This is a YouTube video titled "Neck Exercises for Concussion Prevention Techniques to Reduce Whiplash" containing a monologue by Beverley Simpson recorded in April 2025. Beverley explains different levels of neck exercises designed to stabilize the neck and reduce the risk of concussion by minimizing whiplash effects during impacts.
What I tend to do is like a really basic example would be to like bring your hand to your head and just push and then go either side, like all around. That's like level one. And then you might do one where you're like hanging off of, like you say you lay on a bed with your head off the edge and try and keep it all in a neutral position. So that would be level two. And then you might have a resistance band around and like attached. And then you can like do a little chicken. You look ridiculous. It's not a cool thing to do. But you might do some rotations, just anything to apply gentle force to your neck, but whilst also making sure you can keep your head in a neutral position because then you're not going to hurt yourself doing it. And if you can provide all that stability, then the main thing that you have is that the whiplash effect of being tackled is reduced, which is what gives a lot of concussions, because concussions aren't just from head on head contact, they're from that, like.
