This is a YouTube video titled "Training programs for strength and hip growth" containing a monologue or instructional talk recorded on November 10, 2023. The speaker discusses assessing body mechanics, specifically center of mass positioning and related movement patterns, to tailor exercise programming for improved posture and locomotion. There is only one speaker and no indication of Beverley Simpson's involvement.
So that's something that I will assess and usually I want to grab information on where do they manage their center of mass? Is it very far forward? If we see that we're probably going to end up seeing someone who is having issues with rotation because when I find when center of mass is really held forward you start to see certain things like the rib cage flaring, the pelvis tilting, even the, the visuals or the head trying to move in order to maintain the visual system or 90 degrees or taking a look at the horizon. So you address that and you build your exercises around that. If someone is very used to being in the, in the, the front of their foot and leaning forward feeling like they're always in a rush to locomote, I will start to program exercises that allow them to, to bring their center of mass back closer towards their heels really building an awareness of what we call like the exhalation skeleton. So being able to drop the diaphragm.
