This is a YouTube video titled "How to navigate the word 'pain'" containing a discussion between multiple speakers about the challenges trainers and coaches face in understanding and managing pain within their professional scope, including when to refer clients to clinicians. The conversation involves personal trainers and physical therapists sharing perspectives on their roles and boundaries in pain management.
Because I think in addition to trainers and coaches wanting to navigate dealing with pain, there's also a lot of fear around what is in scope and what is out of scope. And you started to talk about when do I refer out? So how do you really, you know, starting from that beginning, you know, define the word pain and navigate it.
Yeah. So I'll give a little context just before I answer your question. I'm a personal trainer. I've got a bunch of personal training certifications. I've learned a lot of stuff, some which I can use in my scope and some which I realized this is interesting, but I can't use it right. So that I sort of navigated that, that frustration for myself in my own career. But part of what I like about the PPSC team is there's some of us that are really proud to be trainers, and then there are also clinicians, physical therapists that make up the team. And in my mind, that's actually the sort of perfect way to do it.
