This is a YouTube video titled "Optimal training for different sports" containing a discussion focused on training strategies for Ironman triathlons, specifically balancing swimming, cycling, and running workouts to optimize recovery and performance. The excerpt features a single speaker explaining the benefits of swimming for recovery in multi-sport training.
So with an iron man, you also have you still there. Cool. So, yeah, absolutely. With an ironman, you've got obviously swimming and cycling to do. And so you don't want to just take a marathon program and our swimming program and a cycling program and put them all together because that's going to be way too much volume and you can't recover from that. So it does differ because you have to basically cut out some of the fluff. The nice thing is they're all aerobic sports and your aerobic, like lower intensity training, that fitness kind of transfers over a little bit. And swimming is actually super great for the legs on recovery. So you can put swimming in a little bit easier because it's like, okay, your legs are dead from cycling and running. So a swimming day is gonna, you know, help your swim performance and also be really nice on your legs. I don't know if you've ever gotten in the pool on sore legs, but you get out and you feel great afterwards. But I've gotten to pool with a sore back. There you go. Yeah.
