So step number one is knowing your target customer. Now, I think this can be almost overcomplicated for some people, because as I was preparing for this episode, I made a note that you are not necessarily looking for unicorn. You're not looking for somebody that is so rare that your biggest obstacle is you can't find them. And you're not necessarily looking for somebody that is so specific that you wouldn't have a viable business if you only served that very, very specific person. So what I would say is, if you are just getting started and you've helped fewer than 50 clients, maybe even fewer than 10, consider this as knowing who can afford to hire you right now and who you'd click with based on your personality, values, skills, experience, and qualifications.
