naked.
Yep. And his lovely lady Azria, who formerly went by another name. She's the artist. Artist formerly known as Melinda. And we all got crazy in the jungle in Costa Rica in a place called Miramar, at a little community. It was a 65 acre mango farm called Puerto la Vida. And we went surfing, went to the jungle. We ate mangoes.
We stood in a circle naked and revealed our deepest, darkest insecurities.
We did that. Yes. It was lovely.
It was wonderful.
So that's how we met. And now, what has it been, two.
Three years now since then? Yeah, I would say probably three years.
Okay, right on. And we've all grown and changed a lot. I know you have. You had the psyche effects.
I'm not nearly this. I'm not even close to the same person now. I feel like. I feel like the last three years has been a journey of really, like, shedding so much of myself and then becoming more embodied in the Parts that I actually want to embody.
I can feel it. By the way, guys, I'm getting the vibes right now. This is like when I interviewed Eli Wilheit. I'm in the. I call it the tractor beam or the reality distortion field, where you just get lost in somebody's eyes like that. They have this power, that star power that can suck you in. So be careful with these. These two brown eyes right here. They're dangerous unless they're used for a higher and better purpose, which in this particular case, they are. So, Adam, for the people listening at home, watching at home, Hi, Facebook. What? You know, kind of tell us, get us up to speed on the hero's journey so far. Like, what has been your life, mission, purpose? What are some of the things that you've learned over the years, the challenges you face and struggles that you've overcome?
Wow, that's a lot right there. I would say that. I would say that for me, the hero's journey has looked like moving through wounded masculine into embodied masculine and wounded feminine into embodied feminine. But primarily, I was raised by a man from the Philippines, my dad. And he came here in pursuit of the American dream. And the American dream is linked to Matthew materialism. So house, career, car, like, that whole thing. And so being raised with that kind of mentality led me into needing to achieve, needing to prove myself, needing to show that I've earned my worth in the world. And so through a crazy arc of a journey, which I can elaborate on if you want, but I started as a really small kid. Like, small, I mean, 73 pounds my freshman year of high school. So, like, really small. And needing to prove myself and needing achievements to feel worthy. And I reached the epitome of that for high school, for myself, by winning homecoming king and my senior year. And that was like this holy grail of all the movies. Tell you that all the girls are gonna love you. And, like, everyone's so cool and they're the homecoming king. Well, I didn't feel any of that. So when I won, I was still insecure and I still had, like, anger and all that stuff. And so I basically went into, well, this is all, like, everything they're telling me, all the media and what my dad and my mom and, like, society is telling me I need to do that. Didn't work at 18. Like, that wasn't the case. So what happens if I go and get, like, the career and the wife and the white picket fence and that's due. I don't know if I'm Allowed to curse on this.
We'll keep them off, unfortunately, because we want to keep our clean rating.
Clean rating. I'm gonna stop cursing.
Thank you. Appreciate you.
I can be aware of it. And so yeah, that led me on this journey of kind of self discovery and questioning things, asking myself, well, where will I find happiness? And that led to me leaving behind an advertising job at an ad agency and pursuing my dream of becoming an actor. And then that led to beating down my self confidence and my self esteem so low that I was just so desperate and wounded that I found spirituality in that like dark time. And that led to an unlocking of everything that you and I have known each other in, which is personal development and self growth and commitment to being the highest version of myself. And, and that's my current path now. And so now I coach, I consult, I create conscious media content and still act and direct and do all that, but with a very clear message and intention behind everything that I do.
I love it. And I love that you're really clear on your purpose, your focus. So you've taken your strengths which were your kind of double edged swords and now you're using the edge for good. I love it. So talk about what life looks like now. I know you're always traveling, I know you always a million things going on. But let's talk about like specifics as far as they relate to your current experience of the world.
Well, from what, like the material, practical, logical, what that looks.
Yeah. What are you doing with your life? How do you spend most your time? Who do you serve? That's another great question.
So that's a really great question. So my life currently looks like I do consulting work and that that sometimes is one on one at like an executive or CEO level. Sometimes that looks like going into a business and doing it more organizationally. And I live here in Cardiff and my day is full of creation and so that also includes creating. Like I'm designing a video course, an online video course. Right now I'm promoting a tour of my one man show which is. Have you seen it?
No, not yet.
You haven't seen it yet? So the show itself is actually Think personal development workshop meets spoken word poetry music night. And it's this blend of art and spirituality and linear understanding of self help concepts that I'd never seen before. And so I developed it and I'm going to be touring Australia with it in November.
That's awesome.
