This is a YouTube video titled "Old School Mentor Inspires Competition" containing a monologue or personal story from May 6, 2023, where a speaker reflects on their early training experiences and mentorship by an old school bodybuilder who encouraged them to consider competing. The content is a single-speaker narrative without mention of Beverley Simpson.
When I look back, he was like, my first, like, lifting mentor. He's like an old school bodybuilder. And you could see that I would always come in. I was training early, and, you know, I was obviously training hard and training intensely. And he would, like, mentor me sort of under his wing a little bit. And he always drilled into me. He's like, have you ever thought about competing? And I'm like, no, I could never do that. I could never do that. And he's like, okay, another couple of months. He's like, you sure you haven't thought about competing? And I'm like, no, I couldn't do it. Couldn't do it. Anyways, he just kept saying it.
