This is August 31, 2016, day three of Leadership Mastery. Today I am very grateful for all the opportunities that God has shown me in my life. The opportunities to connect, all the magic moments, all the time, happenstances and circumstances that just put everything together. Just knowing it's gonna work out right, just taking that first step, feeling the fear and doing it anyway because I know it's a big fucking step for me. The visualization exercises, growing up, showing up, cleaning up, waking up. $1 million. I'm gonna do it effortlessly. I'm gonna build the team to make it happen.
I want to stay involved in the community and I want. Saturday, September 4th, we're about to hike Iron Mountain.
We're here at the trailhead. I'm just really stoked that we're doing this hike today.
It's going to be an amazing day. All right, what are we doing today, guys?
Do a little hike early for our Hike Fearless Hike club. Now that Peter Scott's here, we got up at 4 in the morning so we could a gourmet breakfast on top of Iron Mountain. Six miles today. Crank out.
Yeah.
And we've got Jacqueline doing some pirouettes over here. I love it. Is that a pirouette? What do you call that, Jacqueline? Love it. Good morning.
Right on time. Let's do this.
Today's gonna be an epic day. Really excited to be here in San Diego with my buddies. Let's hike some mountains, guys. Let's do it. Right on. Giving his sermon on the mount.
Yes. I don't have service that ain't happening. Good morning, world. I think my number one tip to any student, anyone in their teens or early twenties that's wanting to launch a business is to surround themselves with entrepreneurial minded people. Because it's very rare today, especially with what our society teaches, with what our education teaches. You're rewarded to follow the rules. You're rewarded to color within the lines Y. And I think mindsets like that are what limits entrepreneurs from actually going out and building a movement, going out and impacting humanity. And the way, like, I wasn't born an entrepreneur. I don't consider myself a born entrepreneur. And I don't think you have to be. What I was very blessed about was that I surrounded and created a circle of people that were up to big things, impacting humanity, creating products, creating services. And it changed my worldview. It changed the way I view the world and I view myself. Wow. And I'd love to share that philosophy along with different shifts in mindset to students so that they Create a bigger impact than just following what society is telling them.
Right on.
I would start with books and podcasts because I know as a student you don't have a lot of income. Of course, I'd say hire a mentor. I hired my first mentor when I was 29. It was a big investment. It was $20,000. I realized not everyone can do that. But that was after five years of consuming podcasts from Tim Ferriss and, you know, learning from people like Elon Musk and Peter Diamandis and, you know, just brilliant entrepreneurs of how they view the world. And it shifted what was possible for me.
Check out the Soul Sword by what's his name, Ernan Kitaboo Turner.
I would find entrepreneurial coaches that are out there and consume every piece of free content that you possibly can. And then when you're ready, look at hiring a mentor, look at joining a mastermind, because that made all the difference in the world. Yeah, I think one thing that I credit a lot of the success that I've experienced to is speed of implementation. So when you learn something, instead of going from the next from that resource to the next, execute and implement that as quickly as possible. Even if you don't know what that looks like, even if you don't know what the result of that's going to be, do it over and over and over again. Because that's the only way you're going to ingrain that learning and actually have a result at the end that impacts others. If you just keep this knowledge inside of you, then it's great for you, but it doesn't improve anyone else's life.
Right. Or your own, in that case. Right?
Yeah, very true. We are on the top of Iron mountain. It is 6:53am we did a little sunrise hike. Can't see the sun yet because the fog is here. Sam.
