This is a YouTube video titled "How do you prepare gen pop people for ultras" containing a discussion between two speakers about the challenges and preparation needed for general population individuals to undertake ultra-distance running events. The conversation focuses on the misconceptions and training required for such endurance activities. The speakers are not named Beverley Simpson.
Mm. Okay. So what. I guess part of the thing that I am curious is how. What is the level of capability and capacity that. That gen pop people don't fully understand? Like, for me, I remember back in the day, like, before I became a trainer, I was like, oh, I like running. I'll just run a marathon and then, like, have no real idea that. That what that actually takes and entails. And I feel like there's a lot of gen pop people that are like that. So how do you prepare them? How do you help them see, like, oh, this is gonna feel like 50 miles to you.
I love the. I love the, like, I'm just gonna do it attitude. There's a lot of people I know, like, my. The guy trained around the 50 mile, has never run more than 20 miles before in his life. And before we started training together, he'd never run more than 10 miles. You know, like, he was a power sport decathlete, and he was just like, I'm gonna go do it.