And I leave next week and yeah, so I find that my balance is in creating enough space within myself for source creativity, the divine to flow through me into whatever projects those look like. I'm starting a clothing line, like so many different things. And not getting lost in that space because it's easy. Like, we live in Cardiff, we go surfing, I love the gym, I love yoga, I love surfing, I love movies. Like, there's so much that I can get lost in that I can justify is also feeding my creativity and feeding that space. And who do I serve? Getting to that question is, I found that my audience tends to be people who, who want to connect the like, high level, ancient wisdom, esoteric concepts in a way where they can understand and implement it into today's modern world.
Got it. So to paraphrase for me, you're taking spiritual and other types of wisdom from the ages and you're making them practical and tactical based on the current landscape of the world.
Yeah, because we're hearing so much in today's day and age about like, manifestation, law of attraction, and like holding frequencies and vibration. But like, what does that practically look like? We may conceptually understand the law of attraction, but what does it look like to implement that into your life? What are the practices, what's the understanding that will benefit people who have been born and grown up and are living in today's paradigm? And so that's. That tends to be who's drawn to me, because I think in. I realized, I think in metaphor, I think in analogy, I see the world as poetry a lot. And that symbolism that I see it in helps translate it into more understandable concepts as opposed to just being ideological.
I love that. And it's a very, you know, we have the dreamers in the world, right? The people that think of new ideas. They see how things already are and they say, okay, I got a better idea. And they kind of relate these concepts, but sometimes they miss the mark in the sense that they haven't like gained, if you will, enrollment from the people who they're speaking to. And it sounds like you've kind of mastered that art of taking these downloads, if you will.
Right.
And the information that you have and then being able to relate it to people in a practical way so that they can have more freedom, more joy, more success in their business, more fulfillment. And can we talk, like, just to bring it down again for the audience, like, about one person's journey from. I met Adam, this was the problem I was having. You know, this is kind of how he helped me and then ultimately what ended up happening as a result.
Yeah. So one, let me take, let me see which, which client I could pull from. So one of the big ones, right, when, when I first started coaching, is I used to get a lot of people who wanted to coach, people who wanted to express themselves. Because for me, expressing myself, since I've always been a performer and an actor for so long, like, expressing myself on camera or in interviews has come easier to me, and it's been a point of just experience. And so when I was working with certain people who wanted to say they wanted to start coaching, it would come from a place of, what, why do you want to be coaching? Like, what's the actual reasons underneath that? And a lot of times what comes out in that is that there's a desire to help, right? There's a desire to serve. And that desire of serve gets really muddled and overshadowed by our scarcity conversations and our desires for our own abundance. And that, even in my own life, showed up early on by working with clients who wanted to work with me and were willing to pay me but weren't the right fit. And so when, when I first start working with someone, it's always about stripping away the ideas of what it would look like, because those ideas, especially if they're new to the work, they. Those ideas of what it could and should and they want it to look like, are inclusive of all the limiting beliefs and the fears and the doubts and the scarcity that's present in so many people. And so once you remove the. And work through and embrace and transcend a lot of those conversations around scarcity and doubt and worthiness, well, then the vision of what can be created is all of a sudden quite different. It's usually different. I won't even say quite different. What I'll say is very refined. And so people's message starts to get synthesized down into something that's really specific. And the specificity of that message and the refinement of how they want to be of service is where they can actually create the biggest impact. Because I believe that we all have unique code. And so your unique code on this planet is, Is part of the sustainability, symbiosis of the whole. And only through the refinement of your unique code and the ownership of that can we ever move into, like, a symbiotic utopia together. And so, yeah, that's, that's kind of what it looks like for me is mainly removing the junk that's weighing down our natural infinite abundance and potential.
I. I really love that, Adam, because you touched on a really important point, which is the consciousness which produced the problem is not going to produce the answer. Right. So you almost have to look from above that and say to yourself, hey, all right, cool. We had this idea of how it should be or would be or could be, and now I have to kind of up level past that to see how to make room for what could be, right, what the possibility would be, which technically, you know, relates more to what all of this wants to be. Right. It's like this is coming through us a lot of times. It's not always coming out of our minds. It's not always coming from. It's only when we stop struggling and start getting into the flow. And I'm reading that Surrender experiment book, so I might. Michael Singer great book, by the way, if you haven't checked it out, is just allowing life to show us what's next and not getting so hung up on our own ideas or notions of how it should be. But asking yourself better questions, like, how can I be of a higher service to more people? You know, like, what comes from that when he asks that question? Or in your case, like, what if I stripped away all the nonsense and just got down to the core of what it is I want to do and helped other people do that as well.
