A sermon on James argues that real faith shows up in repeated actions, not just words. The speaker says being a doer of the word means building habits that reflect trust in God's provision, not self-control. Faith is a continual choice you live out daily.

What you repeat is louder than what you declare. The book of James didn't say believe harder. James says be doers of the word, not only hearers. In other words, don't just nod your head in agreement; build your life in alignment. Anyone can make a bold statement. Anyone can have a passionate moment. But God's not looking for flash; he's looking for formation. Because real faith doesn't just show up in what you say on Sunday; it shows up in what you repeat on Monday again and again and again. So if your words say I trust God, but your Habits say, I trust control, I trust myself, I trust what I can produce or manufacture. Don't just declare it, train it, repeat it. Put faith into praxis, put faith in action. Say, God, I'm going to trust you with this event. God, I'm going to submit this over to you. God, I don't know how it's going to happen, but I'm choosing to believe, making the conscious decision that you are going to make a way even when there appears to be no way. And I'm not only going to say it, but I'm going to walk in agreement with that belief.
