This is a YouTube video titled "If people acted in real life the way they do at a party" containing a dialogue between two speakers discussing social anxiety and interaction at parties, recorded in September 2024. The content is a conversational exchange but does not include Beverley Simpson as a speaker.
Dude, what are you doing? Oh, I'm just standing here waiting for someone to come and talk to me. How long have you been standing there? 90 days. You're at a party. I don't want to be creepy or sleazy or slimy or give anyone the wrong impression, make them think I want to marry them. And you think standing there looking like that doesn't look creepy or seem creepy to you at a party? I don't know. Okay, so here's just a couple of things. If you want people to talk to you and you feel shy, then give yourself the space and permission to not feel like you have to talk every day. Everyone in the room, and just pick one to two people that you feel like you could start a conversation with without asking them to get married. Or if you are the type of person that wants people to come and talk to you, then what would it look like or feel like if you were the first one to go say hi first, because if that were working, people would be coming and talking to you. I don't know. How long am I supposed to stand here? I mean, it takes what it takes until it takes. But I wouldn't stand there for 90 days. Me and the people.
