A sales call often fails because you're pitching instead of listening. Ask questions to find what actually hurts, then build your answer around that, not around a script you've memorized.
And I think the biggest problem with a lot of sales, especially done over zoom, is that people don't ask enough questions. They don't really know the true pain. They don't really know the problems that the client has. And then they go into their pitch and their pitch is the general pitch. It's the same one that they use on absolutely everybody. And that is not the way to do it. You have to understand where your client is at and then take everything that your product or service does, find the things that align with their pain points, and reiterate that back to them. But the fact finding, as we call it, is what is so important in that process that really, I think a lot of people miss out on. So understanding your clients needs is number one priority.