Yeah. And one of the big things when I was first starting out on this path of kind of self discovery was recognizing some of the beliefs that I was actually attached to that I thought were expanding what was possible, that were actually limiting what was possible. So one of the big ones was what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. The cluster of beliefs around that, such as I'm forged in the fire and what doesn't kill me make me stronger. I had an attachment to pain, suffering, obstacles. I had an attachment because I felt like at a really deep level, they were necessary in order for me to grow and to expand. And when I shifted that and reframed that into actually, I am infinitely worthy, I'm tapped into something that's beyond this linear time anyway. Like the part of our consciousness that goes beyond this third dimension and exists beyond time means that it's not limited by this one life.
Yes.
And so any idea that I needed suffering and pain, especially in this lifetime, to tap into, like, my infinite potential was limiting, and it was only calling in more suffering. And so recognizing that, yes, resistance is a part of life, and it will show up oftentimes because it's the most efficient and the most clear feedback for, hey, here's an area to work on to get you closer to your goal. And it's not A necessity. It is not the thing that's giving you your power.
I like that. And I think a lot of people identify with struggle. A lot of people identify, like, there's an old great quote. People will respect you for your successes, but love you for your failures. Because everybody can relate to failure, but not everybody can relate to success. And I think as people go through life, like, the only real feedback we have is pleasure and pain, right? Are you getting dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin or endorphins? Are you dosing yourself? Are you getting cortisol and adrenaline and all these crazy chemicals being released? And based on that feedback, your, you know, this physical form will do one of two things, will either run towards it or run away from it, right? Depending on how they deal with that. So by kind of reframing the idea that, you know, pain is a part of life, certainly, right, we're all going to go through some pain. But reframing that we don't need the pain as the catalyst, that we can create our own catalyst, I think is a really interesting and novel concept. Can you talk about how that kind of practically weaves into a situation?
Yes. So another aspect that I want to touch on that will give a deeper context to this is not viewing pain as negative. The pain itself is just part of this experience of being human. That is feeling it is like what we can feel and, yes, biologically. So physical pain is a different thing. Physical pain is something that we are predisposed to avoid. Right. Emotional pain, okay, the sadness. Let's say you experience sadness. Sadness itself doesn't have to be negative. It's the value that we give it. It's what we make it mean about ourselves and about the world around us that leads it to becoming like a negative thing. When we can view it all through the lens of just the human experience. And, like, feeling like, how wonderful. Sometimes so many people can relate to having a really good cry, like just being overwhelmed, sad, whatever, and just really letting loose in a cry. And once you've, like, there's. It feels good. It feels good to have that move through. And so I work to release the idea that any particular emotion itself, any particular feeling itself is positive or negative inherently. And when it comes to, like, a real life example of that, I go to hypotheticals of, like, what does it look like if you thought of everything as a neutral event. So one of my clients, right, he's had some difficulty in his marriage, and now you can have a situation where the wife goes out with her friends and the action taken, okay, is to text and call and just like check in with the wife while she's away on like a two day weekend. That's all neutral. Her going away, her and him texting, calling. That can come from a place of, wow, I'm so happy that she's getting to experience this friendship and like have this adventure. And I miss her and I love her and I just want to check in and see how she's doing, see if I can be of support and etc. Right. That's this really loving place. Also, it can be something where her going out with her friends triggers some deep wounding around, ooh, I don't feel secure in my relationship and now I'm worried about what she might do. So now I'm calling and I'm texting to check in with her, to exhibit some form of control and to make myself feel better because I have that hook in there. And so my approach to life in general is like, everything, the actions that are taken, the events that happen, is neutral until we give it value. And so when you look at something that's happening from a place of pleasure and pain, when something, when an event happens, can you. And it feels kind of painful, can you actually transmute that? Can you go into that and say, how is this serving me? How is this pulling me forward, closer to the intention that I want? And when you do that, you can start to see the ways in which it is benefiting you. And that can become pleasurable, that can become something that pulls you forward instead of beating you down.
I really like that. And a couple of things came up for me is like, there's only two types of communication, the loving response or cry for help. I think that's a really important thing to distinguish. It's like, you know, can you reach out to your, you know, spouse, fiance, whatever significant other and say, hey, I love you, I miss you, I hope everything's great and I'm glad you're having this adventure. Or is it, she's cheating on me, oh my God, there's something happening or something wrong. Like, if that's your concept of reality, that that's a very painful one. But it's just neutral. It's just a neutral event. And that's like, been drilled into me as an investor over time. It's like all of its data, all of it's an opportunity to learn. All of it's an opportunity to. When you start assigning meaning, which is how we're wired by the way, we make meaning of our Surroundings and our situations, that's when things start changing. And I think for you guys listening at home and for both of us, I'm sure we've had this experience where something that used to be painful, now we might be able to derive pleasure from. When you first start working out in the gym or doing yoga or surfing, it could be a painful experience. But then all of a sudden you start getting better at it. You start going more. You start to see benefits that are second order consequences. As you will to borrow from Ray, by the way, this book is incredible. If you haven't read it, Principles by Ray Dalio. Amazing book. You will start to understand that that same painful action, the same exact thing you used to do that was causing pain, is now causing you pleasure. So the action hasn't changed. The action remain neutral, but the feeling and the story around it and the.
