This is a YouTube video titled "Mastering Stress Management: The Role of Cortisol and Nervous System Control" containing a monologue by Beverley Simpson recorded in June 2025. Beverley discusses the importance of managing stress by considering various factors such as diet, training, sleep, and toxic load, emphasizing the essential role of cortisol in the body's fight or flight response.
Control their nervous system because I think that's super important. But the example I was getting at was we asked that and I asked that on console calls and when people think of that they immediately jump to work, family deadlines, finances like all the things in their life that are just like pulling them in multiple directions. Right? What we don't think about is how much we're eating, calorie deficit, calorie surplus, overtraining under training, sleep. We don't think about toxic load. We don't think about other things that are going on in our body when we think of stress and those things also need to be put into the bucket. So if we're going to talk about balancing stress, cortisol like you said it does not need to be demonized. It is very necessary. If we didn't have cortisol we would all die because we have no like fight or flight instinct. Right? We would, there would be no running away, no nothing. So cortisol is absolutely necessary.
