This is a YouTube video titled "The power of podcasting" containing a discussion between two speakers about the unique and personal nature of podcasting as a medium for audience engagement, recorded on September 16, 2023. The speakers reflect on the invisible aspects of audience building and the value of one-on-one conversations in podcasting. There is no indication that Beverley Simpson is one of the speakers.
So for me, right, when I'm talking about, you know, for my context, for those of you who are new and didn't hear that, that episode that David's referring to is that there is an invisible component to audience building and for me, why I love meaning that people can only see how many followers you have and that is not a direct reflection of who's listening to your show, how many people are are on your email list. There are just so many other invisible components. Which is why I love podcasting, to be honest, because it's my opportunity. Have one conversation with one person, it's just. And I can create that feeling, but that one person will multiply for me at least, right? So it's part of the reason why I love it.
And that doesn't happen often in our society anymore where you can sit down with someone for 45 minutes or an hour and chat one on one and learn about who they are, what makes them tick.