Experience is the same. So like, you get really sore that you could get really sore because someone beat you up. And so the experience of that could be very negative. And you're like, ah. But that same soreness could happen because you went into the gym or you went surfing, or you went hiking and you had this great experience and you could feel really good about that soreness. The soreness itself is still just a neutral event until we assign it the value.
I love that. That's a really good distinction. Thank you, Adam. So I'm starting to get it. I'm starting to get clearer on some of the things that I might have missed over time because everybody's evolving, you know, concurrently with one another. And I'm on my journey and he's on his journey. And this is actually a great way to just kind of catch up and get back to base camp, you know, because we've known each other a long time and it's always nice to just see what my friends are out there creating in the world. And like you said, we're all a part of a thing. And my strengths are different than your strengths. And the things I'm gonna bring to the table are different things you bring to the table. But altogether it starts working. Like I look at a community like Encinitas, for example, or Cardiff, there's so many powerful influencers here. So many, like dozens and dozens and dozens. You see them all over the place, all the time. But what I don't see is the collaborative aspect, right? I see all these superheroes running around doing their superhero thing. And they're all superheroes, right? You got the Hulk, you got Captain America, you got, you know, Tony Stark, over here flying around as Iron man suit. What I don't see is Nick Fury being like, hey, guys, what if we all came together and became the Avengers, right? What if we all brought that power together and said, hey, how can we all influence at a higher level? And then all the fear conversations come up and the, you know, the veiled power games come up and all that crap. So I'm just kind of calling everybody out who might be watching today. It's like, how can you collaborate and win more together, right? And then how could you make a better connection with the people in your life who are running on a similar trajectory? Maybe not the same trajectory, and they're not in the same industry. And even if they are, great help each other, right? Because the world to serve is so large and you can share ideas and resources and connections and all that great stuff. But you know what? It would have looked like if we all started kind of moving in the same direction, rowing in the same direction towards a better and higher purpose. I don't know. Like, this is something I think about a lot and I'd love to get your take on it.
Yeah, it's. Well, I see it as both positive and negative, right? Like, depending on the viewpoint. Because I think that part, I see it as neutral.
And then you assign positive.
So it's a sign also of what type of technology has allowed for. So we all the influencers here, while there's this hub and there's this energy and there's this community of people that is in the work and doing amazing things in the world, they're also all able to do it online. They're all able to do it. Like my audience online is different than your audience online. There's some overlap, but it's still different. And so we have the ability to create impact and collaborate. Like, I have VAs around the world, right? Like, we don't have to be in person the way we used to. And with that said, I feel like we're coming back. The pendulum swing is coming back from. We went so far into technology and social media and the Internet where it was just like, well, this is the thing, let's just go. And now you're starting to hear this, like, uproar of. Of it's creating disconnection. People don't know how to communicate anymore. Like, it's not even real life. Like, that groundswell of emotion and energy is going to pull it back into a balance because the technology is not going anywhere. The Internet's not going anywhere.
Pandora's Box has Been open.
It's been open. So now it's about finding how to navigate within that. And I think where we're at, because I don't know how old you are, but for me, like, I was born and there wasn't a computer. You know what I mean? Like cell phones, the Internet, like all of it started. Yeah.
How many people remember a world before the Internet?
Right. Totally. And getting the first computer that I ever had with floppy disks were actually floppy and like the. So it's not a surprise that we went full steam ahead into that because it was new and. And it hasn't even been that long for us to already be like, course correcting. And so I think what I'm seeing is a movement back into tribal societies. I think I'm seeing a movement back into desire for community and for that to be in person. Physical exchanges. We talked about before this, how I love doing podcasts in person because of the energy exchange that's possible, that's different than online. And so I don't know if I answered your question, but I do feel like I see us coming back into balance and I do think that more and more people are feeling it and what it's going to require, what that's going to require is leadership. I think it's going to require people leading the way and taking. Like when I moved down to Encinitas because of the community, there were so many people that were actively like creating events for the community and doing things for the community. That's fallen off. And I've gotten a bit of like a inside scooping, seeing why and seeing certain people, like Jess Magic. Jess Magic is currently not in Nancy News, and she's such a community. She brings together community at such a high level. And like certain things, like Eli has left and he used to have so many things.
