This is a YouTube video titled "Feeling like an impersonator" containing a conversation recorded in May 2024. The dialogue features Beverley Simpson and another speaker discussing challenges related to training clients who may not fit the trainer's personal profile, specifically addressing sentiments around training moms over 40 and creating client buy-in.
Like, well, who had to be training dancers and never been a dancer or I hear things like, you know, I still have weight to lose or whatever it is that noise that comes into their head. So now as somebody who is completely not training your avatar at all, like you are not a mom over 40. Have you had to deal with those sentiments? How did you. And then have you had to, you know, create any type of buy in for the client?
Well, first and foremost, I identify as a 40 year old mom, so.
Okay, great.
I'm just kidding. No, not taking it there. But when it comes to not training your like your clientele, it comes down to who you can be helpful for. Because I think of it more so in like that expert guru style where it's like, I'm not an expert, I'm not a guru, I just know enough to be helpful. So if somebody's like, what business do you have training moms over 40? I'm like, I've literally tailored my education to just that.
