This is a YouTube video titled "Nutritional challenges for athletes" containing a discussion between two speakers about nutritional strategies and challenges for athletes with different goals, including ultra runners. The conversation focuses on dietary needs, carb intake, and common misconceptions about nutrition.
And so I'm glad you brought up nutrition because I'm just curious, you know, what are some of the nutritional challenges and or differences that you notice that you are communicating with someone who has an, an active goal versus, like an ultra running athlete? Are your conversations mostly the same?
Yeah, they're very similar. Just an ultra runner is going to need a lot more food and more carbs, especially on their long days. And an ultra runner is going to have to take in mind, like on these long days we have to take an intro, run carbs and even sometimes fats and protein, depending on how long it is. But the conversation is largely the same. A lot of people are very used to all the back and forth, like religious nutrition talk online. Like, carbs are bad, this is bad, that's bad. And I like to take a more of an 8020 approach. Like, and people are so used to having bad foods and they're like, I have cheat days, I have binge days, I have cheat meals, which I don't, you know, I don't like at all.
