This is a YouTube video titled "Beginner luck explained" containing a motivational talk by Beverley Simpson recorded on December 20, 2023. Beverley shares insights on confidence, competence, and the learning process for beginners, encouraging viewers to embrace their unique journey and skills.
Beginners don't know what it is that they don't know. So they come in with a magnetizing energy of confidence, because underneath confidence is competence and experience. And evidence starts to shake that a little bit, because we get into informed pessimism, or we see someone else and we think, oh, man, they're better than me. It's nonsense. Go all in on you. And it's not nonsense in the sense that, okay, maybe they have more experience than you. Maybe they're. Maybe they have a skill that you can learn. But skills get to be learned and practiced. You cannot outwork someone else, and someone else cannot be you. So hit that reset button and magnetize yourself, knowing that, hey, where I am right now is my suit superpower, and I am on my way to whatever it is. So thank you so much for hanging out with me today.
