This is a YouTube video titled "Transforming Connections: The Advantage of Live Event Networking" featuring Beverley Simpson discussing the value of live events for learning and networking, sharing personal experiences of connecting people in professional settings to foster beneficial relationships. The content is from March 2025 and focuses on the importance of communication and introductions at live events.
That's why I'm a huge fan of hosting live events and getting people to live events. Because half of it is the stuff you learn and the other half is the networking, communication, sidebar, conversations. If I was able to say to somebody, like, if I know people in the room and I introduce them to each other, there's a reason for that, and then there's a specific outcome that I know is going to be really good because of that process. If I don't know people and I learned who they are and what they do, I can introduce them to other people. I love to be able to connect people, but like one of my colleagues in Edmonton, Andrew Coates, he's become a huge name in the industry. And I remember years ago when I was able to get him to come to a conference in Kansas City, and I introduced him to a lot of people that are now his colleagues, his friends. He's had them on his podcast. He's been able to write for their sites. And part of it is just being able to say, there's good people in the world, and if you connect them with each other, great things are going to happen.
