Good morning. It's my birthday.
Hi.
I haven't had coffee since June, since I was in Spain. So it's been about seven or eight weeks now. I'm gonna go to Dunkin Donuts and get a coffee because it's my birthday. I'm also making a vlog today, but today is gonna have a special theme since I don't want to just have it be about me and my birthday. I want to also give back to all the wonderful people who have supported me over the years and encouraged me over the years. I also want to make 31 things, 31 things that I've learned in 31 years. Thing one, be you. Everybody else has taken. I know you've heard this advice before, but it's really important if you're not yourself and you're trying to copy somebody else. Now, I'm not saying don't be inspired by other people. I'm not saying don't borrow things from other people. But ultimately you want to Bruce Lee that shit, right? You Bruce Lee in the sense that you take what's there, you add what is uniquely your own and then you discard the rest. So you come out with something new. Right? There's no new ideas out there. That's just a silly notion. But if you want to be original, you have to learn from the greatest. Add what's your own, discard the rest.
Cool.
Thing I've learned too. Managing your emotional state is the number one most important thing that will determine your success or failure in life. If you cannot manage your emotional state each and every day, you're going to have problems. It's about 50% physiology, meaning what you do with your body, it's about 25%. What you focus on, it's about 25%. The language that you use either positive or negative shaped your emotional state. So first thing you can do to set up your day for an amazing state every single day, day emotionally, is to do something physical every single day. Easy peasy. First thing out of bed, I do 25 push ups or more. If I can do more, great. And I do at least 20 squats. Gets your body going whether you do any other exercise for the day or not. I also run, I do swimming, I do other things. But that will also set you up for a great day. Thing three, proper hydration. If you don't have proper hydration, you're going to be hurting. Right? Your body, 70% water and it has a very delicate PH balance. So you want to make sure you have salt, you want to make sure. You're alkaline instead of acidic because acidity causes all kinds of problems. You want to make sure you have enough water. So what I do first thing in the morning is I hit my body with agua, a little bit of lemon citron, limon, and then I hit it with a little bit of salt or sal. Lemon, Salt water, easy. So yeah, it's okay. Cultivate attention. It's okay to want attention, but you gotta do something good with it. It's really important. Don't just be an attention whore for the sake of being an attention whore.
Cool.
I've got my charger, got my phone ready to go. I am ready to go make a movie about the 31 things that I've learned over 31 years. And I'm going to see how many people I can help today. Whether it be life advice, something as simple as a smile, whether it be going to donate my time. Whatever it is, I'll figure it out. But I'm gonna help some people today for my birthday. Abundance is a real thing. And it does mean giving more than you get, but not so much more than you get that you become a martyr. Right. You gotta walk that abundant line between miser and martyr. And I think the exact ratio is 51% give, 49% get. So you gotta look out for yourself. You gotta make sure your cup is overflowing so that you have to give to. But you really, really, really need to give and put your best forward foot Forward first. So 51% give, 49% receive. Because giving and receiving in abundance is abundance, not just one or the other.
Cool.
That's thing five.
Friday night, a guy ripped my fucking handle off.
Really? That's my kind of project for the day.
Fantastic.
And I'm going to try to do some, some kind of giving back as well. Do you know any, like soup kitchens? Super. Nice. The guy is like, hey, I'm retired. Let me help you out. If you need to use the gym or whatever, you need a ride. You're not getting any Ubers around lately. Hit me up like, cool, thanks, man. That's where we are, Chris.
We are approaching Kin City, which is a tourist area. Okay. Which is on Naples Pier. You'll see the beautiful boats. This is called Bayfront Condos. Boat rentals. A lot of nice places to eat. Taverns.
Sweet. I think it's. Thing number six. People are fucking awesome. Give them a chance, honestly, listen to them, empathize with them. Give them a chance to tell them your story. You will never, ever, ever cease to Be amazed by the amazing human beings that occupy your daily life. Just reach out and look for them. Your country is very beautif. Oh, thank you. And American people are very nice, sympathetic, and polite. Thank you. Every people we meet say, hello, good morning, everybody. Really grab life and make the best out of it. Enjoy it.
Yes.
To the max. And just. I love it.
Awesome.
You guys rock. Thank you so much. Nice to meet you. Thank you. People are so awesome. That was so much fun.
Fun. Okay.
I'm in the botanical garden checking it out. I'm going to see if I can make a quick lap around here, see some things. Okay. Thing number eight, trust people at their word. Once fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. When you tell people things and they agree to them, your word is your bond. Right. And same thing with you. Like, you got to keep your word. That's the only thing that keeps us honestly progressing forward as human beings. Very important. Your word is your bond. Do what you say you're going to do. Or don't say you're going to do it. Honestly, I promise probably about 90% less things than I ever have before. And I try to deliver on 100%. And if I can't deliver, for whatever reason, life happens, things happen. I get it. I communicate with the person I promise to because that might have been really important to that person. Did the botanical garden. Super fun. That just makes it all the better.
Just say hello.
