Short excerpt from a YouTube video by Brad Hart (recorded 2023-06-15) in which Brad Hart and another speaker discuss podcasting philosophy. Central advice: prioritize strong conversations, creative hosting, and great guests rather than obsessing over metrics; delegate analytics to a team and pursue podcasting wholeheartedly without comparing yourself to top figures in the space.
Some people live a life where they work really hard, and ultimately that conversation piece is, I think, the most important part. It's like the end of the day, you need social proof, you need good guests, you need to have an audience. But if you can't, if you can give people a good conversation, then you're going to keep doing this for a long time.
Yeah. And I don't even know what my numbers are. Let my team handle that, because all I want to do is do the best possible podcast with the best possible people I know how to do, and that shows up for me. And consistently, I get great guests. And, guys, if anybody is listening and wants to do a podcast, if that's for you, go into it with all your heart and soul. And just don't worry about the numbers, because you're always going to compare yourself to the Tim Ferriss or the whoever and whatever niche, and you're going to make yourself crazy when you can just be the very best that you can.
Just make you mad.
Yeah. If I tried to be like Tim, I would get bored as hell. Like, I don't care, you know, about hearing the same answer from the same people. There's so many ways to be creative in the space.