Eli calling.
Yeah, Eli calling. So, like, there's reasons why that's happening. And so then it's a matter of are there other people who want to step up, who feel called to fill those voids where the. It's not reliant on a couple people to hold together a community, but it's actually imprinted as like a holographic where everyone in the community feels a responsibility for the community.
Yeah. And I like that because no one person certainly could ever do it. And I, you know, I do my part. I have like little Wednesday night masterminds that we do and.
Yes, you do.
I'm going to come in from the, from the entrepreneurs perspective, from the investors perspective, that's just What I know, that's how I connect with people.
Right.
And, yeah, I have the silly, goofy side and I have the work outside. They got all this other stuff, but, like, if you think Brad Hart, you probably think about entrepreneurship, investing, so, you know, you're gonna have a different lean and create a different thing than somebody else. Adam's, you know, meetups or groups or community events are gonna look a little bit different and also, you know, reflect what he actually likes doing.
Right? Totally.
Like tacos.
Tacos. I love tacos.
I brought Cam to taco stand after our podcast.
Which taco stand?
Right down here in Encinitina, so we can walk to it.
Oh, the taco taco stand right there downtown. Like Caddy corner to Eve.
Yep.
Those tacos are delicious, Right?
So good. If you're ever in town, you should come check out.
Have you been to Oscars?
I have not. We gotta check that one out.
Fish tacos. If you like fish tacos.
Oh, is it the one next to the gas station that's open all night?
No, no, no. This is next to Trader Joe's. Got it.
Check that out next.
All right.
Getting good taco recommendations.
Yeah. Smoked fish taco at Oscars. Mexican seafood.
Yeah.
It's one of the best fish tacos ever had. Second best.
To bring it back to what we're talking about. I do believe that people have the desire and if you lived here for any length of time, you know that there's always something social going on. You know, there's free meetups, there's paid meetups, there's this meetup, there's that meetup. There's tacos, there's this, there's that.
Courses to take.
Yeah, courses. You know, go to Eve and see, like, there's plenty of stuff. I just. I don't know whether I'm not seeing it or not in the right vein yet or haven't found my kind of channel of where I want to be yet. But I really don't see a lot of people collaborating in the. In the entrepreneur influencer space yet. And maybe I'm just not seeing it. I would love to be enlightened to where it's happening. Like, oh, just look over here. But I haven't seen it yet. And I think that's a shame because we have so much we could do for one another. You know, everybody says, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll totally do this and that and the other thing, and it's just talk. And I'm not calling anybody else specifically. I'm not saying it's a blanket generalization either. But I'm just wondering what could be done to make it better, because I think it helps everybody.
So what's the thing then? Like, just put out a call, put out the frequency. What's the thing that you want to be collaborating on?
Right. I would love for people to come together and share connections, resources, opportunities, people, systems. You know, the guys who have a guy for something. Like, everybody's struggling with something silently or loudly, and how can we just be there for each other as a support community in, you know, and just putting aside our beliefs about how it should be done and just realize that everybody at their core value set, really wants to help, you know, and the way you help looks different than the way I help looks different the way they help. And if we all just come together and say, hey, we want to help. We hold this big pile, it starts shoveling, we start shoveling. Amazing things start to happen, you know, and the collaborations I have had, you know, and I talk about them all the time, I won't talk about them here. That have borne fruit, have been some of the most magical, fulfilling experience of my life, like building houses in Mexico and all that great stuff. So I want to continue to do that stuff, and I know we can do more. So that's my call out to entrepreneurs everywhere. Because this is not the only community of entrepreneurs and influencers. Certainly, you know, I've lived in New York and San Francisco and Boston and la, and they're. They're everywhere. I just don't see that unifying sense yet. And maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
Yeah, I imagine it's out there. I mean, I think about the collaborations that we're involved in or at least discussing, even, and there I find so many of them to not be location specific. Right. I think about people that I'm talking about collaborating with, even just going on this tour. And Monique Benabu is gonna be my opening musical act. My friend Cam Adair is gonna emcee the show, and we're gonna go out there. Monique lives in la. Cam lives. Lives in San Diego. He's nomadic right now.
Isn't he in Portugal at the moment?
No, he's back. He's back. He leaves again. He flies out to Calgary, like Thursday, something like that. But he's been back for a week. Anyway, the point is that he's nomadic, she's in la. And yet I feel like we are collaborating and we're tribe. So it comes back to what you're talking about where, like, can we be more location specific? And I think there is a movement back into that and I think it's just a little bit of that pendulum lag. Create.
