This is a YouTube video titled "Mastering Fitness Coaching for Seniors: A Guide for Wellness Experts" containing a dialogue between two speakers discussing challenges and solutions related to training older clients in fitness coaching. The conversation focuses on overcoming biases and gaining confidence in coaching senior clients. The speakers are not identified as Beverley Simpson.
I'm curious if you've experienced that or you know, how you have navigated that for your clients and helping them train and coach people who are, you know, older.
I hear that from, from trainer. No, I hear that from trainers sometimes. But, but it's a very simple solution. Get educated, learn a little bit. You know what the heck you're going to, you're going to say no. Don't tell me about 100 billion people in this country that I could be helping. Don't tell me about people who have the time and the money and the loyalty to become my best customers. Don't tell me about people who I can upsell on nutritional supplements and on personal training. I don't want to know about them. Because it's just so much easier to stick with a 25 year old muscle head who wants to, you know, pay $10 to walk into my gym and throw around weight whenever he wants to. Why should I learn anything? Golly, that's crazy. No, look, do I, do I look like you're going to break me? No, I'm asking you, you're a fitness pro. Would you be afraid to train me?
No, not now, but I would have when I was younger, maybe newer.
Because of what? Because, because you, you would ask my age and I would say, I'm 61, and you would say, oh, no, you're gonna, you're gonna break.
No, I think more is more like the noviceness, right? So like, you know, feeling more like, oh my gosh, like, where do I start? Like, so.
