This is a YouTube video titled "Are You Making These Outbound Sales Mistakes?" containing a monologue by Beverley Simpson recorded in January 2025. Beverley discusses best practices for outbound sales roles, including salary structures, commission, and the importance of having a proven system for outbound sales representatives to follow.
So in outbound you're always going to do basically a 60, 70% salary plus a commission. So with outbound, obviously you're not giving them leads, so there's no lead requirements. But what I recommend is that you have some sort of best practices and you do have a system that's winning, that works, that they can take over. So for instance, what I probably wouldn't do is hire a outbound sdr, give them a salary and then just say go figure it out. Like that's unless you're, unless you're hiring somebody that is like they've done it before in a previous role, they know exactly what to do, then okay, maybe that's fine. But then you're probably also hiring like a more of an SDR manager who's going to validate it first and build out a team under them. So that could be one thing. But generally like if you're hiring an average SDR or an average outbound or like outbound account executive type person, usually you need something for them to like a system that's like, here's what's working, you just need to do this.