That's good. It gives me hope too because I, at the core of my being, having been a kid that got beat up and left out and done the whole thing, like that belonging thing, that's, that's big. And I really want people to feel like they belong to something. That's my double edged sword. Right. At the same time as I'm pushing away a connection because of all the pain and trauma I've had around it, I'm inviting it in my life so I have to find that level and I catch myself doing this quite often where I'm like trying too hard. Like Brad, you're trying too hard. Just let it happen.
Okay, cool.
Go back to doing my thing and my flow and understanding that as my double edged sword has allowed me to then create also community for people who feel like they're left out.
And I think tribe or community is so important. It can be one of the biggest tools for growth. It can be such a huge catalyst and supporter of our own individual and collective growth. And I tell people because I get a lot of messages actually on this topic where people are like, I feel like no one in my city, no one in my town has any similar beliefs to me and et cetera. Well, my advice is always, do you like really like you just said, get back to like stop trying to like get back into it. You're going to meet the tribe, you're gonna meet your collaborators, you're gonna meet your friends and your lovers. Like, you're gonna meet those people who are most aligned with you when you're living your alignment, right? And so when it's someone who loves to travel and it's like none of my friends or family love to travel, it's like great. You're gonna, you know where you're gonna meet people who love to travel, traveling. And so like if and so being an entrepreneur like you are and like investing and like being active in that space is going to call in through law of attraction, law of magnetism, you're going to bring people into your field and then within the people who show up in your field, the other aspects of who's really deep tribe, beyond just that one shared interest, who's the people that like you just like vibe with like as dude to dude or you vibe with romantically, like all those things. And the. Rather than figuring out what do I need to do to do it. Looking at what do I love to do, what's in my highest excitement and how can I just do more of that stuff in my life?
I like that. That's advice I think we all need to hear from time to time. Certainly not the first time I've heard it, but just being able to be really comfortable embracing the suck, being yourself. And it doesn't have to suck. It doesn't have to be painful. But like, you know, sometimes life is going to give you contrast, right? It's going to give you a period where you feel like you don't have a tribe yet. In order for when you do have a tribe that you can appreciate it.
Especially if you're shifting, if you're expanding and you're growing, everything that's not in resonance with your new frequency will fall away. And that means your old friends and community. If, like you. If you have shifted, it's not up to them to like, shift with you. You've shifted, you've changed, your belief structures have changed. Great. Now it's time for that. That is not in resonance to fall away.
I love that. And everybody at home is just getting into it. We got Mary and Carl on the call, got Robert. Everybody's just, you know, in alignment with this. And I just want to, I just want to kind of before we move to the next thing is just, just a call to action. Guys, if you see an opportunity to create something that is of service to people as a function of community, please do it. Because there's people out there, like, they may be on their last. Like, I've had multiple experiences in my life where people are like, I'm ready to give up and they don't say anything and then they do and they go away. You know, I just had a friend recently who I've known for years, you know, just kind of, you know, keeping in touch and he was very successful and it seemed everything was fine. One day he posted social media on social media, suicide note. And then he goes dark. Nobody could find. This kind of stuff happens. There's people out there hurting that need you. So if you feel called to create something, create it. You feel called that person on the phone that, hey, I should really reach out to them, call them, please.
Yeah, do. Do the things that you would love to do by yourself and then invite people into that experience. Do the things that you. That fill you up and then find ways to incorporate others into that experience and have it be a foundation of, like, your joy that will continue and be. It's not relying on anyone else or anything. And that's such a healthy place for a community to evolve into and from.
That's beautiful. And we're all figuring it out, too, I think, is the other thing. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it right right away. Just focus on getting it right eventually, and it'll start to fall into place. Adam, so you've been so gracious and generous with us, kind of sharing some of your story and some of the ways you help people. What are the things that are most exciting and pressing for you right now? Like the things that are getting you out of bed in the morning right now?
My show is top of mind right now. I'd never seen anything like it. When I decided to create it perfect. And so I didn't know if it would work, I was like, I hope this kind of works. And it is so powerful. I'm so proud of it. And the fact that I get to go tour it internationally in a week is. Where are you going to be in.
Australia, by the way? Where are some of the cities? A lot of Australian friends.
Awesome. Yeah. Melbourne on November 4, Gold coast on November 9, Sydney on November 14, and then Perth on November 18.
Wonderful. Anybody out there who's in those cities, come check out Adam. He's gonna be in your neck of the woods.
