This is a YouTube video titled "From Authority to Expertise: The Journey to Mastery in Business and Beyond" containing a monologue or talk discussing the difference between being right and achieving results, the evolution from dogmatic approaches to open-minded expertise, and the distinction between authority and true expertise in professional practice. The speaker reflects on personal experience and insights about mastery and critical thinking.
I always say this to my clients too, is that, do you want to be right or do you want to get results? And so what I have found, even in my own experience, is the more dogmatic I have been in my approach, whether it's messaging, business building, or, or, you know, training, it usually has been a reflection or indicator of my years of experience because I want to be right so bad. So I'll hold on to, like, oh, well, I figured out how to do this. And it's usually just a reflection of youth in inexperience, of doing the practice, because the more a master becomes a master, I see they become more open to. Here's my claim. But I can be a critical thinker. I can be open to. It depends. Right? Like. Dr. It's right. You, you also bring up the difference between an authority and an expert. They're different. And there are a lot of people who have authority, but their expertise is thin. But the true experts who know they have authority, also sharing their opinion, they're usually not afraid to say, hey, this is my opinion. I'm thinking through this. And that to me, I'll lean into that because I can trust that and not the person, their process.
