This is a YouTube video titled "The power of inner urgency" featuring Beverley Simpson delivering a monologue or speech about the psychological challenges of change and the importance of appealing to inner urgency rather than popularity to motivate buying decisions. The content is a single-speaker presentation recorded in April 2024.
We need to appeal to inner urgency. Because, remember, we're not creating demand. We're not convincing anybody of anything. We are moving people and encouraging people to making a buying decision that is going to require change. And I probably don't have to tell you that anytime somebody changes or makes a change, the brain goes, no, I don't want to do it. Even though it's something that is very beneficial and good for them, people oftentimes don't want to do that. And this is why I'm such a huge advocate around the truth about know, like and trust. Because if we are accidentally trying to be liked by everybody and trying to really go after popularity metrics, then we miss the important component of what it takes to actually drive change, which is speaking and being there for people's potential, for their desire to change, and not for the garbage that they bring in the room.
