This is a YouTube video titled "Safely Progressing in Physical Therapy Gentle Start for Maximum Comfort" containing a monologue or instructional talk from August 22, 2023, focused on guiding clients through gentle physical therapy movements to ensure safety and comfort during progression. The speaker emphasizes starting gently and gradually increasing intensity to avoid pain and discomfort.
Do you have to spend time with that? No, I definitely think that I try to make it feel as safe as possible. And I always kind of tell clients, like, you know, as we're going through these movements, they might start off very gentle, but I don't want you to feel that I'm babying you. We're just starting off very gentle because I would rather ramp up than have to ramp down. If we start off and if we slowly ramp up, you'll feel more comfortable doing that. And it doesn't need to be, you know, to failure. Doesn't need to be. It doesn't need to be pain free. It just needs to be tolerable.
