Beverley Simpson explains a food categorization system using quadrants. Refried beans, cakes, and ground turkey fall into different categories based on how nourishing and pleasurable they are. The key is making nutritious foods that aren't naturally enjoyable actually taste good.
I mean, that could technically go in quadrant one, but refried beans, you know, they're. They could be considered not nourishing, I guess. So again, it's really up to you where you put that food and obviously educating yourself on what the food provides. So it's different for everyone. But in the case of everyone listening, cakes, cookies, you know the stuff that we said, Those are your bad foods. They were on the bottom. Remember when we had the pyramid? They were the foods on the bottom of the pyramid. Right? Quadrant three. Okay. Yes. So quadrant three is a nourishing foods that are not pleasurable. So for me, Again, this is 99% ground turkey, plain. I'm not gonna eat that by itself. Right. That's gonna be like kale. No one just wants to eat kale. So what we do in this quadrant is we have to make those foods pleasurable. So for 99% ground turkey, for example, I'm gonna put taco seasoning on it.
