The speaker discusses gender roles and societal expectations, focusing on the pressures men face as providers and protectors, as well as the challenges strong, nurturing women experience when seeking support. The content explores themes of identity, emotional vulnerability, and social dynamics related to gender.
About 50% of my business is men. And so a lot of that is the pressure of the man being the provider. That is literally like they're meant to be the ones that are successful and putting food on the table and doing all of that. You know, in a lot of, in a lot of capacities. I feel like, you know, over the years it's definitely become a little bit more neutral, but I feel like that is something very much ego wise that men carry far more than women because I just think that's innately what we experience of like, like females are more a little bit of the nurturers, whereas the men are supposed to be the providers and the protectors. And so their, their whole identity is engulfed in, I have to provide and I have to protect. And so if people don't need them. But I also work with a lot of type A females and I like to call the strong friends, right? They're the ones who take care of everybody. But they, who do they go to when they don't feel strong? Because they can't go to those people because they can't show that. Because then either people are now going to feel bad and they're going to stop asking for help because they're like, dude, your problem's way bigger than mine, like I need to let you be. And then the strong friend doesn't like to hear that because now they're like, now I'm worthless. Yeah.
