Optimizing Client Success: Navigating Trial and Error in Fitness

A fitness coach explains how trial and error shapes personalized training. Every client responds differently to programs, so coaches adjust based on what works for each person through constant communication and adaptation.
Every client is a trial and error. Every client. I have an idea of what might work, but I don't know exactly what's going to work just because every individual is different. So I can look at all the research, I could be up to date on every workshop, every course, every methodology, everything that's going on. But then when I come to that one client in front of me who's like, my shoulder hurts when I do this, okay, I'm going to try things with that person and see what you can figure out. I'm going to map the movements that work well for this person, map the movements that don't work well. And we're going to figure out how we can develop a training program that's going to be effective ish or effective enough to get you the results you're looking for. The cool thing about research is it tells you what the averages are and what the outliers are. But every client is in front of you. They might be an outlier, they might be an average, they might be a non responder. We don't know until we actually tries. So in every situation that I'm with a client, I'll tell them I have a plan and I have an idea that this might work. I don't know for sure. I want you to be willing to trust me, to be able to adapt things, things as we go forward and let me know and communicate back to me what's going on, what's working, what's not working. We can do this together. But it's something where every finance is going to be a trial and error to a degree.