Check it out. Adamroad.com, the upcoming page. You can find out all the information. That's what's most present for me Now. I'm learning a lot about what it takes to promote and market and, like, put on an international tour.
Alexi and Preston made it look so easy.
Alexi and Preston made it look so easy. And so that's a valuable experience and something I'm very much in. And then, yeah, there's so many. We just. It's funny. So Asria and I, we got a whiteboard in our office, and it was just recently. And so we did, like, my column, her column, and, like, a shared column. And I just went through and listed all the things that I'm currently creating. And putting it on paper made me realize how much is currently, like, going in. Just, like, in the background, in the unconscious. And, like, I'm starting a clothing company. Real simple T shirt lines, really sustainable, beautiful concept.
And.
And my video course. And then we have a feature film. We have a feature film that Asria has been writing for more than eight years.
Wow.
And it tells the story of what an awakening looks like through plant medicine. And also with wrapped in, like, the Hollywood hills party scene, like, it's really incredible. And we have such. We have ideas on how to create it, how to market it, how to distribute it that are all different than the traditional models. And so it feels like such a amazing new. And whenever you're doing something new, like with the show where, like, haven't seen it before and this is new to. There's an energy of creation that's really exciting, that gets me out of bed in the morning and, like, I feed off of it.
I love that. And I'm sure a lot of people can relate. Like, we have that idea that's just burning inside you and you just want to create something. And that's what this show started as. Like, I want to have the conversations with people that nobody's having. Everybody follows that formula. Like, if you've ever been on a couple podcasts, you'll start to notice they kind of ask the same questions of everybody, but not everybody fits in the same nice, neat little box.
Sure.
You know, So I really wanted to just get into it with people and see what they're all about right in their words and then help people to kind of translate that in a way that makes a lot of sense and they can pull out the nuggets that are valuable.
It's so funny because that's the exact reason I started my podcast.
I love to come on it.
Yeah, he's gonna be on it. The Deep Dive with Adam Rowe. He's gonna be on the. The thing about my podcast was I realized I was having these conversations with people. I remember you and I. And I can't remember who else. I think it was Lisa. We ate at Cafe Gratitude.
Oh, in la. Yeah, that's right.
And like, that conversation, the conversations that I have with Preston Alexa, like, all of these conversations that I'm having, I feel so blessed to be having because they're like, getting into some real stuff. Like, really just, like, no superficial stuff. Like, what's really going on with you? What are you excited to create in the world? What's the impact you want to make? And I've found, like, when I would go back home to Arizona and discuss things and be around my friends and family, the conversation was so much more surface level. And I started to recognize that I'm the abnormal one. Those conversations that I'm having regularly aren't normal conversations. When someone tells you, oh, yeah, like, yeah, I'm having. I'm alright. I'm doing like this to really, like, well, what's really going on? What's going on with you and your wife? Like, those questions are, are not a social norm, and those conversations are not the social norm. And so I wanted to start a podcast just because I wanted to get amazing people like you just to have a conversation and give people access to what that looks like and make those sorts of conversations, those topics, those emotional vulnerabilities, normal and okay. Because I think they're incredibly healing.
Yeah. And I think everybody has this sense of like, oh, if I can't share that, if everybody knew that, then the world would be a better place because everybody feel like, less broken, you know, and that's really what we're here to do, is like, yeah, I use my lens and use your lens. But at the end of the day, we're here to connect. We're here to connect with people. Like, that's the only thing that's gonna bring fulfillment long term.
Yeah. If you believe that you had some kind of choice as a soul or consciousness about coming into human form at all, why would you choose to be human? To be isolated. You know what I mean? Like, you could choose to just be like a ball of energy floating in space or something. Like, you don't. Like, you don't actually space ghost.
I know my next life, reincarnation, like.
Isolation is an option in other realms, but, like, choosing to be human seems like choosing to interact and have experiences and relationships.
I love it. Well, thank you, Adam. And since this is the Make More Marvels podcast and we're all about, you know, connecting people to resources and opportunities and people and systems, and you've been so generation, you've been so generous with us in sharing your knowledge, wisdom, etc. What are the things that we can help you with? Like, there's a lot of really smart people out here watching, listening. Thank you for checking us out. You know, what are the ways we can help you move your mission forward faster?
Thank you. That's a wonderful question. Let's see. I'm going to simplify it. Basically, I am looking for, say, three things. One is people who want to attend or help spread word about the show. It's called permission to think freely. If you're in Australia, I would love for you to come. And the next step is probably we're going to tour Canada with it and maybe east coast, like New York. That's Adamroa.com youm can go to Adamroa.com and the upcoming page is where you'll get information about that show. So that's one of the most present things for me right now. And then I'm Looking for collaborators, basically, like you were talking about collaborators who share a vision for specifically in, like, the film and conscious media creation world. If that's you. If you are interested in being, like, an investor, if you're interested in being. If you have a skill set in distribution or filmmaking and you're like, want to be involved and want to collaborate, I'm always looking for just aligned collaborations in that realm. And then lastly is things like this, man. Like, I love spreading messages and I think that there's a lot of value in what you provide. And so I love supporting that and getting these messages out. And so, like my podcast, if you are someone who feels like you have a message that they can go out and you're in the area. If you. Yeah, just deep dive. Deep dive. Yeah, anything like that. Just collaborations with Alignment on Mission.
I'm gonna connect you with Ro Palomo.
I know Ro. We've been surfing. You and I haven't been surfing.
You're killing me, guys. All my friends go surfing without me.
Ro and I have been surfing together. Yeah, he just moved away.
Yeah, he's up in LA now. Yeah, they claimed him. I'm gonna see him Thursday.
Are you?
Yeah, I'll be up there Wednesday night through Thursday visiting some people.
He might see this. What up, Rob? You Ro.
Okay, awesome. So people can find you@adamroad.com if they have that connection or want to reach out about film and whatnot. How would they do that?
So the best way, I mean, you can send me an email through the website, but I think that the best way to stay in contact with me is through my social media channels. So Adam Roa, he tagged me on this video. So if you're seeing me for the first time, you can just like, send a friend request or follow or whatever and then Adam Roa on Instagram.
Love it. Thank you, Adam, so much for being on the show. Thank you. Do you have any last parting words or wisdom for.
Yeah, always. You are seen, you are heard, and you are loved.
I love it. Lovely. Thank you.
Yeah. Thank you, brother.
Appreciate you. Thank you. Facebook land. Let's answer some questions.
Do we have any questions?
Does anybody actually watch this thing?
What's your take on mental health?
Okay. Take on mental health. Go.
How are you today, Rachelle? What's your take on mental health? I would say that I think most mental health is misunderstood. One of the things that was really powerful for me was when I found out that people who are schizophrenic who hear voices, we as a society, when I say society generally is like, oh, they're hearing voices, they're hearing things that aren't actually there. That's not real. And yet their brains are responding the exact same way as your brain is responding. Hearing me now. And so the idea of what is real, is it. It's not real because I can't see what they're hearing, or is it real because their brain's firing in a real way? Like. So I think mental health oftentimes when. When you look at, like, indigenous cultures, schizophrenics, people who had visions like that sort of stuff, were the shamans. They were. They were medicine men and women. They were considered to have a gift. And so they were raised in a society that encouraged the gift and revered it and allowed them to develop it, even. And so mental health in our society there, it's like a lot of people become homeless. Like, a lot of people don't get the support. They're seen as weird or strange or broken. And so in general, I think that mental health, which does mental health issues do run in my family. So, like, I think that primarily they're misunderstood. And I think that if we can create more systems of compassion for the differences by focusing on the similarities and having compassion for the differences, that would lead to a whole new discussion and a different way of interacting with mental health.
What have you found to be the best resources for people who might be struggling or know somebody who's struggling with a mental health issue at the moment, who.
I think, going back to what we were talking about, I think that the things. Things I've seen most beneficial for people struggling with mental health has been community. I think that feeling like there's people that they can talk to and, like, whether that's like a family member, I know for myself, like, with my family, there were times where my family members didn't feel like they could come to me and talk to me. And so I've worked really hard to create a new container where they can come to me. And. And I think that that's what I know how to do. Right. I'm not a mental health professional by any means. I don't know much about the science behind the mental health issues. And so. But what I do know is that they're still human and all humans want to feel loved and they want to feel acceptance and compassion. And so I think that providing a space for them to receive that aspect is really healing.
Thank you. Thank you for the touching message. Everybody out here who's struggling, PTSD or suicidal or anything going on. There's a lot of different resources, guys. We just reach out to somebody. Please, just let them know you're hurting. Just want to talk and let them really know I want to talk. Not just, oh, it'd be great to hang out. No, I have something going on. I'd really like to speak to you. And what may come out of that might save your life, it might change the world. It might change the world for everybody else, too. Because when you light a candle, light a thousand other candles, same candle at diminishing that one flame. So never think that your contribution doesn't matter, because it always does. Thank you so much, Adam. Thank you so much for everybody who's watching at home and everybody in itunes land and all the other places that this goes. We appreciate you. We love you. Thank you. You are seen, you were heard, you were loved.
